Is there a factory performance variant of the vortec block (4.8-5.3)? Maybe a performance trim package for a truck with any special intake, heads, cam, tune, valvetrain, rods, Pistons, ect... Or have they always been a base engine.
Does the "24 month or 50k mile limited warranty" cover engine replacement when an exhaust valve drops due to premature guide wear and windows the block?
@@SamM-qk9xo not a fucking joke at all. POS LS7 engine in my 427 had bearing failure. 12 grand. had to take it to a Vette specialist cause Chevy has no fucking clue what they're doing. all chevy does is sit around all day and give you the run around. fucking jack offs.
I would love too have that in my 85 Buick lesabra 2 door old school with that 350 turbo trans. Shift kit with a fire as rear end live action, pull up on side of me🚔
Pos motor, blew the 2nd week I purchased it..dropped a valve..then second motor spun a bearing from titanium rod coating failure. Don't get how gm still kept making this motor.
I love ❤ GM Performance thanks GM i am putting this engine into my low rider 2003 GMC Truck of course backed by a Ten Speed Automatic Transmission oh yeah giddy up .
Hey. I'm restoring my caprice wagon 1992. I have the factory 305 5.0 V-8. What modification would I have to do to make this fit, "for my application." I'm a metal worker and structural welder.
Sure it is! Now it has an even wilder cam, guaranteed to drop even more valves. 🙄 Coming soon to a hole in your block. Ask me how I know..... This is the most problematic V8 engine GM has ever produced. Period.
PERFECT PERFORMANCE!!!! LSX427 + T56!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
Who remembers when 500hp was like 1000
500 was a very big deal.
@@number36420 it should still be 😭
I was saying that to myself the other day
Work of art there...

2006-2007 called, it wants its shitty joke back.
uhhh its not a joke though. This is still an ongoing problem.
My 2006 spun a bunch of bearings too. Very problematic engine

pfffhahahaha! This Z06 engine would smoke your ass, dude
Wonder how this would perform in a 89 caprice
do these drop valves or have they addressed the issue with these motors
Armando Picazo there are lots of videos showing valve guide wear problem with these engines. GM will fix it only if you car is still under warranty .
LS7s were never fixed. Plus these have the old style rods that will rub when the chromium nitride wears off. Ask me how I know

1965 427 was all case iron . chevy and ford had both had a 427 in 1965 .
THE 396 CAME OUT IN 1964,,,REPLACING THE ..409...I WAS ALWAYS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE 427 CAME OUT A YEAR LATER PRODUCTION WISE IN 1966//
You need to look it up . i drove all those cars 1965 .
i apologize...i meant 2 say the 396 came out 4 production in 1965..replacing the 409...the 427 was the next year..
yes right i got a 427 today
And? What do those engines have to do with this one other than displacement?

If I save my money for two years from 2019 ,, I wonder if this will still be available ..
Nope, too late already. Unavailable.

My silverado dropped on its nuts with this under the hood... It just moved..
What material is used for the intake valve seat?
What is aluminum titanium?
Titanium alloys are usually mostly aluminum. Nobody uses pure titanium or pure aluminum.
SWEET I LIKE THAT (Y)
I️ want that on my scooter
F T I want you to stfu
Now will it fit in a impala?
Yes cause it's not much bigger than other ls engines
