You are right, seems that the world is no longer in control by adults but by people doing as little as possible for maximum return and sod the consequences. Shame really
Those (now) old fruit machines - people in Australia used to call them "One armed bandits". 🦾💰🔥 The amusement slot machines depicting beheadings and torture in Ye Olde England were not something I would've thought of taking the kids to see 🤔 Still, I do miss the pinball machines.
@@jasonayres Hi Jason, it's great to hear from you. I totally understand why those machines were referred as "one-armed bandits." 🎰And the bandits didn't need to do their thieving by riding on a horse or have in their company a robber's dog.
@@jasonayres Perhaps the crafty devil's advocates intended the "comfy chair" to ease the burden (prolonging the pain) of being fleeced off one's hard-earned pennies!!!! 🤷
@@richardtheeighth4431 Yes, Sir. I, for one, will never be so gullible! If I'm going to lose money, I'll lose it on investments that I was guaranteed a good return on! Like the solar powered car fan, that, far from cooling down the car, actually melted on to the door! Or the 'infrared lights' that were supposed to stun mice when they ran past. They ran past, alright! Like it was a discotheque! But gambling? Nah. Phooey!
There is a place up in Eccleston called Bygone Times. They have a collection of old penny arcade machines. There is some videos on this channel of some in action ;)
It's terrible, kids staying inside and wasting all thier money on silly games, they should be playing outside with a piece of string like I did when I were a lad! 🤓
Back when people spoke proper on the telly box. Init!
Also lovely how well they spoke to each other

And back when kid's TV was not dumbed down.
It’s a shame they walked by and totally ignored the “Gents Only” one... nudge, nudge, wink, wink... know what I mean? Say n’more!
that's so funny, I hadn't noticed that! ooh err misses... 😁
...i bet She does, i bet She does!
:)
Men love the company of eachother
I wonder if these machines are in a museum now? That would be fun. The Laughing Sailor was always amusing too.
Milestones museum in Basingstoke has working machines like these.
Slot machines, particularly pinball machines, even in 2021remain popular collectable items, and they're so much fun to play. 💯🤣😂🤣

Wonder where his collection is now? I would love to see them in person.
They were auctioned a couple of months ago. Google "John Gresham slot machines", UA-cam won't let me link to the article for some reason.
@@therealobanir thank you, will check it out.
I wondered too.
As a kid, we used to enjoy the ones in the seafront arcade in Hastings in the 70s
Class machines.
Many of these machines were only 40 odd years old at the time the programme was made.
That would be like having 1980s items nowadays.
my man left us
This is absolutely brilliant! Where is his collection now?

This is Magpie. The cool alternative to Blue Peter.
Magpie was just like Blue Peter only the presenters were stoners.

He bought 300 machines over 7 years. What's that? About 40 machines a year
I think I once saw this man naked in Budgens.
