  • Today we are boxing in the shelter for the cows and horses, something we’ve been planning to do for the last 10 years! We are also loading up some firewood for a customer and Meagan is making beef tacos and red velvet cake for supper tonight!
    Cream cheese icing
    1 block softened cream cheese
    12 tbsp softened butter
    1-2 tsp vanilla
    Pinch of salt
    5ish cups of powdered sugar
Combine cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add vanilla and salt, combine. Add powdered sugar a cup at a time until you reach your desired consistency. This stuff is so rich and delicious!

Does my heart good to see a young man working with his dad!!!: I'm 71 years young and that's how I was raised and how I raised our 4 children!!! Nothing like farm life!!!!

It's not only wonderful to see a father and son working together, but to see a son who *wants* to work with his daddy. And even if the cows and horses don't use the closed-in space, I'm sure you'll find some use for it. Plus, it's good of you to be thinking of the animals' comfort even if they choose not to use the space -- that shows you are a good steward.
Oh, and Meagan, that cake looked so delish!

Andy, when you said I don’t know why they want to go all the way down there to eat when fresh hay is here, it reminds me of my wife not wanting to eat local but rather drive cause that’s “eating out” 😂

My hubby is Mexican, and I would like to share a tiny secret with you that you could try next time you make tacos to see if you like it. Try adding about a scant tablespoon of cocoa powder to your meat and maybe a quarter of a cup of water, and cooking it until the water is absorbed. You won't actually taste the chocolate, but it adds a depth of flavor. This addition is great for chili also. Shhhh! This is our little secret! Hahaha....

Thank you, Andy and Meaghan, for always being grateful to each other, for cooking, or building, or anything, even just being, and for being so complimentary to each other. You are setting fine examples for both of your children... to know how to properly treat their spouses and to know what to expect from their spouses. God bless you both.

Good job, but I have a suggestion, you might want to nail a couple 2x8s or a wire panel to the inside of the wall cause the cows will get against it and pop those boards off.And the horses can kick them off, I really enjoy y’all’s videos and thanks for sharing your family life with us.I only watch a couple farm videos and y’all’s are one of them, because it’s real and you are not faking anything to make the videos. I appreciate your honesty, Thanks.

I love watching you cook. Especially your home measuring style. “About”. I’m learning to cook good food watching you. But it is hard to cook for just one person. So UA-cam ‘about a tablespoon’ works well for me. If it’s to think or thin Just add more milk or flower. You are my favorite teacher.

I could relate to Jacob with the ladder. I had to require a relationship with the ladder, with God’s help. Every time I get on one, not routine 😁 I tell God, ok, it’s me and you, and plz protect me and I will not fall off. We love watching the children help. We so enjoyed the snow day with y’all. We are in South GA and we got 4” of snow. So exciting for us, we have never received this much. We were kids again today enjoying and having fun. Thanks for sharing your video with us. ❤️⛄️

My daddy was a carpenter nearly all his life and as I’m sitting here watching this video with the way you were measuring and cutting and then Jacob helping you hold the boards up and driving the old nails out reminded me so much of when I would go and help him out. We lost daddy 2 1/2 years ago, so glad to recapture this memory.
I really enjoy this channel, it’s so relaxing to just sit and watch y’all.
Megan….I have learned some things from you as far as cooking and doing things different in the kitchen, when I watch you in the kitchen I picture myself in the kitchen with you just talking like sisters. By the way, Red Velvet is my favorite cake. 🎂 yummy 😋.

I love to make red velvet batter and using less liquid to make it thicker. Then add white chocolate chips and make cookies. I have a neighbor and we share a wall since it's a duplex apartment. Anywho I add them to my sweets containers I give away on holidays. 2yrs ago I took one next door and immediately got a text about how good they were. And when I see little man and his daddy on the porch lil man comes running up to me and said "Hi neighbor you baked me any cookies", I said I hadn't then walked back in and made him some of these cookies. Then his daddy makes sure to text my saying "Oh by the way them crackers were good too"! So yep I also melted some Andes chocolate mints and take Ritz crackers dip to coat and allow them to cool on parchment paper. Gotta keep them fellers happy. The mama loves butter chicken with garlic bread and I also make their 7mo some pumpkin apple baby food. Does it sound like I have my friends, family and neighbors spoiled rotten, lol. Blessings to y'all!

Y'all I'm sittin here with moist eyes cause watchin the 1st part brings back memories of me helping my daddy with me being the baby girl and then being copilot with my daughters daddy.
And Megan you mentioning tacos just reminded me of what I was craving a few days back. I absolutely love taco bowls. I use to go to taco B and get em but there were always something that was puzzling. So I take rice, ta o meat, avocado, lettuce, a mater, red onions, a few dashes of the Louisiana garlic lovers hot sauce, cheese and some avocado ranch dressing and mix it together. I use a fork and or tortilla chips and man is that stuff delicious! Sometimes I add beans either refried or black beans add corn and anything else that strikes my fancy. Of course the rice is mexican rice, yummm!
So I'll stop blabbering cause this video has made me cry and starvin, lol. Much love and Blessings to y'all, Marilyn from Tennessee!

I make our Taco meat with paprika, oregano, cilantro, cumin, pepper, chili powder, red pepper flakes. While the beef or other meat is cooking I add in diced onions and garlic and peppers if I have them. Once the meat and veggies are cooked I add a can of tomato paste, and a cup of water. Let it simmer for about 20 mins or until the liquids have been absorbed, Serve over some Sieti tortilla chips, some diced up romaine lettuce, homemade salsa and sour cream or whole milk greek yogurt. Your cake looks wonderful. We cut out all cakes, sugars for the new year.

Great job on the barn, if you wanted the hole closed in you could scab nailers inside the two posts and cut the board shorter so the metal straps would still show. Really looks good and I never heard the cows or horses complain and the BOSS said she approved so no problems there. Everyone did a great job helping so you all had a great meal at the end of the work. Thanks for sharing with us, sure appreciate the ride along with you all. Fred and family.

I'll tell you this, cows, horses, sheep, etc will prefer being out in the open air once they're acclimated to the weather, which yours have been all along. Here in Canada, once our horses get their winter coats fully grown in, even an old arthritic horse will be there, out in the snow, sunning themselves. Out Western Canada, US, some have never ever been in a barn -30C, -22F or lower and never ever been blanketed/rugged either.
I doubt they'll even come in the barn or shed. I've seen it all.
