Nice video. Good job getting the cowl apart. On a side note I try to save the brackets from cowl to rear apron. The aftermarket ones fit poorly. Keep at it.
Smart idea to put some POR-15 all metal before seam sealing especially around those Air vent tubes and also underneath the dashboard and all of the flooring
My cowl panel was all full of spot weld holes from when I drilled out the spot welds so now I've got a panel thats all rough and has like a saw appearance on the edges of/to it
Good video. The problem virtually all those cars have, is the plain metal vents. They always rust & leak. The new e-coated pieces should solve that problem.
Id want to paint it to match before fitting and welding top cowl of course. Im not looking forward to this job but at least you make it look doable for an average shade tree mechanic. Where can i buy that grinder?
I agree i would've liked to have color matched it but thankfully the primer will be close to the color i have chosen, and when sprayed some paint should get in there!
Great video - quick question. The lower cowl piece with the fresh air vents - when it rains, where does water go? How does it drain out of there without flowing down into the cab of the car?
Your doing a frist class job. Crappy original design. unpainted sheet metal and a tiny water drain that was bound to clog up with leaves and dirt. I only have a tiny leak in my 65 but I know it will get worse if I don't do something about it.
FYI… Silence is far better than annoying disco music! Every time I go looking for content on youtube there is some guy who thinks we want a closeup of his mug while he states obvious comments AND annoying music.

Thanks for the feedback!
Nice video. I’m doing the cowl on my 68 this weekend. I found a lot of useful stuff that should help me out. Thanks.
Thanks for the kind words! Glad I could help!

Nice video sir. The small belt sander seems to be a far better option than a spot weld bit. I really suck at using it. 😆

Nice work! Is the finger belt sander working out good for you? Wearing out belts quickly?
One belt will usually work for a whole panel!
How much would this cost in a body shop in dollar's
Good job man do u think when the cowl is out it would be easier to do a complete firewall if u had to?
for sure! definitely if the cowl needs to be replaced anyways!
How many hour did it take you to remove an replace cowl. Nice job
Quick question, how much would a shop charge for this job to be done ?
It would probably be pretty expensive due to how much is involved.
How much in dollar's

Thanks! yeah a tiny leak will become a massive leak like mine!
