Good video there joe one question to ask if adding a carbon monoxide alarm to a smoke alarm circuit isn't allowed due to BS standards how does the Google smart alarms comply as those have both smoke and carbon combined into one unit

only from the information from the video - I believe that this should clear that up:
Carbon monoxide fire detectors, or multi-sensor detectors incorporating a carbon monoxide sensor, should not be used within premises, unless:
1. The detectors are incorporated within a Grade A system…..or
2. A fault warning is given to indicate the need to replace the electrochemical cell of the detector before it reaches the end of its anticipated life.
So, as long as the google smart alarm has this fault warning, then it would comply.

Fantastic video.
Is it true that the heat detector and carbon monoxide detector should be at least six to eight feet from the cooker and boiler. Ie in the kitchen in the video the heat detector and carbon dioxide detector should be on the opposite side to the cooker as a minimum or one of each at each end of the room . Fantastic video as always Joe 👍

Carbon monoxide detectors cannot be installed in a room with a gas cooker! The rules applied to the positioning of CO detectors is not that easy to understand!
Following the installation instructions is crucial!
Gas Safe need to work with the electrical industry to clarify this confusing situation!
