    I prefer it in grams 😄 and am very happy it is in grams and not cups. I also like so that the middle layer is a little bit thicker😄😄😄

    Turned out pretty good! I used a lower baking tray than shown in the video, making the layers less visible. Would recommend a higher baking tray to avoid it !

    He visto muchas versiones de esta receta y puedo decir que esta está muy bien hecha y terminada. El toque de azúcar en las claras hace mucha diferencia entre las otras que he visto.
    Ya me voy a la cocina a preparar con una variedad le voy a colocar blacberries mermelada. Me parece que va a salir bien

    I bake it about 1 hour,but it still wet and do not inflate.
    In the end,it failed.
    But i will try again! It is still delicious.

    Lol this video made me understand smth
    When I made a cake for the first time i got the same results but my mom was saying that I have not baked them through, that is why I should not eat the cake .
    But I still had eaten it and until now I did not know why my vanilla cake became custard cake 😅

    I made this and it was delicious. The only problem I had was that the bottom stuck to the paper so I sort of ended up with just two layers. It was really nice though and your directions were great. Will try again with different paper. Thank you!

    Katarina Brown Mobile and tablet users are the ones saying they don't see the recipe because on those devices, you can't see annotations. To them, since KT isn't talking, this is just a video about someone putting random ingredients in a bowl with wedding music playing - it doesn't surprise me that people leave a comment about it or just click away. If KT does something about it (like puts captions in the video pre-upload, and not with the annotations), these videos would be more accessible to a wider audience.

    Done! it's delicious, it has the right amount of sugar, and the custard came out just like in the video. My only problem was that my oven failed me and the cake colapsed :(

    the egg white mixture is not properly incorporated with the flour mixture. That's why there is the thick layer at the bottom of the cake.

    hi! awesome video, love your channel! question regarding the oven: i have an electric one. I cook with "air" mode (i have to reduce 20 *C -----200*C would be *180C).. do you bake it in which option? air, heat up and down, just down....? thanks a lot! :)

    Is there a way to make the custard bit bigger? Like say half cake batter, half custard? Obviously the cookie crust the same size. It looks amazing

      +A utumn try looking at some other videos of this recipe, i noticed that every one of them came out with a slightly different ratio with slight variations in the recipe.

    You whisked your egg whites in when you should fold them in gently and let it have lumpy bits in it. That’s why when you baked it, it doesn’t have all even layers.

    Tried this yesterday and got more custard than cake. I used three eggs separated the yolks and used the remaining egg white for the mixture. My question is; do I need more egg white. I want the cake part to be dominant just like in the video. Finally, your captions don't show up on my fon only the PC. Thank you so much

      Perhaps you over mixed the whites and the york mixture? ....I don't know but sometimes slight difference may result in different out come. Cakes like this really needs practice to be perfect...

      Go to the website linked in the description box, the recipe is there too. I think having the right amount of egg-whites and -yolks is crucial in this recipe, so measure very carefully (: good luck!

      Same here. Got more custard than cake. She mixed thoroughly the meringue and the yolk mixture, which goes against the advice of many other tutes online.

    Strange. Most of the recipes I find for this say it's crucial not to over mix in the egg yolks to get the layers but you still did here. I guess mixing them thoroughly gives a larger cake layer?

      im guessing it also depends on how viscous the batter mixture is. I.e the thinner the batter, the thinner the cake layer?

      Looked like about 2 cups of cocaine... I'm guessin...(no ingredient names listed ( .but you cant fold it all in at once evidently..) it affects the goat milk i think.

      Jessica Lynn Larson you beaten up the egg whites too much,if the egg whites are beaten up too much then the cake is supposed to be cracked

    With all due respect I don't understand the endless amount of comments asking where is the recipe? Or that she should put the recipe in the video! Am I watching another video? I wrote the entire recipe while watching the video. KT writes each and every ingredient at the very bottom of her videos, in the video itself!,Not only that but at the end of the video right on the top right hand corner in a big black square box she writes "Click here for recipe!" And right above where we share our comments in the info section right under where you can see the date the video was published she wrote Recipe: kitchentigress.blogspot.sg/201....so with all that why do so many viewers still ask where is the recipe? lol

      +Katarina Brown - If you're referring to annotations being turned on as a-must, the video should at the very least mention that via written graphics right at the start: "TURN ON ANNOTATIONS". Turn your annotations off and re-watch this video; then you'll stop wondering about the endless comments asking for the recipes, etc. -Kind Regards,

      ope22nd​ thank you for the information concerning the annotations but I already knew that and on all my video viewing settings I have annotations turned off.. This video which by the way I commented on a very long time ago has the recipe right at the bottom in the info all clearly written for everyone to see. So unless I'm the only one who has info underneath every UA-cam video I still fail to understand why all the comments asking for KT to post the recipe with her videos. It's right there in plain view..Thank you however for the annotations info tho, but like I said I usually do have the annotations turned off.. All the best and this being the holiday season I wish you a Happy Holidays :-)

    I recently purchased an auto-spaghetti maker, and the directions to make it are in "Grams, Liters etc....." I'm in the U.S.A. where even though we had the option to learn "Metrics" a LOT of people chose to not learn because our past has been strictly "Inches, Feet, Yards etc..... So then i had to find a website to change Grams to Cup etc... and it might as well have been Phoenician. For those who can't understand metrics, it would be nice to provide the directions in cups, tsp. or tbls. too. Thank you very much! :)
