In Episode 5 of the Happen Films podcast we speak to Brett and Nici from Limestone Permaculture Farm. We’ve made two short films about Limestone, we shot the first one in 2015 ( • Beautiful 1-Acre Small... ) and the second in 2019 ( • Hugely Abundant 1-Acre... ). There’s a heap of learning, growth and wisdom shared across the two episodes, but a short film is just never enough, even two of them!
We wanted to do a follow-up interview with Brett and Nici because during that second shoot there were massive bush fires on the horizon and the farm was in the middle of a long-time drought. How have they come through it all and what’s keeping them going? We’ve also included some questions asked here on UA-cam and over on Instagram. Thanks for asking, folks!

Today you showed up on my u-tube travels...and what a REFRESHING energy you folks have whether you're from Australia 🌏 or New Zealand... it's you as people I appreciate listening to.
I'm in the state of Arkansas , USA ...am a 71 year young woman that loves to garden....before I started planting anything it was bare field. That was 2006. Now there are fruit trees and several garden areas. Today I'm up to my knees in peeling and canning with apples...and I feel SO Blessed to have everything I need...food prices here in US have sky rocketed...I live on a below poverty wages but I eat well and feel well. I too grow herbs such as stinging nettles, lemon balm, spearmint, chocolate mint, and we have plantain, mullein, elderberry and cleavers growing wild here.
I also SAVE a lot of SEED and often wish I could reach those that need it the most.
It's a lot of work for a senior woman but it keeps me healthy. I do have my slow down lazy days, but I think that's healthy also.
Thank you for all you all are doing, you're a welcome light in the world...much Love and Blessings to you all.

Just at the very beginning of learning about permaculture. I have a worm farm, compost and 3 trees in pots. A blood orange that we bought when we bought our house and two trees (a peach and an apple) bought during the pregnancies of our two children. We want to connect more with nature and bring more green into our lives

Respect is the word that comes to my mind with this podcast - Brett and Nici’s respect for plants, the soil, the land, the animals, water and especially towards each other. They come across as a great team and a nice couple. I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast on Permaculture. Thank you 🌻🐝🦋🦆

Great podcast. Most of what Nici and Brett spoke about is Common Sense...but a sad a indictment on Modern Society is that Common sense and Logic no longer exist!
