so proud of you for quitting smoking!!! I smoked 37 years and yesterday was my 5 year anniversary for being a non-smoker. You got this and you are stronger than you feel right now... sending you love and prayers.

Dear Chris, you matter. No one should be comparing your problems to anyone else’s problems. I am so sorry for what you’re going through. Thank you for your vulnerability. You are deserving of support. I am praying for you in every way. There are times in my life I’ve had this search for the light through the tiniest cracks to keep going. Keep seeking the light. It is there. In the meantime, stay connected to people who can lift you up. And take care. You matter.
I understand keeping it basic: car for work, gig opportunities, and health challenges on top of the pressures of what "we're supposed to be doing" to make things good. Do what's best for you, and we'll be here.
Quitting smoking is the hardest thing you will do. But you're tough and you can do this...I believe in you. And I'm praying for you. One day at a time. One step at a time. You got this Chris. You got this.
I totally understand what you are going through. Give yourself grace. Long Covid is a real thing, the brain fog is a real thing. I am sending a big hug, positive thoughts and prayers your way! ❤
Everything in your video makes sense! Sorry to see you struggling. It is a perfect storm. I can relate because I'm in similar circumstances. I've never had COVID, but I have fibromyalgia and permanent soft tissue damage in my back from two car accidents in 2014. I have full body pain all day everyday. It's physically and mentally exhausting! I do gig work too and find that it's the only thing I can really do for work as I'm in the same boat as you where I can't sit for very long and I can't stand for very long. That seems to be the perfect combination where I'm rotating sitting and standing. Part of what you might be feeling is missing your friend that moved away too. You are in my thoughts and I say the same thing to myself all the time, everything always works out!
Fibro, yes.. My friend deals with that and it's definitely not a good time. Gig work is the perfect combination, just got to get thru the bad couple ahead of us!
These are difficult times. Remember though like all things it will change for the better. I wonder if you could get some sort of disability just to help you through this? My heart aches for you. Sending prayers.
Theres a full moon tonight/tomorrow. Emotions are always amplified around the full moon. I think you should look into disability too. Chronic fatigue/pain etc are valid diagnosis in Canada. Its hard making good decisions when your not feeling well. Why beat yourself up bc you went for a walk or bought some food? Those are good choices. Keep working on your health. Work with the doctor and have him help you figure out whats wrong. Also you can use all that documentation to apply for disability. Praying for you. Keep the faith. ❤ 🙏 ❤
Thank you for sharing what’s going on in your life. Sending you a hug. 🤗 We appreciate you and you’re a strong person. I understand struggling and going through a lot of things in this life. I wish I had the confidence to talk about my struggles and what I’m going through, but I just feel like a burden to everybody. I enjoy watching your videos. Take care
Since your home is always with you, have you considered driving to another town/city where there may be more gig work activity? Even temporarily. Love your videos and your genuineness.
I believe you and I are around the same age (I was born in 1968). Life can be a complete shitshow at times! Being menopausal for starters, and you dealing with everything that you are and being so vulnerable and sharing them with us is very brave! I am sure the stopping smoking is why everything feels so much harder right now! Your whole body is affected when something like that stops abruptly. Prayers to you that this (rougher than normal) time gets a bit easier soon!🙏 You got this girl!💪💖
I hope you're not worrying about me and you know what. You have enough to worry about already ❤ Also, just because some folks are worse off, doesn't mean you don't have your struggles!
Can the Dr. Put you on disability? So you can still get some money coming in and not work? I understand how you feel, I back off when things are bugging me as well. Stay strong girly. God is on your side and he has a plan for you. It will be shown soon!
Thank you for sharing what’s going on in your life. Sending you a hug. 🤗 We appreciate you and you’re a strong person. I understand struggling and going through a lot. I’m dealing with a lot also. It’s tough. 😔 I wish I had the confidence to talk about my struggles and what I’m going through, but I just feel like a burden to everybody. I enjoy watching your videos. Take care I really need a big/ long hug.
Amen sister to everything you said. For those of us that read the Bible we know what we are up against. You take care of you! We still be right here with you. Prayers coming your way! 🙏🏻👍❤️
Wow,ALL THIS time we could have seen the beauty of smoke ,coming off a cig? Swirling mesmerizing like a Salvador DAHLI painting... oh u!! That's so rare.. So get the candy cigs .. it's the hand mouth thing. Prayers. Yu got this!
Awwww I really hope you feel better and I know you will come out of this funk . A lot of us are struggling right now and I live in the United States . I am very proud you stopped smoking I know it’s not easy. I really wish nothing but the best for you Kris . You will get through this and I know you can overcome anything I been with you since you use to react to foodie beauty ❤❤ I’m hoping big blessings and Im praying 2025 will be one of your greatest years XoXo
I quit smoking in 2005. I was 38 and it was my fourth and last try and it finally worked if someone told me smoking now didn’t harm my health I wouldn’t want one true story.
Praying for you Jesus will prevail, always put him first and give your battles to him. He said he will fight them for us and he will provide for us.❤️🙏🏽
You are very strong Chris and I am glad you have found a supportive doctor. I don't know the Canadian system but over here the services and attention will end up going to the people looking the least able to cope. I suppose I am saying that it might be time now to show that you are not coping so well. You have supported the system, and now you need it to give you a little support for a while.
Thanks for been so honest with us Chris, I wish I could just give you a big hug, god will make sure you won’t lose your house bobby McGee, I gave up smoking 12 months ago, I have gone to a vape, I know how hard it is to give up smoking, yes 100% it is not helping with the way you feel, your body is craving, please don’t be so hard on yourself, are you able to use a vape over there with nicotine in it? It takes the crave away, better than ciggies and way cheaper
I'm so glad you are trying to quit smoking. It has to be hard but it will be so worth it for your health and your bank account. That does make sense that everything is magnified if you are trying to quit a 38 year habit and have other challenges in your life. Please don't give up. You got this!
Good luck quitting smoking, I did 25 years ago and it was hard, I ain't gonna lie but now I can't imagine smoking again and I am so thankful that I am not one of those yellow teethed, old ladies with the wrinkly mouths and cheeks. You will feel much better, just got to get pass the hard part.
Stressing about stuff, is never the healthiest method. Perhaps my older sister has long covid because she has experienced a lot of similar things (brain fog etc) but she lives in Australia so I can't advise her. I've smoked for 42 years now and I'm in the process of quitting.
4:59 for suggestion to add to your health plan, check on your inflammation levels, if you lower inflammation in the body the LC calms down . Histamine causes inflammation , with certain foods people eat . I take a supplement called histamine digest , it works really good,
Chris, you have made a very good point about not being able to have a conversation about the world and its people. Just not as Americans, Canadian etc… please know this community has your back. When you need to say something say it here we’re listening.❤ Enjoy the Timmy’s Saying pray a prayer with hugs too boot.
Ok I know you said you didn't want suggestions... but after years of going down the doctor route ... I tried conivore ....... bcuz all the doctors wanted to do is shove pill scripts at me or do surgeries that only had 50% chance of actuality working .. I'm a 50 yr old solo female vanlifer and had most of the health symptoms you mentioned... stress too financial as well... most went away just a few weeks into conivore.. and that was it for me... no looking back for me... I found that I actually spend less at the grocery now than before when I was eating all the things... for me eating sugar carbs grains processed food were the absolute worst for the symptoms I was having... my inflammation is 100% gone.. my brain is clear and I have more energy and feel better than I have in years.. best wishes to ya
I agree! I did keto for the longest time. Only are meat and a few Veggies... Never felt better! My body hates carbs so much but when I can buy 5 meals for $3 it's hard to get past that. Everything will be better soon once I get past this hump! ♥️
Wow we have alot of the same things going on. I smoked fir 44 year quit last June and still struggle a little. I have fybromyalgia and degenerative disc and bone disease. I've found that Aspercream with lidocaine patches can work wonders. Have you ever been tested for sleep apnea? It could be why your tired all the time and have brain fog. I have my machine does help.IM praying for you in all areas. God bless you
I have been watching your vlogs for a little while but I don't normally comment. But I just wanted to say yes, that faith is a substance hope for but yet not seen. HEB. 11:1. So remember He is there guiding and directing you in midst of the storm that the enemy is throwing at you. But the battles are won. You are more than a conqueror. When we are weak He is strong and faithful. So your transparency is relevant and teachable to others. So my prayers are with you! Continue seeking His face! Blessings
i am 59. year and a half ago began having lower back pain with serious sciatic nerve pain down both legs. could not work, so i was able to get free health care and foodshare. an mri on my lower back showed bulging discs. i was referred to a spine specialist, who told me it is degenerative and i need, and i quote, "major surgery." a week ago i called and disability lawyer who has taken my case. you need an mri and then a lawyer. sciatica always finds its cause in lower spine problems. in the mean time, get a prescription for gabapentin.
First, amazing video! Someone in the comments mentioned using the candy cigs to quit smoking and my sister did that and it worked for her. It is a habit thing with hand to mouth, and actually going to the store daily to buy your cigs. I'm a smoker and have been for 35+ yrs. I have tried to quit for years and just cannot do it (alcohol was a lot easier to quit using!). How are you doing it? I did manage to quit for 3 months years ago when a pack of cigs reached $3 USD, but stress or whatever and I started right back at it. Now cigs in my area are roughly $7 a pack, so I started buying tobacco and I am rolling .... it is time consuming, but... Hypnosis was the only way I was able to quit, but again, it was for only 3 mos. I have also tried drinking water from a straw and that helped me 1) take in my water for the day and 2) not smoke as much. But seriously, how are you doing it? Long comment here lol my comments are usually too short :) Most everyone I know is struggling. Thank you for sharing what you are going thru....! Cannot wait for your next video - pls keep them coming out - yay! to continue LOL; How do you feel about sharing your budget? Its probably too personal and I get it! I started watching Dave Ramsey a few years ago (maybe 5 yrs) to get (better) on track financially.... I also have a friend who has always told me, "pay yourself first." The financial shyt we're in now feels worse to me than 2008. IMO It is actually worse!! If I didn't buy a home in 2021, I would be F'd!!!
$7 a pack?!? Almost $20 here, for one pack! I did it because I didn't have a choice. Buy cigs or make van payment 🤔. Hardest thing I've had to do!!! Finances, yes, I could make a video about it... I'm going to be an almost open book in the hopes I can help even one other person 😊
@@AFoxyMess gotcha at $20. Name brand cigs are $14, but at that point, I started buying cartons (ten packs) for roughly $100 to save a few bucks - and now I am rolling & it costs me roughly $45/mo. Van payment is definitely more important. So are property taxes, which I didn't have the money to pay by mid-Dec. I wanted to mention that when I do try to quit smoking, I end up sleeping more. If I am sleeping LOL then I am not smoking. I have a friend who quit cold turkey in 1980 and still has occasions of wanting to smoke.
Can u do a sedentary job part time ? Where u have the ability to sit/stand as needed ? Ie reception As we age we all get degenerative issues - the way you help is to exercise and gain strength to help get the muscles support around the degenerative areas Eating and sleeping properly for long Covid is very important Pacing yourself daily so you don’t over do it You can google exercises u can do at the gym What about medical EI? Food banks? Church support ?
It is appalling to me that a person can live in their car, not have utilities, no rent, no mortgage, no health insurance payments, no expenses for clothes for their job, no pets to feed, no children to feed and clothe, and so many other things not needing to be paid, and they still CANNOT make it financially, even though they are working full time hours. I am beyond shocked and empathetic for your situation. Being broke makes everything worse. It undercuts our emotions, our decisions about what we eat, what we spend on anything at all, and how we feel about ourselves. Being without money has to be the most soul destroying feeling in the world, as if we have lost our worth. I've been there. It's like an emotional cancer that just eats you up from the inside. Please don't beat yourself up for spending $100 on food, which will last you a long time. I hope you are going to the food banks (pantries) as that will save you big money during the month. Hugs and prayers in your (still) blessed place.
So absolutely NONE of my business, you have to make the decisions that work best for you. I'm going to share my experience. I was in a HORRIBLE car accident 22 years ago. Coming home from Disneyland we were at a dead stop in road construction on the freeway in California. The car behind us wasn't paying attention and slammed into us at almost full speed, smashing us between his car and the car in front of us. I had a twinge of pain in my hip at the scene but NOTHING visible and had no idea what the future held for me. Over the next course of 9 years I saw 9 different surgeons all telling me YES i need a hip replacement and spinal surgery but because of my age i need to hold off until I absolutely cannot anymore. I had fallen soo many times during that 9 years I had at one point actually fractured my hip and WAS STILL WORKING FULLTIME!!! Until ......... I couldn't because the pain was sooo intense. The surgeon was HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but he was a class act A-hole. My daughter hated him and my view was if he is this highly recommended I don't care if he's a jerk, just FIX ME!!!! well I came out of surgery F-d up REALLY F-D UP!!!! Couldn't move my leg AT ALL!!!! my knee was swollen 3 times it's size. Yeah I know "knee"? they did hip surgery. That's because he was going to close me up and NOT do the surgery but there was another dr there that could assist so there I lay with my leg in traction open in the OR waiting ......... The blood flow was cut off to my leg for such an extended period of time that the nerve damage was irreversible. I developed a blood infection which years later I now know what that did to my body. I was laying in an MRI machine as I felt something in my mouth ..... A tooth broke off, nope not eating just laying in an MRI machine UNABLE to move so I turned my head to the side and spit my tooth onto the floor. yeah that fun continues...... I have had many surgeries and have spinal damage at soo many levels it takes both hands to count. FING UNREAL brings tears to your eyes, screaming in pain and NOTHING takes it away it just has to subside while I pace. All of this to say I know a thing or two about back pain, nerve damage etc. When money is tight just go with the MRI I an almost 100% guarantee you that they are going to do an ultrasound costing you your copays etc, then do an X-ray and turn right around and say yeah we need the MRI. Just save the money get on the list and keep calling and take your chances getting a cancellation where you can JUMP on the appointment. I know the pain and you have my sympathy!!! I wish you the very best!
Oh my goodness, what a story! I am so sorry you had to go through all that!!!! All my tests are covered as I'm in Canada where the healthcare is free ( well not free, we pay through our taxes /system ect) Over a year wait for mri, but Dr will request one if needed!
Hi again! How do you feel about emailing with your subscribers? I see your email in the ' show notes " Do people actually email you? lol And!! Do you have Goodwill bins where you are; Goodwill charges per pound instead of per item. I was going to suggest that you sell on eBay or Poshmark BEFORE you just mentioned that you are getting rid of your storage locker (or trying to find a place to keep everything). I have many ideas.... shoot lol I can just type them here :) Enjoy your week Chris - stay safe & warm!!
Yes! I chat with a few people. You can email me or DM me on instagram if you have it 😊 My clothes I tend to sell as I have some pretty cool items that I'm sure will get me a few $$ Also some rare collectibles that will work if I try eBay (now that our mail system is no longer on strike lol)
Hey, I think you should strongly consider getting on disability, you would get more than enough to cover your vehicle expenses and your health situation with the way it is would get you approval, can I get you in touch with someone who can tell you how to apply?
It might be option. I have to see what the diagnosis is once we get all the test results back. But if you'd like to share any information that might be helpful my email is in description of video ❤️
Cut ALL sugar, gluten, carbohydrates (pasta/ crackers…) to begin with. I KNOW you saw a doctor, but isn’t this menopause? I expected “intense rage and uncontrollable sweat” but what I got was depression, difficulty with speech, mental “fog” and mild irritation. IODINE, I O D I N E saved my life!!! (You don’t need a prescription) / Here is a book on the subject: “The iodine crisis” by Lynne Farrow.
@ Not to mention the lack of motivation… I’ve been “beyond exhausted” for months before but I never really lacked motivation, even on those days I couldn’t do anything… Then, pre-menopause arrived and life changed in a big way. Give iodine a try. There are no side effects. I’m back to being myself.
I'm not sure of your age... Though I'm thinking you're around mine... Your symptoms sound like perimenopause/menopause... I've been doing lots of research on it myself... Drops in estrogen seem to hurt the hips and shoulders... Changes in hormones can cause brain fog, poor memory, fatigue, just to name a few... Then, hearing later that you were a smoker... That can cause low back pain... I know that one doesn't make sense, but it's true... Not only with research, I experienced it myself... When I smoked, I had low back issues... After I quit the back issues went away until recently with perimenopause... Now it's my hip... Ask the doctor to do hormone testing and see where your levels are at... I will say GP's have little to no undersranding about hormones and the effects on the human body... Its just a brief subject they touch on just like many things... Unless they specialize in it... By the way, it's the threes that you will find the hardest on your no smoking journey... 3rd day, 3rd week, 3rd month, and 3rd year... I'm proud of you for doing this...

😊. Very sweet PO Box very expensive here, so I had to stop it. But all my links are in each video description for anyone to contact me or buy me a coffee ♥️
@@AFoxyMess UA-cam probably deleted it because I included some verbiage it didn't deem "appropriate". It doesn't matter. All I said was that your feelings are not diminished just because someone else's seem worse. Your feelings are valid and you owe nobody an apology for not being happy or positive or wtf ever. Your friends do care if they are true friends. They would be sad to find out you struggled and they didn't know. I know this from both sides of the table. Since the last video when you took a break, I have been listening to the Jelly Roll song. I could have written that song--except I wouldn't include "but it's all gonna be alright" because it's not--at least for me. This isn't new. It's that it's back. There are a lot of things I'm ok talking about but there are some things I only allude to and still others I will take to my grave. I'm glad I have friends who have been willing to see me through the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful. I'm glad I have the meds I need to keep myself on this side of the grass. I've said more than I should have. This wasn't supposed to be about me. If anyone judges you, f 'em. You don't need them. I learned that the hard way. I am too old and too busy to deal with fake ass people. I am also too old to run after people who are the "let's do lunch" people and then you never hear from them. 3 months later they say the same thing. I barely have enough time to see the people who actually care and do not judge. I'm glad you have good and real friends. I hate asking for help but I also hate wearing the mask sometimes. I've become very adept at looking together on the outside while crumbling to pieces on the inside. I do what I need to do. I hope you feel better soon. I know nobody said life was fair, but it's not fair.
@@sunflowerfields4409 We must get over the idea that life is supposed to be "fair." It never was, and it never will be. We are given many lessons to learn, and hardship is a tough test. But we can take the opportunity to be grateful for what we DO have, which is most of what we need, or we can resent and be bitter over those things we think we deserve but don't have. How we think about our lives and who we are helps us grow or diminish. It's not what happens in life, it's how we deal with it and grow through it. It's not easy, it's tough. But in the trials, we can maintain our joy for the blessings we have already, in abundance, and share that joy with others who also are struggling.

It takes the crave away, better than ciggies and way cheaper
Yes, I have one that I use to take the edge off ♥️
Hang in there angel :)
I'm so glad you are trying to quit smoking. It has to be hard but it will be so worth it for your health and your bank account. That does make sense that everything is magnified if you are trying to quit a 38 year habit and have other challenges in your life. Please don't give up. You got this!
Never going to give up! ❤️
One day at a time ❤️
Gig work will pick up.
Can I have a date and time please 🤣
Stressing about stuff, is never the healthiest method. Perhaps my older sister has long covid because she has experienced a lot of similar things (brain fog etc) but she lives in Australia so I can't advise her. I've smoked for 42 years now and I'm in the process of quitting.
Good luck!! It's tough, but I'm doing it... Barely lol
Sending you a big hug tonight. ❤️ Password: Victoria
Ohhhh
Thank you very much ❤️
I thought that was a scam, I get them often 🤣

4:59 for suggestion to add to your health plan, check on your inflammation levels, if you lower inflammation in the body the LC calms down .
Histamine causes inflammation , with certain foods people eat .
I take a supplement called histamine digest , it works really good,
Chris, you have made a very good point about not being able to have a conversation about the world and its people. Just not as Americans, Canadian etc… please know this community has your back. When you need to say something say it here we’re listening.❤ Enjoy the Timmy’s
Saying pray a prayer with hugs too boot.
Thank you ❤️ 🤗
Ok I know you said you didn't want suggestions... but after years of going down the doctor route ...
God bless you
Congrats on quitting smoking, that's awesome!

Sorry to hear what you went through!
@@AFoxyMess sorry that you missed what i was trying to tell you.
@deanlake7292 I don't think so, I wrote it down ❤️👍
First, amazing video!
😊
Can u do a sedentary job part time ? Where u have the ability to sit/stand as needed ? Ie reception
As we age we all get degenerative issues - the way you help is to exercise and gain strength to help get the muscles support around the degenerative areas
Eating and sleeping properly for long Covid is very important
Pacing yourself daily so you don’t over do it
You can google exercises u can do at the gym
What about medical EI?
♥️

All my tests are covered as I'm in Canada where the healthcare is free ( well not free, we pay through our taxes /system ect)
Over a year wait for mri, but Dr will request one if needed!
Hi again! How do you feel about emailing with your subscribers? I see your email in the ' show notes " Do people actually email you? lol
And!!
You can email me or DM me on instagram if you have it 😊
My clothes I tend to sell as I have some pretty cool items that I'm sure will get me a few $$
Also some rare collectibles that will work if I try eBay (now that our mail system is no longer on strike lol)
But if you'd like to share any information that might be helpful my email is in description of video ❤️
i feel ya, the funk is called seasonal affect disorder, called the winter blues. I have been in a funk also.
I hear a lot of people get that!
The brain fog and being tired can be so many things. Thyroid problem, hormones. I hope the drs at least do some lab tests.
Yes, labs done for most things, hormones next 👍

yet everyone says Canada health care is sooo great, NOT, I can walk in like 19 places at anytime here in the US
I think the only people that are saying it's so great are people that don't live here 🤣
Cut ALL sugar, gluten, carbohydrates (pasta/ crackers…) to begin with.
Could be both... Like you I was expecting the opposite of what I'm getting lol
Your finances will get better since you aren’t smoking. Smoking is very, very expensive I hear.
Thank you ❤️
There are a whole bunch of tests we still have to do, just taking it one step at a time, but I'll definitely mention that!

PO Box very expensive here, so I had to stop it.

comment deleted.... ok then. :(
Not by me!!! I didn't even see it 👀
@@AFoxyMess UA-cam probably deleted it because I included some verbiage it didn't deem "appropriate".
@sunflowerfields4409 sorry you are going thru stuff as well! You are right... You always are!
Is your van payed for? Can I ask why you live in your van?
No not yet.
Sounds like peri-menopause to me
I'm much past peri, but definitely some menapause stuff happening as well! The hot flashes tell me so 🤣
Hugs and Cannabis. RSO might help you health wise.
Thanks!
Thank you very much ❤️
