Lol this video made me understand smth When I made a cake for the first time i got the same results but my mom was saying that I have not baked them through, that is why I should not eat the cake . But I still had eaten it and until now I did not know why my vanilla cake became custard cake 😅
I made this and it was delicious. The only problem I had was that the bottom stuck to the paper so I sort of ended up with just two layers. It was really nice though and your directions were great. Will try again with different paper. Thank you!

To them, since KT isn't talking, this is just a video about someone putting random ingredients in a bowl with wedding music playing - it doesn't surprise me that people leave a comment about it or just click away. If KT does something about it (like puts captions in the video pre-upload, and not with the annotations), these videos would be more accessible to a wider audience.

You whisked your egg whites in when you should fold them in gently and let it have lumpy bits in it. That’s why when you baked it, it doesn’t have all even layers.

Tried this yesterday and got more custard than cake. I used three eggs separated the yolks and used the remaining egg white for the mixture. My question is; do I need more egg white. I want the cake part to be dominant just like in the video. Finally, your captions don't show up on my fon only the PC. Thank you so much
Perhaps you over mixed the whites and the york mixture? ....I don't know but sometimes slight difference may result in different out come. Cakes like this really needs practice to be perfect...

Strange. Most of the recipes I find for this say it's crucial not to over mix in the egg yolks to get the layers but you still did here. I guess mixing them thoroughly gives a larger cake layer?

ope22nd thank you for the information concerning the annotations but I already knew that and on all my video viewing settings I have annotations turned off.. This video which by the way I commented on a very long time ago has the recipe right at the bottom in the info all clearly written for everyone to see. So unless I'm the only one who has info underneath every UA-cam video I still fail to understand why all the comments asking for KT to post the recipe with her videos. It's right there in plain view..Thank you however for the annotations info tho, but like I said I usually do have the annotations turned off.. I recently purchased an auto-spaghetti maker, and the directions to make it are in "Grams, Liters etc....." I'm in the U.S.A. where even though we had the option to learn "Metrics" a LOT of people chose to not learn because our past has been strictly "Inches, Feet, Yards etc..... So then i had to find a website to change Grams to Cup etc... and it might as well have been Phoenician. For those who can't understand metrics, it would be nice to provide the directions in cups, tsp. or tbls. too. Thank you very much! :)

the egg white mixture is not properly incorporated with the flour mixture. That's why there is the thick layer at the bottom of the cake.

im guessing it also depends on how viscous the batter mixture is. I.e the thinner the batter, the thinner the cake layer?
