I made this but used a slightly different recipe. I didnt stir my eggwhites as much as here, it said stir dont fold, and to leave some lumps of egg white. It turned out perfect!
I wonder if we could use a Spring form pan? I rarely have room for a long casserole pan. But this is just what I’ve wanted. A cake that’s also a custard. I think, 1/4 of the way through, I’ll put some halved Cherries 🍒 since they’re in season right now. They may sink to the bottom a bit but I think it’ll work. Fingers 🤞 . Can’t wait to try this 1 out. Thanks 🙏🏼
Hi. I don't suggest a springform pan because the batter is very liquidy. You can use a glass baking dish as I used or a non-stick baking pan. Just be sure to spray it before hand :)
@@QueenGsRecipes -Yes I tried it yesterday but all I had large enough was large a T-Fal Wok. The cake pan fit but I really need to get something that’ll both keep the temperature just right & will accommodate my baking pans. Mine turned out pretty nice, but it seemed a little dryer than I expected. I guess this recipe is not as moist as a standard cheese cake. I liked it tho’ thanks.
Hi. Magic Custard Cake, has a very moist texture. You have both the light sponge cake and the amazing custard. It's very important to follow each step of this recipe, in order to achieve the perfect texture :)
I always add fresh nutmeg ... I make this cake at least once a month....LOL I Love this cake !!!
Nice tip. I can see it working. Thanks.
I like this idea how many would you add approximately
Looks absolutely delicious.

Can I use my hands? I aint got the fancy stuff lol
Hi. That should be fine. You can use a whisk. Just might take a little longer 🙂
🤤
Can u use semi skinned milk
Hi. Full fat or 2% milk is preferred, but you can use low fat. Skim milk is not suited for this cake. I hope this helps :)
Did you use large eggs?
Hi. Yes, I used large eggs.
@@QueenGsRecipes if I want to use small eggs, how many should I use?
Cake was great, my only issue is that I got a very thin top layer (no real sponge). Custard and bottom layer we’re good. What did I do wrong?
Same here. Very thin and no real sponge. I follow all the recipe
Is this beautiful cake from any particular nationality?
I believe it originated from a Portuguese Nunnery, back in the day. Catholic nuns are some of the best bakers in the world. Unearthed talent.
Is cream of tartar not needed for egg whites to form peaks? Tnx 😊
Hi. By adding cream of tartar to egg whites, it does help keep the egg whites stable. But, if you don't have it, it's not necessary. :)
You can also use the juice of half a lemon!
Did you grease your dish
Hi. Yes I did with some non-stick spray. Softened butter or some margarine will work well also.
Thank you very much for the prompt response will make this tomorrow many thanks from England UK keep up the good work
Making this right now :)
At least 2%, thanks x
I just want to print the recipe. I can't watch a video and make a recipe.
Hi, the full recipe is in the description box.
Love the recipe but the “ music” is annoying.
