Nice video and chase Northern VA Railfan right at 16:57 you see a good image of me waving from within the dome car. I had the sunglasses on my head at that time.
@@trentonspence4122 Well, not nearly as much, steam locomotive production on a regular basis ended years ago, but replicas have been built throughout the post steam era. There's a new steam locomotive being built, and instead of being a replica, it's a continuation of an extinct class, the Pennsylvania Railroad class T1 4-4-4-4. The new one's number is 5550 and is being built by the T1 Trust. It's said to be done by 2030.
Cool real cool me and my memaw were recently talking about weather or not steam locomotives were still built 1 thing she said was its probably gotta b a special request do u think that's true 2
In the words of Hyce (about driving a steamtrain): "You know you are doing it right, when your reading 6-chime whissle is being overpowered by the sound of the locomotive working!" (or something verry similar)
Hopefully a 611/2102 doubleheader excursion in the future could be an awesome site to see one day.
@@kevincleary4273 Yes, that too!
How about a 2102/1309 coal drag. Now that would be a sight!
@@haunter_1845 Yeah that too
Excellent video! The shot coming into Hamburg at the end with the sound of the two different whistles gave me goosebumps!
29:28 the Reading 6 Chime & the Hooter.
Incredible video man!!

Happy to see 2102 alive again!
Awesome video. I caught all 4 trips was definitely worth it.
Beautiful locomotive😃⤴️⤴️Wonderful scenery😉👍️✨Thank you for sharing :)
Very nice video thanks
A spectacular day. Thanks for riding along bro!
They are working the absolute hell out of that train. 10:50
Love it Garret! Glad you could get up there again!
The Reading T1 2102 looked brand new when shiny.
That's because she was just restored at the time of this video
Very nice production, hard to believe the Iron Horse Ramble season is completed for this year.
Yes, the last official Rambles, but they are running fall foliage trips in October
Northern VA railfsn you did amazing job filming that 2102😃😃😃
Thank you!
What is the iron horse rambles? Just steam powered? Where does it run from and to?
Why the two rear end diesel helpers at about 22 minutes? Backing up assistance or what?
SOmething like that. Apparently its faster and porabably safer
Was filming at the shops something you paid extra for? Or do they allow visitors?
In my experience, they generally allow visitors so long as you stay out of the way.
Just out of curiosity was this locomotive preserved or is it brand new
Preserved. It was built in 1925 as a 2-8-0 numbered 2044, then rebuilt into a 4-8-4 in 1945 and renumbered to 2102.
Thanks bud I wonder if steam locomotives r still built 2day and if so who builds them
