I have purchased Makita as far back as 40 years ago and I still have that tool. I have several Makiita tools and find them of high quality and very reliable. Solid construction and just knowing they will do the job keeps me coming back.
I’m very very proud of the makita products, so reliable & comfortable, I used to continue to invest the makita products just because they can use more than 10 years
The only thing I am very disappointed with is that "old" tool models get removed from the official website along with its documentation. That includes the compatible accessory parts which sometimes are not in the manual since they are released later. I never see things being listed as discontinued, which is the preferred way for products that are supposed to have a high longevity. I am sure that some service centers might fill that gap
I have a makita corded drill that my father bought in 2001 and i'm still using the same drill for my full time job. I still don't encounter problems with this drill i just grease up and change worn carbon brushes. I don't try other brands all mg power tools are makita brands love this brand of power tool.
that's interesting. idk why but I was moved that there is Factory in Germany too. I feel that Aichi people have the craftsmanship. but why there is not the factory in Russia? because Russia people love Makita, I saw I know that.
Hi Reginald, some Makita products are manufactured in Thailand. You can always be sure if its a real Makita tool by only buying from authorised dealers using the dealer locator on the website.
Many thanks for bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately, we have very little control over these websites and although they promote bargains prices that are usually too good to be true, they often relate potential scam websites. Makita UK has run social media and web campaigns to help raise awareness for potential customers and we always recommend purchasing from one of our official dealers which can be found via the dealer locator page on our website. Our Dealer Locator can be found at: makitauk.com/dealer-locator
Mostly made in China ,like most tool companies ,have had issues with brand new tooos made by Makita in Japan, plus never made the 40v a flexvolt like Dewalt years ago ,I won’t be changing from the lxt 18v to the 40v big mistake by Makita not making the 40 v work with the 18 v and 36v tools ,,🇮🇪☘️

Makita are disgraceful the way they deal with recalls. I’ll never buy a Makita product again because of the way they dealt with my situation. I bought a Makita line trimmer. I used it a handful of times, 5 at most, until I realised it was defective a couple of years later and found there was a recall notice on it. I took it back to have it ‘repaired’ by a Makita authorised repairer. After I got it back, I spent months trying to get it working without any success, then just started borrowing line trimmers from friends and family. I tried to get it going again this year and took it to a Makita service centre at Keilor Park in October and they said an angle grinder had been taken to it and that's why it’s not working. I dealt with a donkey national service manager who just had a good laugh at my predicament and suggested I did the damage - brilliant customer service! Other donkeys I dealt with at this place didn't have much of a clue either. My advice is to avoid Makita products.
Good afternoon, I'm sorry to hear you've not had a good experience with Makita. You have contacted Makita's UK office but it sounds like you may have spoken to Makita in a different country. Unfortunately, Makita UK would be unable to help as you will need to contact the Makita head office in the country where you have spoken to the representative and service centre. Please let us know if you require further assistance.
@@makitauk thanks for that, you're 100% more effective in that regard than Makita Aus! I've contacted Makita Aus via email and phone with no response. I'm after a global email address or phone number to contact global headquarters. If you have that and could send to me I'd be grateful. If not, no worries, at least you demonstrated a modicum of customer service, which Makita Aus apparently is incapable of. All the best.
