Really do people think the separation of church and state was to keep the church outta the state? It was intended to keep the state outta the church , not the other way.
No, the First Amendment made it clear. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. So, in other words, no laws can be made to make it possible for church to be established in state affairs. The Supreme Court agreed. Engel v. Vitale (1962) The Supreme Court ruled that school-sponsored prayer in public schools is unconstitutional because it violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.
This also brings up another issue. If a church can offer school children a Bible based education via the school. Then, every religion will also have the right to do so. That is why the Satanist are now doing it. Yes, Satanism is now legally considered a religion. It was established as such in 2019.
@@DigitallySavedThat's incorrect. The first amendment is a restriction on Congress not a restriction on state government. A state can have laws in favor of religion. Many states had their own official state religions .

Ummm, tell that to Thomas Jefferson. He was a cheif architect and signer of the constitution. He wasn't even a Christian.... perhaps that is why he created the First Amendment. The establishment clause literally tells us that the government can not create laws establishing religion or prohibit anyone from practicing any religion as they wish. Thomas Jefferson was also our third president and the writer of the Danbury letter to the Baptist church outlining the separation of church and state. Thomas Jefferson didn't believe Jesus was God, did not believe in his resurrection, and did not believe in the miracles just to name a few.
