This is how I feel about a lot of things. Personally not the biggest fan of hysteria, but I love Bon Jovi, Greta Van Fleet, and many more Ralph hates but he’s funny as hell when he bashes things
I honestly like Hysteria too. High N Dry is my favorite. Ralph makes me laugh too.
I'm the same way with Crazy Nights.
I gotta say, Hysteria is everything I love about 80s rock. Just a perfect record.
I prefer Pyromania personally
I will say I did like it when it came out, but definitely not now. The first 3 never sound dated to me.

I’m glad you’re bashing Hysteria because as much as I like Def Leppard, Hysteria’s a very overrated record. Overplayed, overexposed, and more watered down than diet soda with melted ice.

Growing up and at the age I was in the '80s being in 7th grade and so forth you grew up in the hair metal era and you thought it was good music and you like Def Leppard, but then guns and roses came out and I said hey these guys are kind of cool and then Metallica dropped the song One on MTV these guys are badass and then Alice in chains dropped Man in the box and then Pantera and I knew what good heavy metal was my balls dropped I became a man.
I like both albums Dr Fuk! Your UA-cam channel sucks! That’s why I watch all the time! Love it! You rock!
Faster pussycat is way better than Def Leppard after hing n dry
Hysteria is ok, but in my opinion (even as a huge Def Leppard fan) is that either Pyromania or High 'n' Dry really deserve to be the band's flagship album.

I'm one of those people that didn't buy Hysteria till the video and single for "Pour Some Sugar On Me" came out. Previously, before Hysteria came out, I had the previous 3 Albums since 83. Now, I didn't love the singles before "Pour Some Sugar On Me" but that song got me to buy the album Hysteria. Why? Because it's such a stupid song to me, that it's actually funny to me as well. Like you say, it makes me giggle. I remember buying a song lyrics magazine, just to learn the lyrics to this song. Now, I will admit, I didn't like the album a whole lot at first, but eventually I've grown to love it, but not as much as the first 3 Albums, and a few albums that were released by Def Leppard after "Hysteria". But who am I to argue about the album that changed the world. I just wanted to give my honest take on Hysteria. Now, Faster Pussycat, I've never owned anything they released, because I was never a big fan of their singles. I agree with you Dr. F., I don't like Taime Downe's voice either, but I've heard worse. Sammy "cough cough". Anyway, I just wanted to say as soon as I saw it was a Suck Vs. Suck video, I had to watch it right away for the Comedic factor. Comedy Gold my friend. Take care.

With Hysteria, I liked the b-sides from the album’s singles.
Heck, I only remember “Ride Into the Sun” and the original “Tear it Down” (the Adrenalize version sucks) and both best everything on the album.

I truly just like the first two records by Def Leppard. Pyromania is pop rock and anything after that I’d rather listen to a NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK record And Faster Pussycat is just pure crap

I LOVE Hysteria, it was the album that got me into Def Leppard but I can completely understand why a fan of On through the night or High and Dry would HATE it !
It for me takes me back to Year 8 in high school and going to parties , making out with girls and hanging with Friends watching the music videos , of course Timeline is EVERYTHING.
Though I can be honest and now look at there first 3 albums and see they are FAR better.
Never heard Faster Pussycat outside of those horrendous songs on Decline of Western civilization part 2.
But I watch the Doc for his opinions not to mirror my own .

Call me a music sexist but to me it's just not cool to like a band where most of their fans at the concerts are girls, and that became Def Leppard with the release of Hysteria, but a few songs on the album I'm okay with and I have seen them a couple of times in concert, but I definitely do prefer the first three albums over anything that came later. I remember when high n dry came out they were mostly a guy's band but suddenly a couple of years later Pyromania came out and I started to see they were slowly becoming a band for the girls and I was like this sucks. I would be watching Mtv with several girls and they were always freaking out about the guys and I was like this is dumb as s***, then soon after that the hair band craze started to happen and the girls really went ape s*** and to this day other than very few exceptions I just can't stand hair Rock. I'm the kind of guy that I don't even like much of the early Beatles because those dumb screaming girls, but as their career went on all that started to fade away and they became cool when they grew some beards and grew their hair out and the music got tons better IMO

Def Leppard should have stopped after Pyromania. They have been very hit and miss (mostly miss) since then. I have to agree with your assessment of the songs on Hysteria. And I was really looking forward to the follow up to High ‘n’ Dry and Pyromania.
And never been a fan of Faster Pussycat.
And Sabotage is freaking awesome.

I have proof that Hysteria doesn’t suck. It was produced by Mutt Lange. Who produced classic albums such as AC/DC Back in Black and Highway To Hell, Foreigner 4, Def Leppard Pyromania and High n Dry, The Cars Heartbeat City. That’s right Mutt Lange is like The Terminator when it comes to Producing albums. 😜🤘🏼
