Hello, beautiful, specimen of bonsai! What species of tree is it? I would like to know why you nail the roots to the trunk, instead of wrapping them as if it were a normal graft. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
10$us wow.. this tree would be 500$ plus in the US. over 1000$ in high end shops probbly. very cool root graft tech. hope to learn/ teach my self grafting. eventually. not practicing on 500$ trees tho lol. thnks for shrring
@@bonsai-shinshi ... thank you. at 7:47, if the bark was cut off at root level, from all sides, one year ago, is not possible to get good radial roots, by keeping soil level same ?
"By the way this tree is about 10 dollars in Japan" ... Does anyone sell these online and ship to the USA? Thats an absolutely incredible tree for $10 usd ... Do you know any suppliers/shippers or websites who'd do this? Im aware of import of trees take time ... but would that prohibit someone from shipping these?
It blows my mind that you can cut away so much of a tree and it survives. This is so much more like sculpture than I expected

Wouldn't the small little grafted seeding roots excessively try to sucker? Id be interested in whether that impacted trunk thickening

Five minutes later (10:14): value of the tree: 500$ 😎💪
Sadly in the us people would want 300 dollars or more for that tree juts that size grow pot is 30 bucks.
I hope the day will come when people from countries other than Japan can buy bonsai at a bargain price.

Bonsai trees are Frankensteins of plant world
Why not just ground layer it ?
Because the distance between the bottom branch and the soil becomes narrower.

That makes no sense as a statement what so ever, you can not make a tree, you can only grow a tree.
The art of bonsai is what you can make, not grow, so his statement is correct although I see where your coming from.
