As a car owner and a "backyard mechanic" you have to realize, many people never look under their car.. They have no idea how rusted it can get. If they dont do work on it themselves, and mechanics dont tell them (And some DONT.. so dont yell that they all do.. please) then how would they know.. I work on my own so see the underside when I have to get under for any work.. but most never will, since they know nothing of repairing their own cars.
If you live in the rust belt or a place they use salt on the roads in the winter time take your car thru a car wash that HAS a undercarriage sprayer. USE THAT ONCE A WEEK during the winter. That'll rinse off any salt or salt residue and your vehicle will last longer. In the mid 90s to 2009 I used to work on automatic car washes and our Van's would last over 100k miles and not rust out 5 to 7 years later. All this is if you don't get the undercarriage "oiled" or fluidfilmed which works great as well!!!
I always thought 70s cars were rust buckets but I’m beginning to think the newer stuff is worse. The older cars usually rusted where you can see them, although sometimes the floors would rust out. But I don’t recall major structural rust issues like you see on today’s vehicles. I was gonna say because the older cars had an actual frame but I see a lot of trucks that have frames that rot.
IMHO, I think when a rusty vehicle is brought in for any kind of service, if it is mechanically unsound and unable to be repaired, it should be deemed a road hazard, the cops should be called and that vehicle be towed away to a junk yard.
@@danr1920 That should matter, I've never bought a used vehicle without having it checked out and that includes mechanically. I always took it to my mechanic, and if I wasn't allowed to do so I didn't buy it because I always thought they were hiding something.
And sorry to say but the problem will only get worse as the economy slides down the rabbit hole. Can't afford a new car, can't afford repairs, but CAN afford fancy wheels, tires, stereo systems and remote starts
I don't know I see things in America that don't exist in Europe a car like that the mechanic himself shouldn't even let it leave the garage he should call the police immediately because they are very dangerous cars but not only for the one who drives but for other people because the one who drives is incompetent and ignorant to walk with a destroyed car and then mechanics give Freedom a car and this but where is the inspection, There is no inspection of cars in America?
I only managed to watch 48 seconds of the video. The first clip, portrait-mode while swinging the camera randomly all over the place, made me feel queasy.
I would definitely tell the customeri.Don't know where you bought this or if you've been driving like this for years. I would go get my money back.Or you're going to get sued. Because it's going to cause an accident anytime. And I would not have lifted it up.
These cars would not be allowed on UK roads no way would they would not pass the annual mot vehicle safety check your would not be insured also the police would inpond your car I am glad I don't ln the USA were me and my familys safety would be at risk by selfish drives

If these people were there watching the mechanics stick their hands in holes and pulling pieces off they'd be like stop don't make it worse.

For the people who don't know, these vehicles are in snow country.
Yes they are
Pretty good scam those states have going . They put down the salt that ruins cars , then make them pay for inspections they are going to fail .
Gotta love the salt belt, moved out of that region a while ago and my car is a few years away from looking like these guys

Wait till you get one that needs a transmission and it s welding to the engine
Thank goodness I live in central Texas where rust is not an issue.
Texass...where fish freeze to death in their aquariums because they can't keep the power on!
How can you possibly buy any kind of vehicle without having it checked out???
Some of these bad cars have nice and shiny paint. Rust free where you look.

How cheap are the wheel alignments at that place for this person to actually be will to spend money!
Here's one for the engineers watching this clip: How much stronger is box section rust compared to flat plate rust?
And this, folks, is the reason why cars depreciate in value
It only requires a modicum of intelligence to know enough not to live in places where they pour toxic chemicals on the roads.

And the latest iphone.

"Free dumb! Free Dumb!" 'Muricans think they are exceptional and can do anything they want. Including driving unsafe vehicles on the highways.
Hold your phone the right way! Or don't send in the video.

One car looks good

Why do you keep uploading the same videos? This one even has the same old video twice in it.
Roast acorns
