  • Hey guys, this isn’t a great edit but I didn’t have a whole ton of time to put it together. Maybe I’ll do another one in the future if you guys want me to!
    Let me know if you have any questions!
    Hope you enjoy getting a sneak peak into what a typical day at work looks like for me! :)

    I do not like rural areas, I dislike them immensely!! They are super annoying and no food joints within sight. I am going to a different DSP that deliver by where I live in Colton California, no more dirt roads, no more cows, horses or cowboys 😂 I will be able to deliver in my Heelys 😁

    Some nice editing and music mixed-in. Really revealing of your strategies and how Amazon and the DSP have set-up your tote bag and overflow packages. I don't think I could ever do a job like this, so much organizing and physical activity all day every day. Loved your hyper-speed van packing and on the deliveries you edited toward the end of your video. Thanks for taking me along on your day.

    Delivery is being organized , did a gig during covid with 2 food delivery restuarants , avg $150 a day including tips , gas was cheap during the pandemic so $13 a day was common . Having no drinks and packages not in an open bag is your friend. We also would drop and pic take , the customer would follow on an app , seeing us on our way to their door .

    My instructions are like that. I've had delivery drivers just throw stuff on our showroom floor at my work place (I work at a Chevy Dealership), one driver left the boxes in a parking space outside in the rain... And I have the instructions saying to "Take all packages to the Parts Counter just inside the Service Drop off tunnel, We have a cart for you to use if needed."
    I now buy most of our stuff from Staples and they deliver next day, the dude may be dressed like a bum, but he read and followed the instructions.

    I don’t know if you’re still driving, but to prevent any hits on Ementor, I shut the Ementor phone off completely, after I sign in. That’s the only way I keep a perfect 850 score. I’d check with your DSP or Leads before doing this though.

      Thanks. I’m not driving anymore. But we used tablets for the ementor to track our driving and I also did this before there were cameras in the vans. I don’t know if you’re actually supposed to turn your phone off when using ementor cause I don’t know if that will actually track it the way it’s supposed to. So I would ask your DSP if your supposed to do that. Maybe you already did. Haha but anyways, thanks for the view and comment :)

(#1-#20) I hate the country at night, so my strategy is to do the later country stops *first* so I don't get stuck out there at night. I've been told splitting your route can actually cost you more time, *but* if your route has a circular shape, then it really doesn't matter where you start, as you'll end in the same area.

    What do you do if the box is too heavy to carry to someone’s door? Does that happen? Do u have a dolly? I’m a breast cancer survivor and can have trouble lifting very heavy things.. would they still let me drive? How heavy are the bags you have to lift into your van? Have you ever not been able to get one in or do you just unpack it and put bag in van then throw packages back in?.. I’m afraid I won’t be able to life the filled bags in the vans.. any suggestions? Also do your vans have the cameras in them now that record everything?

    • @KPNation2

      The heaviest package is no more than 50 lbs. So it’s never been a problem for me. Some people have multiple heavy packages they ordered, and I’d have to take a few trips. Most of the vans have a dolly but not all of them. You could definitely request to be in a van that has a dolly though. :) the bags you have to lift into the van can be pretty heavy! But you wouldn’t be able to unpack it and then repack it, because we only have 15 minutes to load our van.

    • @KPNation2
      @KPNation2  2 роки тому

      All dsp’s start at different times. So, it just depends on your stations start times and stuff. My DSP loads around 10:45am, so you’re starting your first delivery between 11-11:30am most likely, since all of our routes aren’t too far away. But that also could depend on how far you have to drive to get to the area you will be delivering because some DSP’s have to drive farther. As far as airpods, yes you should be able to do that. I did that with some Bluetooth headphones I have, just one piece in. As long as it’s not slowing you down, you should be good (which if you were like me, it would actually help me get in the groove and move faster. Haha).

    hi karissa, i also started working with amazon DSP about couple months ago. My routes have mostly been countryside and some suburban, and once i got to standard routes, it was a bit of struggle to finish them before it got dark. For the countryside houses with open gates, do you often drive into their driveways to deliver to front? and how do you squeeze in a break time to eat and such? I haven't really taken a break during my shifts and only did so for short time to stop at a gas station on the way to use restroom and such.

    • @KPNation2
      @KPNation2  2 роки тому

      Oh nice! Yeah, depending on when it gets dark and how big the route is it can be hard to finish before then. But you can get a nice head lamp that will really help you out when you do have to deliver in the dark :)
      It depends on how the driveway is. If it is really long, yes I will definitely pull into it! Even if it isn’t that long, as long as their is space enough to turn around, I will pull into it to deliver to the front door unless the customer notes says otherwise. :)
      In regards to taking a lunch, that’s kind of up to you. Everyone is different. I like waiting until the end of my route to take my lunch anyways (besides a couple of pit stops through out like you mentioned). I’ll usually snack as I’m delivering or even eat food I brought with me as I continue on my route. But if you feel like you need to take a break, you should definitely do so! :) You should be able to finish your route even with a lunch break in there. Speed and efficiency will come with time-keep at it!

    • @hision97
      @hision97 2 роки тому

      @@KPNation2 thanks for your tip! yes my dispatch told me to use the driveway for the countryside houses unless customer says to leave it at the gate, if the gate is closed, or if it's muddy. Tbh i think that using the driveways for those types of houses are often faster than just running to and back. I often just ate on the way to my first route since it's often about good 20-30 min drive to there from the warehouse. Yes i always make sure to bring plenty of snacks and waters. I'll consider taking lunch break again once i get more hang out getting faster with standard routes.To get faster, i put packages in the center aisle and passenger seat, so i can just grab and go instead of going to the back and getting out through sliding on a lot of stops. Another thing, my DSP does not want us out when it gets dark, and I'm not fan of delivering in the nighttime either bc of lack of lighting on country routes. I'll want to use one of those flashlight that goes on my head next time i have to deliver in the dark for sure. :)
