On the storybook theme, one movie I have not seen brought up is Bedknobs and Broomsticks. In that movie, they actually jump into the book and go to an animal world. I definitely would not mind having some of those characters because they are so fun!
I have this theory that it will be a 'Day/Night' or 'Dark/Light' thing. You use the Book as your new tool to cast a spell that takes you between day (Hades and Mythology) to night (Maleficent and Fairytales) and you will need to use it in places to pass certain areas - like, you start a quest in the Day with Hades, you gather the items for the quest by going into the Night. It's the same Biome, but it's day and night, dark and light, so really you get twice as many biomes. Maybe the Library is like the final area, like the Palace in Eternity Isle, or the Ancient Ruins, both of which open up in later acts. The Palace and Ancient Ruins are huge, big enough to require a loading screen, so suppose the Library is also huge, 'General' is like the first area you enter. These are after all just file names. Eternity Isle had its biomes split up into multiple parts, so perhaps that will be the same here. I also can still put money on every character being from a different universe, like in Eternity Isle, although hopefully this time there will be a common theme between them (last time it was just 'Characters Gameloft wants to sell'). I'm not sure if I want Jack, but you know, I'm not saying I don't. It just feels weird to have a Live Action character in among all these animated characters; as popular as he is. After the argument Disney and Johnny Depp had, I can see him being both free and a surprise.

Technically,Pirates of the Caribbean uses quite a bite of mythology and legend through their movies. From Davey Jones to Calypso to the Brethren court to sirens, Blackbeard, and more. Wouldn’t be a stretch to put Jack Sparrow into the mythology side biome, or even him randomly appearing and taking us on his ship to get to the Storybook Vale in the first place.
So this entire speculation makes me wonder about the two major types of storytelling - the classic 'hero's journey' alike to epics like the Iliad, Odyssey, Gilgamesh, etc. which is very Hercules inspired, and the more modern way to tell stories, giving that 'happily ever after' vibe Disney is most known for. So I can only imagine we'll have something similar to Eternity Isle, where there's conflict among stories, among heroes and villains, and am I the only one who thinks 'Storybook Vale' is very OUAT??? I personally think GL is taking inspiration from that, very 'heroes and villains,' 'good vs. evil,' and I think they'll play with what makes someone a hero or villain, like they already do (I loved Scar's friendship questline, they did him so well imho and is now one of my faves) and kinda redemption-ish. Just my thoughts hehe

I can see them building on existing universes already in the game. For example - fairytale characters - Cinderella. We already have Fairy Godmother. For mythology I think they might give us Hercules, but I think Merida from Brave could also fit. Leaning into the Scottish mythology. I like the idea another commenter mentioned about day vs night. I feel like we got a small taste of this during some of the questing in the Laboratory with spinning the hourglass. Excited for this expansion. I would love if they had a back door access point to Maleficent’s castle/ fairytale biome through the dark volcano in the Forgotten Lands. I could see them also giving us a back door access point to Mythology/ Hades’ underworld through the skull rock or Ancient Ruins in Eternity Isle. Then you can access the General lobby biome through the boat lobby we can access from the castle. The way we accessed Eternity Isle the first time before we unlocked fast travel.
For pets my ideas are Owls, Baby Dragons, Kids (baby goats) and moles And my idea is that Maleficent and Hades were a couple and an argument about the new macguffin caused them to split
so many thoughts. first that book makes me think of the movies that start with the opening book sequence, obviously sleeping beauty but others like snow white the OG or Pinocchio. another comment mentioned Brave as mythology and thats what the ripped tapestry could hint at too. I love the idea of owls like Artemis for the library. it seems they try to pull from disney universe and keep them smallish, so this also leaves mice, chipmunks, chameleons, salamanders like Bruni. I still secretly hope for deer, beers, or horses/pegasus. They added the Disney Fairies as a clothing/furniture category, I don't know if we will get fairies as companions or actual characters. They also love to drop spoilers in the designs and reuse things like you said, so I'm also betting one of the fruits we will get in the expansion is watermelon and possibly pomegranate if that's what's in the basket in the market set. Pomegranate also plays really well into the mythology biome and Hades.
Im going to guess at 3 biomes. Since the files are audio related, I believe the "general" category is more coded for people using streamer mode that can't use DMCA audio. The "Library" biome is the starting point with the book, and interacting with the book will take you to or educate you on either "Fairytale" or "Mythology" themed biomes.

Hercules was in the survey but Hades wasn’t and this is why he wasn’t there. For this expansion I see Celia, Aurora, Triton, Milo, Pinocchio, Blue Fairy and of course Hades and Maleficent

I think the library will be a structure to the north of the new map like Jafar's Palace on Eternity Isle. It makes more sense as a structure than a biome.
Also there are game files that mention Aurora for the new update so I think it’s very possible that it opens with sleeping beauty being asleep and we have to quests to awaken her
I wonder if general could just be music coming from the area where we will go to get to the new expansion, we will appear into the library and then go off into Fairytale or mythology like how we show up in Ancient Landing on Eternity Isle

I slightly disagree about not needing a new tool. Not because I think we need a new one, BUT this dlc did give us a new tool and scramblecoin. I feel like those were big selling points for some people, and the new dlc has to offer us SOMETHING of value in a similar way. At least I hope. I’ll be excited to see if we get a new mini game, maybe even the possibility to play the new one and scramblecoin with friends in multiplayer etc. I’m very happy with the direction things are going so far, so I can’t wait to see what they have planned. I also had an unrelated thought, but it’s worth mentioning. I remember the survey they gave us quite a while ago with themes like cottagecore, Greek mythology, princess, etc. I expected it to take a while for us to get those items, but I have felt a bit disappointed that we haven’t seen much from it yet. I would say there are a few hints to it in the premium shop, but that’s more felt like something to hold us over until the real thing comes. My theory is that this dlc is going to have a LOT to do with things we all voted for in the survey, and I think they really tried to build it for what the majority of players asked for 🤞🏻🤞🏻 my hopes are high, possibly higher than they should be lol

I would counter that with, our Peter Pan clues have been coming in the form of premium shop items and furniture categories. I’ve been taking all of that as a sign to be patient, but I almost feel like it’s guaranteed at this point. so my prediction is that Jack sparrow will not be released himself, but rather he would talk to you through skull rock. I believe that they will release him next spring and that he will be part of a free update that they will keep it as DLC versus free.. that way they can lure people in to pay for DLC.
My thoughts on the book im thinking its gonna act as something like the rift in rift in time it may lead to another type of relam or maybe some ppl got trapped in there and when we unlock them we unlock biomes lol just a thought ik its kinda crazy but this is where my mind went

We don't know much about the next major expansion just yet, but in a recent dev blog, the devs stated they're planning a showcase for later this year.
Haven't finished the video but had to throw this idea here. MysticCub85 here... what if the dlc is just 2 biomes and the other 2 are for the second act of the story. The general is a biome people have been asking for which is for dreamsnaps that we can rinse and repeat and the library is part of the second act story. As for mythical and fairytale that's dlc?

Haven't finished the video but had to throw this idea here. MysticCub85 here... what if the dlc is just 2 biomes and the other 2 are for the second act of the story. The general is a biome people have been asking for which is for dreamsnaps that we can rinse and repeat and the library is part of the second act story. As for mythical and fairytale that's dlc?
