Nuno Mendes plays 3-4-3 system on Portugal team. He is one of the 3 "defenders" in the back. Check where he is most of the time in the field, either in the Portuguese team or PSG: Attacking, both on the wing and through inside. On the contrary, Martinez is mostly back. Never attacks. That's why a 3-4-3 system without players from the back participating in the attack, makes it a disadvantage when attacking, it's like playing 10vs11. Nuno Mendes in most of PSG games is worth 20% of the entire team effort and quality, attacking and defending. It's just stupid that they don't see how important he is in the team and didn't raise him. With Rafael Leão, on the same side playing along, they are super powerful.

What I like most about Mendes and haven't seen pointed out much is his intermittent underlapping runs on the edge of the area, I think we've sorely missed that in the Utd attack and I think that one trait alone from that position would add so much more venom to the utd attack.
Imagine having a world class LB like Nunes and lazy Rashford gone, GK is def needed too, who can command the box and a shot stopper ,not just good with his feet, must have top GK skills first and foremost.

Wingback is just one problem for Manchester United. The biggest problem for United since Moyes is the midfield. Amorim needs to fix that ASAP. Cant win anything with Mainoo, Erikson, Casemiro, Mount and Bruno. Mainoo, Casemiro and Erikson and Bruno are unbelievably slow. Mount is the only no.10 player that can work well in Amorim system and he is injured everyday.
And both would be way more expensive. We're interested in this guy, in part, because he isn't signing a new contract at psg and so will be available for a reduced price. Kerkez and A.N. have no such issue and play for prem teams, so both will be £50m, atleast probably. £35m for nuno mendes is a good deal. Great player and not too expensive.
