If your fork doesn’t have the plastic spacer that means it’s a low travel one you only need 1 elastomer

    Great Job!
Wow! a travel back in time! these belong in a museum now, but in their hayday they were something. They were notorious for denting the top tubes on the bikes when loosing control on the trail....Thanks for sharing and for resurrecting this component!

I’ll test that out thanks. These don’t work too bad for XC forks

The fork was way better than their flex stem system! But, I owned a Scott elastomer suspension fork in 1992. I got it, because my Marzzochi Fork " exploded" a few times. But, I hated the elastomer suspension! It always gave you the feedback of an bumpy Tire!!

I had a 856 with the 2.1 version or the vector fork and also a K2 proflex 4000... You couldn't overstroke the 50 mm of travel but it was particularly good for elastomers, the damper was okay for the time, still to this day one of the stiffest suspension fork I've ever ridden. You could really feel the difference...

How close is the shaft of the shock unit supposed to be to the upper linkage and what might I have done wrong if it is touching? I think maybe the coil spring I salvaged from a random shock is a few mm too long? I had to preload a little it just to install into the shock with the blue nut all the way out
