As an electrician that does strictly remodels this is an absolute essential tool. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI Being able to precision cut any material with a light weight tool is priceless.I upgraded to this Dewalt 20v from a competitor's 12v. The Dewalt 20v is just as light as the competitor's 12v. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance and battery life of this tool. As far as oscillators go, they just aren't very ergonomic tools. The dewalt oscillators have an offset handle that do make them somewhat more ergonomic than the competitors' oscillators.
Whilst a few of the machines certainly would be a useful improvement and a good upgrade, for the majority where I don't need ridiculous amounts of powers, the giant and way heavier battery would definitely be a downside rather than a benefit. Then, with my 14 Makita tools so far, I would rather invest in few more batteries than jumping on a whole new battery platform. Three is already enough. Even for professionals, I don't think it will ever fully replace the 18lxt range. Who needs a jigsaw, a trim router or a *compact* driver/sds drill/planer/anything, to be half a kilo heavier, and a fair bit larger just for some extra unneeded power in those specific applications. Now, if Makita was ever to make a cross-cutting system in few sizes, like what Mafell has with their KSS40/50/60, well, then I would certainly reconsider adding another battery platform to my workshop as the damned thing(the small one) cost me as much half of.all my Makitas together... 😉
Is there any AC->DC adapter coming for XGT line? Like HiKoki has? It would be really handy ! I really like the idea with high-power tools with epic batteries, but I would like to use these in-house with socket half the time...
I've seen great reviews of the 'Makita XGT GPH01' drill/driver and I want to buy one but I can't see that item in this line-up video or on any UK retailer's website. I have invested in the Makita LXT range and will they still be updated and supported because I want to know if you guys are still gonna release tools for the LXT range because I hate having to buy a bunch of batteries for tools only to replace them even though they are fine or replacing my tools because the batteries need replacing and the older tools I have do not support newer batteries. I can understand if you release new battery types of the technology is new or something but why does almost everyone just release a new battery connector for each new battery type
You don't have to worry the LXT is not going anywhere, they are doing both LXT an XGT. LXT will be for everyday user XGT is for pro users. And just to be clear the XGT battery isn't just a new connector, it's two 18v batteries in 1 casing
@@suicidallooneypro What I meant was not a new battery technology I meant that sometimes companies change the battery connector and the battery technology together and sometimes use the excuse that the new battery technology is the reason for using a newer connector when in most cases it doesn't matter too much.
@@makitauk Thats a lie. You lie just so you can sell the rest of the LXT tools. You did the same with the chainsaws, lying that gasoline chainsaws will still be made by dolmar factory, LIARS !!!
Will there be XGT medium torque impact wrench? More options of worklights? Radio that has both FM/DAB and Bluetooth? Grease gun? Would love to see em all, me personally as a mechanic, Makita fan and kinda farmer would love to buy em. But i hate that you dont have both DAB and Bluetooth on your radios. Also would love to see some 2 battery 80v powered both a mower and a linetrimmer.

@Korbin Kingsley i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hi do you have any videos on how you set the depth adjustment and how fine adjustment works mine just spins round. I’ve had 2 strokes and I’m disabled but can’t find anything on it I’m completely new and confused
3 radios and still no vacuum! Priorities. Why would you not have a 40v vacuum, especially with a compound mitre saw that is designed to work well with dust extraction and not a bag.
Very impressive but an 80v chainsaw is a must do, 80v blower, 80v power-head, 40v/80v cordless shop vacuum, 40v 1/2" high torque impact wrench, 18v and a 40v heat gun like Dewalt offers, Make a 12v cxt digital torque wrench and maybe some more cxt stuff, make a new 40v and an updated 18v hydraulic soft impact driver and finally brushless job fans. I love Makita and I wouldn't buy anything else.
Hi Clark, thanks for the suggestions. The 80v range is brand new and definitely will be expanding, alongside the current 40v range, 18v range, and 12v range so all of them will have new products coming still :).
You're talking to a brick wall here. Makita japan is the only group that can design and make tools. All the other countries get what they're given and most of the time only a few months in advance of the release.
A 40v table saw and 1/2 router would be a great edition. A 40v pin gun is strange one. I like the look of it then you go and ruin it by running off of a gigantic battery.
I think they may need that 40v battery to power it since the old Makita nailers couldn't sink into hard wood. The technology they use is not like Milwaukee's Nitrogen Based Driver System.
It sure is a dick move not adapting 40v batteries to be usable by the 18v platform. I have MANY 18v. All you taught me is that maybe i will buy corded from now on and use a lithium power supply.
Until the prices go down (I ain't paying 650 CAD for a hammer drill and impact unless it's got 3 4.0 or bigger batteries and a charger and even then probaly no) I'll stick with kill 2 brushless ryobis then slowly move to dewalt.
Hi Jon, we will be expanding the 40v range over the coming years and this year it does include some exciting garden machinery releases which will hopefully include chainsaws. They will definitely be coming at some point :)
