i may be 17 but i hope my silly girl and i stay together many years more. and god, this band is one of the best things i encounter, ill make sure punk never dies
The Descendents don't get enough credit for being as awesome as they are. My cousin Missy introduced me to Summary, when I was 15. (1993ish) Loved them ever since.
The way i interpret this song is that love makes you blind and someone that you love could have red flags you ignore over feelings and people will warn you that your making a mistake and you wont listen because you want to picture it turning out how you want and after the girl ends it your left thinking "how did i let myself fall for this". I find it pretty relatable honestly.

Got to see Descendents with Circle Jerks about a month ago at House of Blues. The setlist was approx 30 songs long and I knew every one by heart. But this one got me hyped like no other. Classic!
My sister turned me on to them when I was probably 12 and now my 10 year old loves them. She & I just saw them in Cleveland, it was soooo good & I really wish I could catch the Grand Rapids show coming up. I suggest seeing them if they are in your area, such a good time.
I dont give a shit if anybody tries to argue this, because im not gonna argue it. Milo Goes To College is and always will be the BEST Descendents record. The whole band had anger and ferocity, and Milo's voice was the best in that album. I have the LP and i listen to it everryday
I always more of a fan of the descendents harder songs like I'm not a loser, marriage, my dad sucks, but I've always really liked this song, it's got such a great surf sound to the guitar, the lyrics are a little silly and yes the pun us intended but the guitar work is great on this song.

Your pink dress on the setting sun
You were going to Grandma's house, I was too scared to come
My silly girl, I'm beggin you
Tell me all the things that I want to hear
My silly girl, I'm in love with you
I had to run to catch you,
You always moved so fast
With your cute little smile and your silly laugh,
God gave me love at last
My silly girl, I'm beggin you
Tell me all the things that I want to hear
My silly girl, I'm in love with you
They said just stay away
Right now I wish I had
I'm so in love with you, my silly girl
They made me go away
Sometimes life just isn't fair, but I'll be back someday
I hope you'll still be there
My silly girl, I'm beggin you
Tell me all the things that I want to hear
My silly girl, I'm in love with you
When you're just a silly boy like me, you're always so scared
Now I'm just out of luck, I wonder if you ever cared
My silly girl, I'm beggin you
Don't stop being a silly girl
My silly girl, I'm in love with you

Right now I wish I had
