I'm glad to see this game blossom into what it is now, but i gotta be honest, for a pre-rendered cinematic, this trailer's lookin' a little rough. The dragons themselves move stiffly, have no wind ripples through their wings or hair (they look REALLY static going down the waterfall), and look a little like play-doh up close.
This.. definitely needs way more polishing and work done. This is Unreal Engine 5, yes? This looks like a PS2 game with little to no textures. DoD is already in a wishy-washy situation, and if they want any kind of redemption or second wind, they better get their assets together.
I think its funny how every Dragon survival game in this comment section gets its hate, thats another reason that pushes the phrase "You cant make it right for all." yes the teaser Trailer looks a bit off, asspecialy with those stiff Animations but at least they dont pump all their money into just a Trailer and make the game (or 1.0 Update) in this case unfinished like some other companies. What i like the most is that when the trailer shows the Real game (or a big part of it) some random unexperienced person will blame it for not looking good and such, but when you make a photo realistic trailer with great graphics etc. someone will comment and/or make a wohole video on UA-cam about it showing "not includet" content which is totaly False in any way. Yes it had its rough back story but at least the game now, (or at least 1.0 so far) looks really good in my eyes! And for someone who had much of fun with the beta already without full Release its Totaly fine. 'Dont Rate the Trailer, rate the actual game when it comes out and then we can continue talking about that.' I think the game so far looks pretty good and rather puts its money into making the game than a trailer that looks great. So please stay tuned for the actual game Release and then Review it in a more professional way to actually help the devs make it better! Thats my opinion on the current status of the game but everyone has its own.
There’s so much hate going on for this and it’s honestly wild. I think people forget this is an indie game backed by its small team of devs and its community, not something backed by a large studio. It’s really incredible how far they’ve come with all the limitations they’ve had to work with and the community love and support is amazing to see and to be a part of. Not every game needs to look like a billion dollar CGI project held up to film standards. That’s not how it works in the gaming industry and especially when doing it indie. This game is making great progress and I for one look forward to seeing how it grows. Keep up the good work, it’s Beawesome!
I thought the teaser was nice, but I wish there was a physical variance between the two dragons. It's very strange to see two creatures with the exact same pattern as if copy-pasted (especially at 0:52 ). I would have liked to see small differences between the same species, perhaps even dimorphism. Overall, the teaser looks all right, but it looks a bit rushed. Still, I'm excited to see more as it progresses!
I just bought this game and although there is not a lot you can do right now this game has so much potential! Is there anywhere I can read about all the things you plan to add to the game and the planned date for it to leave early access?

I feel like they did the trailer with bio on purpose. Those who follow the game dev knows all the cool stuff they've done so far, bio seems to be the wonkiest if not the only wonky dragon in the game. Its flight and model, so I guess it could be a bit of reverse psychology to hype up the actual trailer. Who knows

You are truly living the indie dream. Game development is one if not the hardest careers to accomplish dealing with various professional positions. I remember buying the game when it was that rlly old map that was just an oasis, and they really really old models, but laptop was abt 10 yrs old so I couldn't play it up until last year. And I've been playing it since then. Seeing what it is now after following every update, and every announcement, It just makes me even more excited. You guys have all outdone yourselves, you should feel proud :)
they made so much money through their kickstarter, how about using that to hire more good developers and textures. this team seems to be lacking somewhere.

Trailer looks great! Especially with the waterfalls on the mountain, however the mountain is cool and all but maybe add some megascans assets to it because right now it just looks like green play doh with not a lot of details.
@@Cross3x7 it's pre-alpha with a small dev team. I'd say so far they are doing a very good job. And they actually do have their own models for dragons unlike some games. It's very early stage, but I'd say the flying system so far is amazing.

I think people are being to harsh on this teaser trailer i've seen teaser trailers myself and they don't have to look perfect this trailer looks really epic and nice to me and i definately adore the beautiful butterfly like dragons here. Also im kinda bothered that most of the people here seem to act like they were waiting for some hyper realistic movie trailer or smh. I meam not everything irl looks extremely real and looks fake. Plants are a good example of thst like leaves or grass. Does it really have to have such extreme detail? Plus i think the actual trailer might look incredible so overall i am content with this
The bios really need more of a texture on their model. They look like plastic. Especially next to the other dragon models.

It actually has tiny scales, when I played it on open test if you zoom in really close it has small scales. Reminds me of a green anole.
