@ 3:01 that building in the background....Just beautiful!
The old oil lamps are cool! The metal Diest ones! Especially with red glass
I like the steam engines!
The purple oil lamps are cool
Yay you found a red phone ☎️. Thats great!
Yes and for a great price! Now I need an orange one.
I liked those 1/72 scale diecast military ambulances!
One quick way I find to check if a casting is a repro is to look for the screws. Often modern copies have cross head or Phillips screws while originals usually but not always have standard old slot head screws. I love this video, almost like museum walk through and treasure hunt combined.
04:39 next to the battleship is a Danish M1867 bayonet. Not a bad price with the scabbard and certainly an odd find at a flea market.
Also that spear gun is super cool, it's a converted Remington rolling block rifle.
Other cool finds:
Infill handplanes in the Lord Hobo box at 08:47
Starrett 91C tap wrench at 13:55
Stanley #71 router plane at 14:16
Bridge clamps (heavy duty c clamps) at 15:07
Wooden core box plane at 16:05
Do you know if they have the flea market in the fall?
Thanks for that info! I believe that they will have another flea market in the fall at the same time as their fall festival, or whatever they call it. Thanks for watching.
OMG yes the sword 🗡️
Steam whistles ar in the 100’s of dollars! If you get then 50.00 each it would be a great deal!
Hi, That was a good by on the red phone. It may have been built by Western Electric that was the manufacturing arm of AT&T. The lever underneath adjusts the ringer volume. I worked for Western Electric/ AT&T and retired with over 30 years service. When I started at Western Electric in 1970 they had wooden phone booths that you could sit down and close the door. Looked like a fun day looking around.
The mechanical banks should say USA on them
I was at a Flea Market in Tacoma WA. when I saw a guy pick up a handled splitting maul and I couldn't resist.
"Yeah, that Ax has been worn down to just a nub. You should be able to get a good price on that."
"What? No! This is a split'n maul."
"Yeah, that's all it's good for now." I noticed that the owner was listening in with a real big smile. "Excuse me sir, this table yours? What you ask'n for this nub of an Ax?"
He couldn't hold it any longer and busted out laughing. "What I got on it, 9 bucks? How about 6?"
The guy said, "I'll take it?", getting the jest.
"See, that's how you get a discount.
I was making pretty good money back then and I knew sellers were dropping off and the drive-in property value was increasing and everyone suspected it would be sold sooner or later. I would slip some of the vender's a 5 dollar bill, knowing these people really had to be there, and thank them for coming out.
That Flea Market is gone now and a huge apartment building sits there now.
I would have taken all the popular mechanic magazines! At 1.00 each they are probably 5-25.00 each?
I I would definitely buy those trains maby if they work or those whistles
Those post office doors are worth 25-50 each people were making oak banks out of them!
That French bayonet beside the hand made battle ship had 75$ on it if in decent shape worth $200
Actually it’s a sword
That Kodak Colorburst camera was missing it's nameplate because Kodak copied Polaroid, Polaroid sued, Kodak lost. And if you owned a Colorburst, if you mailed Kodak the nameplate, they would send you money as part of the settlement. (It might have been vouchers to purchase another camera, - don't remember)
Those were oilers next to the steam whistles
The phone is cool! Hard to find those phones anymore?
