Gallipoli in the winter is very different from Gallipoli in the summer 😉

He seem to completely ignore the Adriatic coast of Italy, except for the Venice area. From the North city of Trieste to south city of Leece, it is a shame. Beautiful coast of sandy beaches, cliff and craggy rocks to small islands. Ports, fishing villages, urban cities and resort towns, even a country. Each has distinct architecture, cuisine and history.

Don't tell anyone. Keep it to ourselves. Don't want a tourist invasion.

That's because he was plugging his Sorrento tour ! Sorrento is a tourist trap compared to authentic beautiful cities further south like Agropoli and calabresi cities like Tropea or cute towns like San Nicola arcella..

Most of Italy has great beauty and little tourism. In fairness, he does mention this fact frequently throughout his videos, but yes, he is plugging his tours. In my brief visit there (about a month) my favorite memories centered on car rides to nowhere in particular and wandering around my father's hometown. (Gaeta)

5.04 is Amalfi , not Sorrento

    • @steveosborne2297

Bit confused by your comment. At 5.04 he’s talking about Amalfi.
At 4.04 he’s showing an overview of Sorrento harbour??!!

@@steveosborne2297 Salerno is a jumping off point for the Amalfi Coast. Sorrento is all the way around to the other side. But sure Sorrento is a good place to stay. Start off with Vietri sul Mare and all the ceramic shops.

    • @steveosborne2297

@@123benny4 No Salerno is further to the south , Sorrento is the other side of Peninsula but there’s no easy way to get across it to the Amalfi Coast .
However during the summer I wouldn’t go anywhere near the Amalfi Coast you just can’t move for tourists which spoils everything about it

@@steveosborne2297 Totally agree. I just got back from Naples and spent a day in Salerno and Vietri. I went to Amalfi, Positano, and Sorrento years ago. Very touristy indeed. I went to Pozzuoli and Bacoli this time around and could see the islands of Capri, Procida, and Ischia. Will have to make it to them next time around. I have relatives that live in Caserta so am very familiar with the area.

what do you mean by "intensity" of naples?

    • @BubinoXD
      @BubinoXD 6 років тому +4

satinsolstice well... Naples is noisy, overpopulated, chaotic, though it is the most lively, colourful, poetic city of Italy so far. I think that Naples is the city that best represents Italy, it seems like this city has its own soul. The most beautiful city in Italy (that’s my opinion).

In questo video ci sono tante inesattezze e stereotipi, l'Italia del sud e molto difficile da capire e soprattutto da spiegare, specialmente a stranieri.

I don’t think north and central Italy are difficult. I disagree. The south is like a different country and they were. Naples is like marseille kind of crazy. And I. Am sorry Capri is a joke in summer. Nope.

2:04. This is shameful. Rick makes people believe that in Italy there are piles of garbage on the streets and therefore the streets stink. Absolutely false. Naples is the exception in Italy, not the rule. And now that problem has been partially solved, but in the rest of Italy this problem has never been there. Really bad presentation.
