- VIrtual Basement have revealed brand new footage of The Wrestling Code featuring WWE Legend King Kong Bundy!
This new gameplay comes as part of the latest episode in The Wrestling Code's "Tech Preview" series, with the new footage showcasing the full entrance for King Kong Bundy, as well as previewing some of his moves.
Alongside the reveal of Bundy, the footage also gives us our first look at models for ECW stars Justin Credible, Raven and Tajiri, as well as independant stars Ruckus, Cabana Man Dan and Zach Gowen.
If the name Zach Gowen sounds familliar, you may remember him from his time in WWE between 2003-2004, as Gowen who had his leg amputated at age 8 would regularly wrestling without his prostechic leg. Given the footage of Gowen, he also looks set to wrestle on one leg in The Wrestling Code, which will be a unique challenge for the games developers.

I like it. But still no timetable of the game’s release date. I feel like it’ll never come out.
it looks worse than the first video they put out with tony chini and sandman. that one had lighting change demonstrations, weapons, and some fun character interactions to their animations to piece it all together. this just feels really stiff (not slow like bundy moving, stiff like the characters having moves done to them stop moving until they impact then do a flip)
Looks like it's pre pre alpha. This thing needs another console cycle.
I think it looked good
The first footage you saw of it up until the footage of Steiner looked great. This one looks like it's a past console. I hope for competitions sake it's more polished, if it ever comes out which doesn't seem likely as it's been 5 years now and this is all they have.
To see Zach Gowen in a video game is awesome

He can be found as a custom made character for FPW World. But there he has two legs, so...nope, not good. :)

These are the kind of legends I wish we got in the WWE games. Why do we need 5 John Cena models & the same legends we’ve had for the past decade?

The animations kind of make me think of what a modern day Lengends of wrestling would be like
So happy to see thay Raven is included. Not having him in a game for over 20 years is insane

The idea of guys like Bundy being slower while Ultimo Dragon being faster is a good idea on paper, However if it's not done right it will lead to a unbalanced gameplay.
Anyone who's played a fighting game will know just how much speed can make a character break a game.
Seems like these guys care way more about the wrestlers acting like their real-life counterparts than worrying about balancing. Which I'm down for, I'm just going to assume that some characters are going to be unbeatable
I play fighting games and I don't think that the wrestling games are trying to appeal to the Daigos and MenaRD's of the world.
@@yenkocamaro6965 At least by certain other characters. I rather like the idea of having to come up with an innovative way for Ultimo Dragon to secure a legit win over King Kong Bundy. Will definitely force players to actually learn how to play instead of spamming buttons all day

@@jessemersier5499not only that but I can see the balance being used in the power of the moves. Slower movements will most likely be more powerful while the faster moves will be less damage but can be used more in a match than powerful. If they mix that with your idea it could be a brilliant game
I like the models on this one. And it's nice to see some footage (albeit not in-game) instead of the radio silence we're used to having.
This looks really good so far. Bundy’s model is spot on. The entrance is awesome. The shouting sounds great. Excited to see more.

The effect is giving the smoke filled arena of the 70s and 80s vibe. I hope some arenas have that.
When I first saw the wrestler with one leg, I thought it was a glitch. But when I saw that there WAS a one-legged wrestler in real life, I understood
Aye man, Zach Gowan, pretty sure he got absolutely destroyed by Brock Lesnar in the early 2000’s
I had one of those gameshark discs back when they had PS2 games.
One had a code for "one legged wrestler", so I created a CAW of Zack Gowen and used the code and he plays with one leg (it is still there but the code makes it look invisible).

@loboneiner1034 The past assets are the wrestling moves. They completely have the same form and flow of the older THQ made WWE game and the 2K WWE games being made today. It's not hard to tell that the AEW game is more of a carbon copy of a classic WWE game like Bring on the Pain or any SVR game.

The animations do need improvement. I get that you want to have the movement being slower because he's big, but the thing is, for heavier objects, it's hard to start moving, and it's hard to stop.
What they have seemingly done is put a framerate increase for a heavier character without thinking about the moves as a whole, like 2K's odd fast-forward look in the games. If Grundy is running from one corner to another, it would take longer for him to reach top acceleration, but he'd crash into the other corner harder.
I think that those details should be either added at the end or left. I don't think that they should be worried about that now. And I don't think that Bundy was the best person to show this off. It looks very raw mocap. Not even just Bundy but everyone. I know it takes time, but I would rather they focused on cleaning up the moves so they look relatively good now than juggling Bundy moving like Master Oogway and Ultimo Dragon moving like he's on crack. Build the base of the cake, and add the decour later.
Im so pumped to have Tajiri sabu and ultimo dragon.
Wow another great legend in Wrestling Code! Hope to see someone like Hillbilly Jim or TJP in the game soon. I also knew that Haas and Benjamin will be playable, and so with Kurt Angle, the Angle team is offically come back!

I love that they signed Eli Drake on to be in the game while he was still with the NWA, and now they're still gonna have one of the WWE's top guys in their game. It's like an all positive version of what happened with Cody and the AEW game.
Sikoa is in the game as Sefa Fatu as well.
Like it so far one great thing this shows off the 5 count showcase which means over time they can just add more showcases as DLC which I'd be fine with for various Wrestlers

Even in Alpha, I'm very confused as to what that "roar" sound is? Is... is it supposed to be his voice? I guess it's a placeholder, but it's very... weird. Especially with the selling animation with the splash and elbow-drop being the same.
I didn’t realize Bundy had such a massive hate for ECW originals. And good Lord, what is that noise Bundy is making when he taunts? It’s sounds like someone is violating a seal.

This game is made by a small team who like you was not able to work for 3 years due to the Corona virus. The game has potential and still early. Just wait. Perfection takes time
I’m excited for the game. But the game will never reach perfection. We can’t have high expectations for this game or we’ll be really let down. And im 100% sure it won’t be better than wwe 2k24.

this game has been in development since, what 2018? They've mocapped so much and scanned so many people that I am gonna need to see a full length match from two of the hundreds of people they've done work for before I can get excited.

The game of wrestling code on ps5, looks good, and that model of king kong bondy looks amazing, nice model looks.
the animations remind me of WWF Raw on the Xbox / PC ( aka, not good ) but hopefully the overall gameplay makes up for it

very good visual model, the sweat and leaning on the ropes looks great... but those animations are weirdly bland and what is going on with the lighting? is this even gameplay or just examples of animations just pressing play ?
I love the slower pacing!
Bundy should feel different than Ultimo Dragon and that's the biggest missing element from 2k.
My only critique is the moves and bodies don't seem to be connecting right. But I'm confident that's still in development

Bro, this game been in development for like 3 years or something. And it’s not even close to being completed. I’m a patient man, don’t get me wrong. But the problem is we’re not really getting much with the previews.
I'm hoping there's a Season Pass of some sort because with all these wrestlers the DLC could be double the day one price.

Do Bundy's in-game arms need to be bigger, or was Bundy totally disproportionate IRL? I know he always looked like a walking thumb, but it really sticks out here with tiny arms.
I’m glad Bundy’s in the game, and if you like Indy wrestling, the roster is good, but I want them to put all their focus on finishing the game now. Keep signing these guys when we’ve been waiting for this game since COVID is starting to get old. They have nearly 200 wrestlers on the roster. Even with wrestlers you haven’t heard of, that’s pretty stacked. I want them to focus on finishing the game, without rushing of course, just so we get it sooner.

All of this is phenomenal and they're doing a great job. I know there's been a lot of impatient people complaining about the game not being out yet, same with Ultra Pro Wrestling. All I can say is be patient. Give Virtual Basement and Hyper Focus Games more time, both want to make their games great and fun to play and not rush it. If they did then the games would be like WWE 2K20 and no one wants another 2K20. A glitch fest. An unfinished game. Looking forward to more stuff from both UPW and TWC and I can't wait to play both games. Take your time guys is all I will say to the developers. Great to see King Kong Bundy in a wrestling game again and the idea to purposely slow the game play because of how KIng Kong Bundy wrestled in the ring is genius.

No they won't LA Knight will be in the game he made the agreement prior to joining the company
From what I was told everyone is locked in that signed before joining WWE, so we should still see them 🤞
I wouldn't be surprised if WWE ends up giving VB the order to remove Drake and Angle. I hope not, but I gotta say that my hope to see them stay in the game is very very low, at best. Cause TNA forced VB to remove Su Yung, Rich Swann, and Kylie Rae, already. Even though they had been officially announced ( and therefore " locked " ) and all. Didn't stop TNA to get them removed... So, yeah... I expect WWE to do the same with Drake and Angle. I'll be very surprised if they don't.

Gameplay would be some guy booting up a pre-alpha version and playing as Bundy against some other wrestler.
The only actual gameplay footage there is the one with tony chini running around the ring.
