Thank you so much for doing this!! I just painted the majority of my house in Accessible Beige lightened by 25% (love it) and was looking for a moody color to coordinate with in my dining room. I selected Attitude Gray and it looks amazing!!! Thanks again.
I would like to do my doors and trim in accessible beige, and my kitchen cabinets are going to be Woodland Green from RTA Store. I was leaning towards Alabaster .. but, not too sure? Please help!
Would love to hear a detailed assessment of your favorite colors for exterior trim on brick homes. My home has warm red brick which we intend to keep. Overwhelmed with the options available for such an expensive investment! Most of the online advice for exterior paint is for painting the brick.
Ooo, this is a good one, I'll make a note of this. But to get you started, it DEPENDS on the look you're going for and it can also depend on your window colour and roof! Some people like to keep things simple with a soft white (ie. Snowbound) whereas others want a bit more depth, in which case you often look towards the MORTAR around the brick for some general guidance. This often leads to colours such as SW Agreeable Gray and Anew Gray :). There are so many things to consider, but hopefully those get you started!
Great to see these update’s. I’m building right now. I’ve chose High Reflective white for trim. Alabaster for the walls & Accessible Beige for the master suite. All my doors will be painted SW Black Fox. Hoping it all blends well.
JaclynC I also just did High reflective white on all my trim and I do love it but it takes alot of coats because it doesn't have much " Hide". Kylie actually just did a blog post on this and how you should have your paint store add more white pigment to it to provide more coverage. If our trim wasn't already done I would totally recommend it. Our trim is new and we did 3 coats of primer on alot of it to provide a whiter base for High reflective white to go on, that being said I do love High reflective white
@@shannonellis8236 I put High Reflective in the house we’re in now a few years ago. We painted the board & baton, all trim & even the ceilings in it. It does take extra coats….most whites do. It was all new wood. I love it though. It just a clean white. I searched for a “neutral white “ that didn’t lean gray or yellow. The SW people looked at us like why would you use that🤷♀️ for trim. I see now many more are using it. It will always be my go to trim color.
Hey thanks for all you do.... You kind of hit on what i was thinking but not quite with your silver strand and accessible beige review. My question though is the next shade up from sea salt which is comfort gray. Any thoughts?
Hi Kylie!! I painted my walls panda white and trim pure white. I was thinking about painting my kitchen cabinets accessible beige. I want a warmer look. Any thoughts? ❤
Kylie you are very, very good at what you do. And I genuinely appreciate your videos. Like the poster below, I too, am building. I've spent countless hours contemplating colors. I know I want to get it right the FIRST time. Plus, I know it's an investment when it comes to painting and my choices tend to be something I'll live with for a long, long time. All that said, I AM SO GLAD to see the cool tone gray trend finally dying down and that (more contemporary) beiges are coming back to the forefront. You're probably too young to remember but boy did Macadamia have it's time in the sun as a popular beige-y color. And then, along came GRAY. Girlfriend, I hated the gray trend from the very beginning and I still don't like it now. All that gray, to me, feels cold, uninviting and like a prison. Seriously. Now that I'm building again your videos of (warm toned) Agreeable Gray and Accessible Beige were invaluable to me. And now, in THIS video you introduce Silver Strand as a color that harmonizes well with Accessible Beige. OMG! BRILLIANT. I'd have never thought of that pairing! And it is soooo pretty. I think I will put that color in several bathrooms and the laundry room. I was going to do Niebla Azul but this video just changed my mind. One last thing - I'm thinking green is poised for a comeback too. Would LOVE to see a video covering greens that pair well with Accessible Beige. THANK YOU. Keep up the good work. Truly enjoyable content and just so incredibly well presented. Love it.
Oh, i SO remember. Or maybe it's because I see so many come in my inbox! And seriously, Silver Strand is SUCH a stunning complement, I love it. I also love Argos as a complement - it has a bit more body to it. And you're right, green is definitely coming back, I've got to throw that on my video to-do list - THANK you Chrissy!
Second the comment about the greens. I love them and blue greens like Sea Salt. Thinking of Accessible Beige as an exterior siding color. We have orangeish brick also that we aren't ever painting over...("illini commons" color is the closest picture I could find of it for reference). Would AB pair well with Quietude front door and shutters? I love Sea Salt, which is in a couple of my rooms, but wanted something with a little more substance. Your thoughts would be appreciated!
Thank you for the lovely explanation. What do you thing of incredible white for the office. with accessible beige as the main and aesthetic white as the entrance?
This was super, super helpful! I'm thinking Accessible Beige for our open floor plan. Unfortunately, we do have creamy cabinets but they need repainting too. I hope it will all look ok in the time between painting the walls and then later the cabinets. It's good knowing that going in. Thank you for your help!
I’m having trouble choosing a wall color to coordinate with our freshly painted Jubilee (SW) cabinets and dark brown wood look tile floors. Our home is a bit dark and main living areas face north and are quite dark so colors look very different. We are trying to use one color for the whole house including the kitchen. I’ve sampled many beiges/tans and nothing seems quite right. I did not think it would be such a challenge when I selected the cabinet color but here we are.
can you let me know what is a good color paint for maple latte cabinets? It's for my kitchen and I am having a hard time finding a color for my walls with my new cabinets?
New subbie here, I love Accessible Beige with Urbane Bronze together. I am now contemplating that combo in my two story family room with urbane bronze on the mantel. I like the idea of Aesthetic White in the adjacent half bath that has no natural light. Thank you very much for sharing with us! 😊
I have accessible for the wall I go with the trim for the pure white how I can go the alabaster for the door or I go the pure white for the door thanks very much
I have a small bathroom with a skylight. I would like to do peppercorn or iron ore on the bottom of the walls on shiplap and accessible beige on top. Would this work?? Tia
Hey! these two won't jibe as City Loft is too much of a warm gray/taupe and AB is more of a beige. With AB trim, most people lean into soft whites like BM White Dove :). With City Loft walls, you might even need to jump a bit darker/more taupe/greige like SW Anew Gray...
@@KylieMInteriorsPaint Hey Kylie, my wife and I were not 100% sure on it as well but we’re thinking about. We are going with Authentic White as our main and AB as our trim color. Fingers crossed. :/
Hi Kylie, first, I love your videos, they have been so helpful! I finally decided on shiitake Cabinets, and I love it with pewter green, but I think that might be too much in my kitchen. Also thought of color drenching, with an accent wall of pewter green. but that scares me as well. Should I just go with shittake and a white?? Your thoughts, or if I may reach out for a consultation, I would be very appreciative.
Hello! We have tropical brown granite countertops and looking to lighten out brown cabinets with White Dove… what are your thoughts on this all color for North facing g small kitchen? Thank you
Hi Kylie, I've been watching some of your videos this morning. Learning a great deal, but am still struggling with trim color in my kitchen. Walls are painted antique white. I'm looking for a trim color that is a few shades darker and won't make my cream cabinets (with a glaze that makes them look yellow) appear any more yellow. Any suggestions?
Hiya! I MIGHT bump to Balanced Beige on the doors, personally. The sheen of door paint can make a colour look a bit lighter than expected and I'd worry about AB looking a bit too passive.
Love watching you Kylie....I'm going to be painting my lake house and am leaning to accessible beige....what is the best color for adjoining rooms and accent wall that has a fireplace on it....I like the mix of some gray as well.....just don't want to paint the whole house gray.....I have so many paints chips from SW that I'm getting confused......thanks in advance
I tried Accessible Beige on my kitchen walls hoping it gives it a great contrast to my white cabinets. BUT Accessible Beige looks like a dirty white on my walls!! UGH! I don't know where to go from here! I an updating my home from Tuscany (SW Blonde) to newer Tuscany look. Can you help? By the way the SW Blonde looked really yellow in the kitchen.
Hello! Thank you so much for these helpful reviews. We're moving into a new home with Nomadic desert walls, cherry wood kitchen and warm counters. I'd like to pain the cabinets BM White dove but can't afford to repaint the whole house. What color complements Nomadic desert? I prefer gray but think I might need Accessible Beige, how about Agreeable Gray? It's a north facing room. Thanks!
I noticed SW Natural Tan. It is a lovely warm neutral, and it has a nice warmth to it. Would it have a similar color palette? Would one need to consider different colors or undertones?
You really know your colors. I'm trying to decide between Accessible Beige and Edgecomb Gray for our 2 story foyer, entryway and upstairs hall. The front of our home faces NE. I have gunstock wood oak floors and a light beige carpet going up the stairs. I prefer beige over gray, also like greige but want an updated color for possible resale in the next few years. Any thoughts?
What causes Accessible Beige to look light soft airy in some rooms but in most it looks heavy and muddy? It’s like the perfect color(not too beige or too grey) imo But it seems it’s hard to get that nice soft look with this color
Ahhh yes, it ALLLL comes down to natural light and interior light. Dark rooms that don't have enough light can DEFINITELY have Aesthetic White looking that bit muddy vs soft and subtle. When i want somethign softer, I often go to Natural Tan, which has a 'similar' approach but is lighter.
Accessible Beige vs Edgecomb Gray? Why would you go with one over the other? Also you said that Kilim Beige doesn't go with Accessible Beige but what about Edgecomb and Kilim Beige? Thanks
What about White Dove Trim and Cabinets with Accessible Beige with Major windows on the East and 1 nice window on the West? OR, what about Edgecomb Gray ? Floors are warm and have yellow undertone
Kylie, thank goodness for this video. Thank you! I have two guest bedrooms with a Jack-n-Jill bathroom between the two. One bedroom I am painting Accessible Beige, the other Silver Strand. I’m stuck at what to paint the bathroom. My main house interior color choice is White Duck. Should I use that for the bathroom? Keep up the amazing work.
So the painters have painted my new home master bath in Accessible Beige. Yikes it looks yellow. There is t any tile in yet. Lots of natural light. My chosen tile will have varying degrees of beige & browns with touch of a lighter AB color. I can’t get over it looking yellow.😠
Well that's weird as it isn't a yellowish colour generally. Did they mix it in SW paint, have you checked to make sure the colour match is good (put the paper chip against the wall)?
