So true was so disappointing when my ibanez first came and sounded like my strat after I'd heard it in reviews whaling like evh strat not knowing what I know now is that it was almost certainly coming through a plexi via a story on sunset that can make a banjo sound like thrash metal didnt even want that just thought well if it can do that it can do everything leaving me disappointed for first few mths till I started to learn about pedals but I bet kids have given up over such things thinking or I got wrong fingers or what ever kids think all reviews should be done all clean first then do the fuzzy fun bit at the end after the sign comes up saying now let's go all 80s or let's get grungie or what ever even then if you have a grungie or 80s smiths type tone ya can start super imposing it on ya brain but unknown bedal in to unknown app is annoying yet they tell ya mic all time especially in a comparison video who cares we can here we know one that's getting bit muddy as gain comes in we hear grainy pots ect many reviews need stripping back some are almost to the point of pointless ness that's when it's nice to see it and only fair you take ya time to say job well done and hopefully we get more like these cos these are the ones I have to see before I even decide to go to shop and look get tones here then if it looks good sounds good go see if it feels good and if she feels good throw her in the car and take that sucker home and play it till ya got fingers like toni iommi ok we love ya toni

@@jackkitchen154 oh yes I agree sir a bit of delay or some nice tape echo is nice cos just thickens the existing tone so ya can feel them sound scapes ya can sculpt when it's all a bit 60s cos you had some left some left from glasto and ended up having an exerstensal experience and jam good times good times

My first pick in this paranormal series has been the thinline until you did this video. Man does this look cool and sound nice. Thanks again Ryan for your awesome videos. 2 years later, because of your video I was looking for this guitar for a while, and I found a used copy for less than initial new price in 2022 in pristine condition with a good professional setup!. I'm 3 months in and just gigged the guitar for the first time as my first ever baritone and it is perfect. I second your recommendation.

The guitar sounds great - worth the wait! I have an acoustic-electric that I converted into a baritone, and I love it. There is something really satisfying about the lower range of those guitars. Another great thing about baritones is that the lower pitched harmonics on the high strings are in a very nice melodic range.

At first when I saw this thing I was thinking "damn if it only had a tele bridge pickup" but I'm starting to really reconsider that thought. Those p90s really work great with the lower tuning. Slightly more low end and girth but still very clear sounding. I'm definitely going to have to get me one of these! 🤟😎🤟🎸🎶 BTW, Dimarzio sells a few of their more famous humbuckers in a p90 case. So if you wanted to you could put Super Distortion or something similar in there without modding it.

Well.....by my UK metric calculations, it would be just about 343mm from the nut to the 12th fret.....and it would have to be the same again from the 12th fret to the bridge......so either the neck pocket would have to be shorter in length or the bridge would have to be placed further away from the neck to make it all work out.

  • @johnwallace2319

bolt on baris usually have the length in the neck, so as long as your bari neck fits a neck pocket you can convert your bolt on... i learned this in a baritone exclusive fb page

You're totally right about the action. It's only as complicated as you make it. You pretty much have to get comfortable with your over all height preference by adjusting as often as possible. Finding your comfort ratio between buzz and height. A little buzz is ok. Just avoid the type of buzz that kills the note early. I sport a little buzz on all my axes because I play suuuuuuper low. If you want to eliminate more of the buzz, adjust the truss rod. Straight forward. You don't need a neck ruler to check if the neck is straight either, that's just for fret filing. You need a little relief.

    • @troyl200

it's a pretty beautiful guitar! I love the look of that pickguard on the body, Although I do agree it should come in more colors. Still looks classier than a big traditional tell pickguard would be.
REally looking into cheaper baritone options, would you consider (or have you) talked about how you paired the neck and the body of your partscaster baritone?? I would love to just buy a neck and a body separately so i can really make it my own!! just worried a little about mismatching the body and the neck.

Awesome vid. Any experience with the Tele Blacktop Baritone or the Reverend Descent? Descent W has P90s, which sound good on that and on this tele. The Blacktop tele has the HSS set up, so it's nice to have best of both pickup worlds. I'm looking for something that can cover metal to surf/western territory. Your demo makes this tele look promising, but I'm also curious about these other two brands/models.

Not sure a baritone is what I want, I've never tried one though. You addressed just what I thought when I saw these. What if I want a different pickup configuration? I think a filtertron bridge humbucker and a neck P90 in a cabronita telecaster would be pretty awesome but nobody just makes one out of the box that way.

Can you do a comparison between "this squier Baritone "and a "Danelectro Baritone BMF"?

Man that sounds great. Got one on order. Feel giddy with excitement. What tuning do you reckon would be the sweet spot for this?

I would use it lead with a tonebender for garage/psyche era lead guitar parts
