I love how Nelly was willing to try different genres of music in his career. That's why he was my favourite rapper from the Y2K era.
From Country Grammar to Nellyville the dude delivered with every track. I miss artists like him so fu**ing bad.
2 different life styles
2 different music styles
But they came together to make 1 incredible song that will never get old.

One of the best!
Never understood why Nelly's name is not mentioned more in the debates of favorite rappers. He definitely carved a lane of his own and gave Hip-Hop a passport.
He’s my celebrity crush!!!! Always a fave for me
Not to mention his collaborations with other country artists like Florida Georgia line and most definitely this is my favorite colab!!
Nelly had the balls to be different and it made him one of the best to ever do it in my opinion.

@No One I was into country and rap also and most people would say they liked everything *but* one or the other...
Even better, my favorite country artist was tim McGraw and my favorite rap artist was Nelly.
So this song was complete jackpot for me.
This song is a masterpiece. How it blends two different genres of music together, goes to show we are not that different from one another after all.
A kindred spirit FINALLY 🎉❤
Thought we ALL had died out N this crooked world😊

Technically it’s not two different music genres…they are both under the umbrella of Blues.
@@slickrick8046right. That’s why it blends
Yeah 👍, when you get that feeling of creativity and you want to take it a step 🪜 further, it shows. As a writer, I go everywhere; meaning, it doesn't have to just be gospel. I can write ✍️ a song from every corner and for any and everyone.
I can just listen to the early 2000’s music forever, over and over again.
Same. I’m 20 years old. I’ll be 21 in 5 days. I know I couldn’t go to club and hear these masterpieces and have fun. But I did something even better. I grew up with these masterpieces and had fun as a child during that era. I miss those times. Life was good.

Yea :,)
It is cool that a country white guy and an urban black guy can commiserate. Love this song.
Urban? Actually Nelly is a country guy as well, not from a busy city. But the collaboration is odd and great.
Jasmine Jones He represents St. Louis-so yes, urban-not country.
Timothy Donaghue Nelly grew up in the suburbs, he's always had country roots
Did you mean collaborate or commiserate? I think many people around the world commiserate over the same things... Since most sad things are universal it makes sense that commiseration is pretty easy. Empathy is a truly human emotion. Sorry for being so pedantic. Was just curious...
Tim Mcgraw is amazing. As a country fan, I few this as a colab with a rapper instead of a white guy and black guy.
2024 , he was way ahead of the game
Absolutely over &over again
This proves that no matter who we are or the color of our skin that we are all the same inside an go through all the same things.

I was thinking the same thing. Our era was the last and best era. It's over now, all we got now is the memories.
Tim McGraws voice always gives me chills on this song, it's very few and far between you see Hip-Hop cross over with Country and even more rare for the song to be as good as this, it's not easy to pull off and i give them both so much respect for making such a masterpiece, sucks this song had to end up applying to me but oh well.
As well as the fact Nelly really showed his diversity as an artist because most people wouldn't think the guy who made Country Grammar could sing this well and switch his flow up to fit a Rap/Country mix.
