So fun to see Peaty struggling a bit with sharlping corners ahah, because I don't understand the movement myself. Made feel better to see this legend not getting it that perfect!
The trick seems to be to come in quite square, have the front wheel hit the berm at a sharp angle then unweight the rear wheel completely so it arcs around into the berm. Pretty pointless imo as you lose all your speed and make your tyre wear out twice as quick. I prefer a good old round Sam Hill drift where he actually carries a shitload of speed while skipping half the turn..
you don't become one of the best riders in the whole world for 20 years and lose it after a couple of years of not competing. he'd still be fast AF even if he's not trying
When I was a young racer you guys offered me a place on the syndicate team...it was through Hook it Sports many many years back. I couldn’t afford the kit to be on the team though I sure do wish I bought it all on credit and see where it took me....to all you young racers out there...just keep it up...keep your head up and know that some races will end harshly while others will set the tempo for many years...just keep at it.
I started riding DH and such in 2001. Did it on and off until 2010. Trying to come back now and with the changes in bikes and riding styles it's like a whole different sport than I remember! This video pretty much nails it. So cool to see!
Man I remember back in the day watching chain spotting. Going to Birmingham nec when the bike shows were actually good.. Looking at peaty GT LTS with my school mates. He's still a beast and we still in awe of him 20 odd yrs later.
Loris’s passion for riding is totally infectious, watching him ride , or talk about riding. I’m like Peaty on corners brake and set, only with a lot less quality than Peaty ❤️🤘
Interesting note said here about how much Berm is in modern Trails. As fun as they are, I feel its taken out a lot of the Challenge. The Trails we built 20years ago would catch you off guard real fast, mostly due to the clandestine nature of old school track building, but for all their faults I think added more challenge, But way less refinement, not that I want that back really.
Thanks for posting Syndicate dudes . Real entertaining content Loris is a cool guy but that was a just one big bucket of peak Peaty. Has he ever thought about brewing beer ?
The earlier riders, as Peaty and Loris chat, gives you perspective on how fast these guys are when they Sccchrralllppp at the end 🤟 I’m coming back as a pro dh in my second life, it just looks like one big party 😂😂
I suspect Peaty and the old school technique is due to being more gentle/smooth on the bike/wheels/tires due to them being more likely to break back then.
I can't 'shralp' but it seems you need to get the tyres sliding on the loose stuff on the inside and eventually grip on the berm half way through the corner.
Cool video, I think once your around berms enough you realize sometimes the are overkill and you don't need the who thing, and if your trying to get down the mountain fast you might not need much of it, or any of it. I got disqualified from a NORBA DS event because I didn't use a usless berm but pedaled through it on the flat on the inside while still being on the correct side of the gate, sports politics.
On his race runs Loris enters the turns hot, turns in aggressively and abruptly which compresses his suspension at turn in and at the exit the rebound accelerates him out. Back to back turns you will see him gaining speed in areas some are losing time.
Steve Peat utter legend but every time i watch him i just think Jason Mcroy and what a talent we have missed. Sorry peatty i dont know why and it doesn not in anyway shape or form take from your achievments. Hats of to the both of yous.

mao gyud bai
shralps are better when accidental

Peaty, what a legend! He was my hero when I started mountain biking about 20 years ago and he’s still quick!😊👍🏻
Same here
Same same !
Damn, Peaty is still fast af
Correct.
you don't become one of the best riders in the whole world for 20 years and lose it after a couple of years of not competing. he'd still be fast AF even if he's not trying
Whoa peaty........smooth as silk and always humble.
More of these edits please.
Yah, man I miss The Syndicate.
Seeing Peaty’s Power Pedal signature move brought back memories of flicking through Dirt Magazine back in the day.
Peaty is so old school he videos vertically.

Fu-ing love Peaty. He will always be a legend... The man I grew up watching and we are the same age. Still rips after all these years.

Thank you for the encouragement! Will remember that.
Peaty was so good in GOT. Loved that flaming sword.

I love the playful fun being poked at this cool, hip term/skill of Shralping. Not all of us have got it or understand it xD
Just gotta love that old legend of a bugger hahah

All time boys! Cheers
Great video!
Love this.
Loris was thinking of this lesson on his world champ winning run.
Peaty should have grown that beard 15 years ago. Makes me wonder if Loris can grow one??
peaty- "i dont know how i did it but it happned" hahaha my motto for life that lol
Cool vid guys!!!
But I think the longer wheelbase will make it harder to shralppp!!!
Wish we had some corners like that to schralp!
Met peaty last year at bikepark Wales, still legit fast!! 👊
The earlier riders, as Peaty and Loris chat, gives you perspective on how fast these guys are when they Sccchrralllppp at the end 🤟 I’m coming back as a pro dh in my second life, it just looks like one big party 😂😂
hope to see the boys on the track this year.
Sound effects with The Syndicate
Minnaar might be the grates Bruni is the game, but Peaty is legend and no one explains better bikes and biking than Loris!
Man, I have missed Loris talking to the camera this year.
6:18 Leaves Loic speechless and feeling like a little boy LoL
Loris kit looks really sick
I suspect Peaty and the old school technique is due to being more gentle/smooth on the bike/wheels/tires due to them being more likely to break back then.
That's a fine beard!
Let's get some super long super so-called 'old school' tracks back onto the WC circuit just to be evil with the newer whipper snappers!

Steve fucking Peat, guy is a absolute legend
On his race runs Loris enters the turns hot, turns in aggressively and abruptly which compresses his suspension at turn in and at the exit the rebound accelerates him out. Back to back turns you will see him gaining speed in areas some are losing time.
Can’t remember the track. But I remember Aaron Gwin scoping out the first corners as Loris went through and Gwin went ‘I cant do that!’
Need a @ben cathro timing session
it thought those corners felt a bit shagged last weekend
Shraaaa, uhaaa, uh, shshrrrr, wuaaa, gggg, woah, papapa, dada-hu, piep-piep, … 👍🏼😜
Peatty is becoming Hammish from Braveheart
Where can I get such a nice jersey....it would be fit to my Nomad.......Helpful tips from two Pros.......Thank you......
Top video
It's so sad seeing Steve look like an older man . I hate getting old .
Steve Peat utter legend but every time i watch him i just think Jason Mcroy and what a talent we have missed. Sorry peatty i dont know why and it doesn not in anyway shape or form take from your achievments. Hats of to the both of yous.
I fucking Love peaty I'm from Sheffield and if you read this let's get Wharncliffe built again!
that awkward moment when you see yourself cornering really badly in a video about cornering
So I’m not the only one that doesn’t like shralping. I prefer to carry speed.
Old but not rusty :)
"Slow down!" xD
Is that Peaty or Thoros from Game of Thrones?
Lol...spot on!
before he looked like dennis pennis?
does peaty do much with rat boy any more?
Peaty still a machine and rapid. Peaty needs a skinhead too.
