BMW Motorrad still has it! Gone are the days of the dull single headlight. For 2025, BMW presents the new S 1000 R and M 1000 R with the aggressive look fans have been asking for. Technically, too, there’s progress with more power and optimized electronics.

The blue and neon yellow S1000R for me please. But I already have an Aprilia Tuono 1100 V4 non factory.The riding postition on the BMW looks more extreme with lower bars. I need higher bars thus increasing comfort.

I'm not a fan of BMW, however they significantly improved their design here over all their previous versions, but the M version NEEDS to pre-installed Öhlins all-around. You cannot be spending over €30K on this M version and NOT have Brembo Stylemas along with Öhlins rear shock, front damper and front forks. This is 100% unacceptable if you can buy MotoGP inspired and winning tech that puts that on the Ducati Streetfighter V4S and Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory both which have all of this for under €28K.
BMW also lacks the winning world stage pedigree with the exception of what Toprak just did for their brand. BMW nice design , but the hardware needs to step up to the level of Ducati and Aprilia. Even Truimph Speed Triple RS has this stuff.

Regardless, the bike loses 10k or more in value after 2 years. I looked into selling my 2023 MR that has 13k km. At best, I will get 17k euros. On this basis, I will keep it and let my mates use it whilst I get the 2025 MR, just so I can lose another 10k euros 😂 But boy, is this bike fun.
