I wish you were my lab instructor, I'm a biotech student at TAU and our course is terrible, we are given extremely simplistic protocols and are required to write a detailed prelab assignment. One thing you should add is the mechanism by which magnesium inserts itself between the benzene carbon and the bromine atom. One more thing, how exactly is the magnesium carboxilate salt called? because it also seem to contain a br- ion. Guys this video is THA BOMB.(especially if you don't handle the ether carefully :p)
