It’s so refreshing to see students who actually care about their classes and what they study. Even just the little things like having a discussion before class to prepare. I grew up with kids who never cared, it’s not their fault, it was our culture to hate any sort of studying. I even dropped from college cause I was doing everyone’s work and nobody cared. I started watching you a little over a year ago because I was looking for advice as a first semester during the pandemic. I loved this video , I feel like your content was a huge part of me feeling very motivated and serious about my studies, and learning to love the work. I was a middle of the road to "bad" student in secondary school and now i totally love my studies ❤ (i study english and pilosophy in the bachelor of education track). Through the pandemic i dont see many other people, but when catching up with my friends I notice how much more motivated to do well I am than them, and I think it's totally because you helped me see the joy in learning, thank you!!

Damn, watching this made me so glad I finished highschool this summer and decided to work instead of going to university/college. I've never found the motivation to study and I was really bad at school. The only subject I was really good at was math, not because I studied it more or actually put some work in it, but just because it was very easy and logical for me and I always understood every new concept right of the back. My teachers often told me how much potential I had and that I was wasting it since they thought I could have gotten really good grades if I only put a minimum effort in it. It always made me feel like a failure because I felt like I was throwing away my life/future, but I couldn't help it, I just never found any motivation to study or even to do all of my homework. My teachers/parents even said that I should continue studing due to my "potential" but I didn't listen to them and I'm glad I dindn't. Since I started working I feel so much better, I find the motivation to work easily and I finally feel valued again, pretty much for the first time since I started highschool. I totaly respect everyone who studies instead and even sacrifices their freetime for it, especially cause I never could. But It's definitely not for me and I'm glad those times are over... (P.S. I'm not a native speaker, so at least I have an excuse for any stupid mistakes xD I'm not THAT uneducated xD )
I live in Exmouth/Exeter so I really enjoy your University videos. It is intriguing how the city looks familiar but yet different when viewed from another person’s perspective.
This video in particular made me realize just how much time and effort you put into making these videos. Thank you for taking out the time. (P.S. I think Blaknley must have also been surprised/awed the first time she had seen u at it)
I really love to watch your vlogs as I am also a literature student in Germany (Spanish and English literature) and it is so thrilliing to see how passionate you are about your studies! It always keeps me motivated! :)
Nice to see someone studying at home. My observation of university students is they would often study at cafés and areas that with high traffic and noise. Last week I walked around around my local university and the Starbucks attached to the library was the filled while the dedicated study area was nearly empty. I’m also curious as to how many university students do their own cooking versus eating out. Glad to see you making a lunch to take with even when you’re running late.
I love weekly routines and very impressed you went swimming in this weather! I've really wanted to start going again. I bought an electric blanket a couple of years ago, it's just like a normal blanket (not the type you put over your sheet), so you can have it on your bed but also wrapped around or on lap etc when studying etc. It really saved me when my heating broke! I really recommend it.
I am in my first year at Exeter and am struggling with the pressure from my flat mates and friends to live the student lifestyle. Like going out every night and bringing people back to the flat is not my thing but I feel embarrassed that I don’t want to do that. I still go out once in a while maybe every couple of weeks but it’s just not my thing.
just some advice from an oldie here, but you do you, don't give into peer pressure. You have worked hard to get to university in the first place and while the social aspect is a part of university it is in the long run only a small part of the university experiance and you are paying a lot of money to be there to learn. Exeter isn't really a party city anyway so thats always a good excuse ;-). Otherwise I hope you are enjoying your course and the city overall!
Ruby thank you so much for doing these vlogs because I’m starting high school and seeing you keep it all together just brings me motivation and helps me keep it all together. So I just wanted to thank you. :)

I recently purchased an Oodie which is pretty much a big oversized hoodie/blanket! Would definitely recommend! It is so cosy and warm and most importantly super practical! loved the video xxx
Interesting comment you made about Titanic. I found that the licensing restrictions for USA block me if I try to use NordVPN to switch to UK or Paris to watch things not licensed for viewing in the USA but I can watch them on my iPad or I presume if I had a MacBook, I could do the same thing. So the streaming services are able to see you're still in the US with a Windows PC but not on Apple devices.
You said you were always running like 5 mins late TIP have an alarm clock or clock in ur room or house, and set it 5 mins earlier than the actual time atm. At first it feels time consuming - like you have to calculate the time every time you need to check it, but after the while it becomes normal, and when you think u r late, you end up being on time. Ive been doing this for years - since i was 11. HONESTLY it is soo helpful
You're so productive and I think you have a good balance of school work and other commitments. All videos of yours i watched says that about you and I keep telling myself to be productive too! I struggle so much with procrastinating and whenever I bring myself to do work I easily lose focus and motivation. I think I should follow your routine until I get used to a productive lifestyle 😂😂😂
Hi Jannah! Thank you for your kind words! I definitely wouldn't recommend somebody's routine specifically, but do sit down and note down habits and things which always make you feel good when you do them. Then try and make a brief routine (start with a morning routine) and implement that x
@@RubyGranger8 that's a wonderful advice. I'll write down some good routines and implement them slowly and hopefully consistently. Thank you for your advice! ☺
Dear Ruby, I watch those videos to feel good about being an introvert and studying a lot. In a century where people are praised for being extroverts, you bring me comfort and remind me of myself. I send you my warm hugs and I know you’ll accomplish everything you’ve set your mind into. Thank you!
I was so out of routine this month. Literally stopped making videos...not motivated to study anything. But i am trying to get better and get back on track ❤️
Ooh love that Hannukah music at 10:40 (Hava Narima by Levin Kipnis). Edit: just realised he didn't come up with the music haha, just the lyrics, still people in Israel would normally associate the melody with Hannukah
I love your videos so so much and i literally try to do all the things that you do but well i can't to do few things because i live in India and everything here is not the same...but your videos help me get motivated before my study sessions....i watch at-least 1 of your videos before my study session so that i have the energy and motivation that you have throughout the day...so thank you so much for all these amazing videos and for making my life better Ruby.
I'm not sure if anyone else is commenting on the temperature of your uni house, but 12.9??? Yes, you need all the hot water bottles and mugs of tea! My first year it stayed around 17, and I thought that was cold for an indoor temp! Love all the cozy and motivational content :) Thanks for helping me stay motivated during exam season!
It is very cold haha! That's exactly why there are *so* many hot water bottles! We really need to fix the heating! And thank you so much! I hope exam season went well xx
Yes, for you own sakes, please fix the heating! 12-13 degrees is way too cold when you're sat at your desk studying. It may sound unlikely but if you're constantly exposed to these temperatures you absolutely can get hypothermia - in your own house. Blankets and hot water bottles notwithstanding. And even if it doesn't come to that, it's not good for your physical and mental health to be cold all the time and can also negatively affect your cognitive performance. The WHO recommends a temperature of at least 18 degrees for people's houses (slightly lower during nighttime). Take care of yourselves!
Yes i was confused too, cause i stay at 23 degrees in my house during winter and i still feel chilly at times. Maybe it's because i live in another country and i am not very used to cold but i have googled it and it says your house temperature should be around 20 to 23 degrees. This is a very strange comment and i don't want to be rude but please before anything make sure you stay safe and warm😊😊💕
Would you consider making a video on how best to prepare for studying English Literature? I'm returning to education next September and would love some tips. Thank you 😊📚
Thank you soo much for this video I really feel.cozy wherever I watch your routine sometimes i watch them twice that what i love about your channel you are alwayse inspiring us ruby
this is how student life looks when you don't have to think about money, waitrose and john lewis shops with hand made tea.....i remember mine was way different trying to live week to week....so happy that ruby has worked hard to live a privileged life.
In most of Ruby's videos, such as the one she recently posted about assumptions, you can tell how very aware she is of her privileged situation in life. She states clearly that she owes much of what she is able to have and do to that privilege. My situation is different from hers and maybe more similar to yours. What I take from her videos is less a sense of jealousy and more of an inspiration to approach life with curiosity and interest, to look for small things, and to appreciate beauty where it comes to us. I've found that this approach has made a difference in my life. Plus, I study a similar course as she does and it's so wonderful to hear someone speak about the things I too enjoy.
@@asb2923 totally agree. i'm actually really inspired by how she is running a business, making money to support herself through her studies. its actually a really attractive quality of hers. Making money, starting a business is so much easier nowadays than when i was a student as the internet is in the palm of everyones hand. But i did struggle my way through like probably so many others are so Ruby is a great role model for people to just work hard and grind with side hussles to make life easier.

Ive been doing this for years - since i was 11. HONESTLY it is soo helpful
Its amazing how much stuff you get done
Your videos are so relaxing and make my heart in peace, thank you so much, and kisses from Brazil ♥
i love these videos, i feel less lonely when i watch them. These covid times makes me feel soo isolated. :(
I'm so sorry to hear that Valla. I'm sending much love your way x
@@RubyGranger8 thank you so much and sending love to you, too!
I was just looking for some motivational video and here it comes! Good job Rubyy
I barely think of Ruby as a student anymore. She seems more like a sophisticated young businesswoman or author.
This is the kind of wholesomeness I needed today. Thanks Ruby♥️
Dear Ruby, I watch those videos to feel good about being an introvert and studying a lot. In a century where people are praised for being extroverts, you bring me comfort and remind me of myself. I send you my warm hugs and I know you’ll accomplish everything you’ve set your mind into. Thank you!
This is such a truly warm and lovely comment. Thank you. I am sending lots of mutual introverted love your way x
I was so out of routine this month. Literally stopped making videos...not motivated to study anything. But i am trying to get better and get back on track ❤️
You definitely can get back on track -- but dont put too much pressure on yourself. Mental wellbeing ALWAYS comes first x
I love your style and your dark academia taste! I find you very stylish! Amazing video, not to talk about Tchaikovsky and Harry Potter😍✨
It’s so cool to see that you’re reading Taz’s book! I don’t know why it made me so happy x)
Wish I had friends like you who cared as much as you do about education ! :)
Ruby may you do a special video about the important points we must focus on it for a wonderful day 🙂
Hey lovely - study playlist recommendations … I love movie soundtracks or chilled classic - I read law hence the emphasis “read” lol
What is the song called at 5:06? Can someone tell me please?
Been loving the vibes on your channel so much lately!
ah thank you so much Karen!
Ooh love that Hannukah music at 10:40 (Hava Narima by Levin Kipnis). Edit: just realised he didn't come up with the music haha, just the lyrics, still people in Israel would normally associate the melody with Hannukah
I’m stunned. Ruby mailed a letter without a sticker on the reverse of the envelope. Enjoy the way you dress up many of your outgoing mail. 📮
i love your channel sm! such great study motivation. 👍
Love your videos Ruby, you help me stay focused. Stay safe❤
So many videos recently :D thank you ruby, hope you’re doing well
i love your videos and aesthetic, it makes me really motivated and relaxed (from Brazil)
Would you consider making a video on how best to prepare for studying English Literature? I'm returning to education next September and would love some tips. Thank you 😊📚
your videos always put me in the best mood and calm me down. ☺️ really enjoyed this one!! xx
Thank you Nina!
Your vidoes have great vibes I just love these cozy videos😍😍😍😍❤
Hope you're happy and well🌟
Aww, you used "Greensleves" as background music. :) I love that song. Reminds me of Anne Boleyn
Thank you soo much for this video I really feel.cozy wherever I watch your routine sometimes i watch them twice that what i love about your channel you are alwayse inspiring us ruby
Assia! That means so much 🙈
Ruby, what’s your Myers-Briggs type?
Have a great weekend everyone!
You motivate me so much. THANK YOU!
Im happy to see you Ruby!
this is how student life looks when you don't have to think about money, waitrose and john lewis shops with hand made tea.....i remember mine was way different trying to live week to week....so happy that ruby has worked hard to live a privileged life.
Exactly what I was thinking..not really a true representation of an average student Uni life having to make decisions on how to stretch a budget.
@@buleberryjam177gaming7 she never claimed to be an example of the typical uni experience, she's an example of her own experience
She didn’t work hard to get her privilege: her privilege is her parents’ wealth.
I like you're videos ruby. They( your videos ) always inspire me .
Hi Ruby! I love these routine videos. I was curious what that tablet was that you were using to write notes on the sermon? I'd love to get one.
Kudos to you for vlogging at uni!
It’s been so cool watching your progress in school and change. Yours is one of my favorite channels ♥️
Also, what is the device you’re using when annotating?
Thank you Lauren! That means a lot! And it's the Remarkable 2 x
