@AmariLeone Yeah. In one of the intro videos released on their UA-cam, Hyunjin and Chan talk about Hyunjin being involved in the production. It was his first time doing so I believe. Love your reactions btw!

@AmariLeone in fact Hyunjin was the main producer and writer. Channie assisted with both. He stepped in with producing whilst Hyunjin had to leave the country for a schedule.

yeah man, Changbin was actually trained as a vocalist in high school. After that, during his time as a trainee, his vocal coach advised him to also try rap.
And he became a monster! Love to see it
Chris' "so cover me now" power voice is often missed with people thinking both the "so cover me now" parts were Seungmin. So, massive shout out to Chris for hitting the high/power notes too, especially as he goes higher at the end 😍😍 I looooove this song

I love how it is staged all the way through. Bang chan did produce it, but it’s all from the artistic perspective of Hyunjin. Just like the way he dances sings, raps, paints, talks or laughs, Hyunjin pours his heart and soul into everything. You can tell this was Jinnie inspired. Again, this is one of my favourite songs from this album. It’s such an amazing album, you so see the growth of each individual in the group! This Group is so inspiring, I love them ❤

One of my favorite Changbin singing moments is when he and Chan sang eyes, nose, lips during a karaoke episode they did.
From what I understood, this is mostly Hyunjin’s song. He was away during parts of the production so he left a list of instructions to Chan until he came back and was able to produce the rest of the song. As far as using Felix in more vocals, once again that was Hyunjin who wanted this.
Of course I’m sure Chan helped Hyunjin out throughout the process but Cover Me is mostly Hyunjin.
And it came out great in the end

@@churailmukhithanks for the actual credits. We all know Chan will reduce any credit he receives to boost others so it hurts to see others run with that and do it even more. Man already puts himself in the background so much for the sake of others then people want to come and take his producing and writing credits from him too.
@MakeGoodTrouble 😊 welcome. I have seen this kind of credit stealing from Hyunjins stans in other videos, and it irkes me that they do it repeatedly to Banchan.
@@churailmukhi Have you watched the video of them making the album? Everything I said about Cover Me was said on that video. I am not trying to take away anything from Chan, why would I do that, we all know he is the genius behind the scene, but he is also a great leader who encourages his team to branch out and do more.
Changbin was born as a singer, but his teacher said he was a very good rapper so to try auditioning for it. One thing I LOVE about Stray Kids is that they ALL know how to do everything and the fact that they do everything themselves makes them even more special. ❤

I saw that, was just appreciating Seungmin's belt there. I give Chan plenty of credit (spent more time talking about him than anyone else in SKZ this video).
Definitely one of my fav song by them... Usually most of their songs are not melo or slow but when they do that its hit ... Aslo not only Hyunjin wrote the lyric of this song along with Chan but also directs the song... So proud of him

At first listen this song made me cry. It's only the second SKZ song to do so, after Youtiful.
Also, I've been a STAY only since February this year, and since then I had 3 fav songs between which I could not choose a number 1 absolute favourite SKZ song (my golden trio is Back Door/Miroh/Red Lights).
This one shot itself straight to the top of all SKZ discography and pushed the golden trio off the podium 😊
And it's not only because of Seungmin's power belt. It's Changbin's singing (I adore his singing voice, his duo with Felix is my morning alarm I wake up to him every day). And Felix's softness in the prechorus. And that electric guitar build up that is very much similar to the Red Lights one in intention, and sounds SO good. And Hyunjin's lyrics that are always so poetic (he uses the most beautiful imagery, among all SKZ lyricists). And Bang Chan's background vocals, so many lovely polyphony moments, sprinkled here and there, nothing too much, just the perfect seasoning...
And personally I LOVE the ending. They chose violence, they push you into the deepest corners of your soul with all those vocals, and then they just let you live with it... It makes a strong impression.

I absolutely ADORE Changbin's singing voice. His rap is insane, but he has this sweetness in his singing voice that just speaks to me. I love his performances in 'The Masted Singer' and his solo 'Streetlight', could listen to them on repeat.
My favourite part is the "what should I do" part that keeps you hanging, and then boom, you got hit by the chorus. Very powerful, I can't help become emotional. hyunjin is actually good as composing emotional and complex melodies.ot reminds me of Jeff Buckley's songs. I'm still amazed because he's still young. You should check the last one they released with IN singing .

With stray kids, they all can sing they all can rap they all can dance and they all can make music. And they are improving each of their skills more and more every day.
Just to clear up some confusion, I'd say don't trust kpop fans when they use the word "produced". So this song's topline is made mostly by Hyunjin, the second verse being written and composed by Chan. Chan also produced the track along with Nickko Young who is a guitarrist.
Thank you for saying it, feels like ppl tends to forget Chan worked with him, we are all happy to see Hyunjin being more involved into songs production but doesn't mean that we have to forget that Chan made the track with Nickko Young. I wouldn't be surprised to hear if Chan produced the track since a long time, then gave it to Hyunjin and they decided to work on it together cos they have similar taste in music( it's only my thoughts ). We know that he often does that, he produces some tracks then give them to the kids if they wan to make a song with it. I just wish ppl remember that they did it together and give credits to both that's all.
@@rachelszn5452 ahh if only you saw how many people claimed even the tracks are made by hj 😭they have no idea how credits work and even if they do they completely disregard it just to give all the credit to their fav. it's so disheartening seeing chan being disrespected like that every time he works with one of the other members. it mostly happens with hyunjin stans but happened with jisung or changbin too... i hope he doesn't give all the credit to the other member just to be nice and supportive again because stays do take it literally without fact checking.

I like your comments, they are always on point. I personally think all guys are doing amazing in this song, but of course because Felix didn't show his vocal range often, it hits hard when he does. I could recommend to you check out "Deep end" by Felix. This song is amazing because there he shows all that he can do with his voice and this is mind blowing and shocking

Stray Kids is a group that does not have defined positions, in fact Bangchan himself said, all 8 members can be vocal, 8 can rap, 8 can dance perfectly and 8 can be visual, that's why the group doesn't has specific positions because all the members can fit perfectly into all of them, listen to Skz's Muddy Watter is originally rap by Changbin, Han, Hyunjin and Felix but the members switched in one performance and Bangchan, Lee Know, In and Seungmin who did the raps, that is, everyone in the group is very versatile, there is no vocal line or rap line because they all are, I also recommend you watch Stray Kids karaoke, they even posted it on the channel there to listen to Changbin's vocals and see how he's perfect at it, just like all the other members of course

If he didn't participate in the writing and producing his name wouldn't be there. It's literally well known that Chan takes a back seat to much of the credit and praise ALWAYS. ALWAYS. He never takes it for himself, always praising others first. So just because you want to take his humility and humbleness and run with it to puff up your fave doesn't make it or you right.

i love this song, it's my favorite on the album! i'm obsessed with that electric guitar in the chorus and the "so cover me now" part at the end. it's always great to hear felix sing too, his upper range is really nice. ballads can be hit or miss for me too, skz ballads always hit though. loved your breakdown of the song, as always!

Check out Deep End by Felix. He covers 3 octaves in his solo song and its insane! He is SOOO much more than just a deep voice.
yes! they’re all so versatile! all of them can sing, just some aren’t too comfortable with it so they tend to stick to rapping. changbin said himself that during trainee days he was originally a vocalist but his vocal teacher said his voice would be perfect for rapping so he tried it and it’s now what he’s most comfortable with. he was actually on the korean version of The Masked Singer! also hyunjin songs are some of my favorites because he puts so much thought and emotion into each and every lyric. they all do but his lyrics just really cut deep
I know just what you mean about Felix's voice - he has enormous range and it is a shame to just roll him out as a one trick deep voice pony; I adore his voice here when he's singing in his middle register. The good thing is that while that crazy low bass might suck people in off social media in the first place, if they actually stick around and work their way through the discography they'll soon hear the many colours of Felix's voice. Hyunjin and Changbin can also go really low, just not quite as low as Felix - try CHRONOSAURUS for a show of their deep registers along with Felix (I'm shamelessly plugging CHRONOSAURUS again, but I'd just really like to know what you think of it! 😂)
Hyunjin loves reading and writing poetry and it really shows in every song he writes - his lyrics just have a certain feel to them. I don't think you've reacted to LOVESTAY yet - it's several members writing/producing it but he was the main driver and if you know that he went on hiatus, coined the hashtag loveSTAY because of all the fan support, and then came back in time for NOEASY, you'll appreciate the MV for the song so much - it is a thank you to STAYs, not meant for mass consumption and makes STAYs very emotional.
Changbin has a gorgeous singing voice - here are a few where he sings: his solo STREETLIGHT (but there's no subtitles on the MV so you'll need to do both MV and lyric video; a heartbreaking and brilliant song); BECAUSE (SKZ-RECORD) with Felix, just gorgeous vocals from both, again find English lyrics on the side; NEVERENDING STORY (which you'll probably have to blur out or watch on your own because of copyright issues), and 24 to 25 (which is Christmassy and therefore PERFECT for this time of year!).
You should see Changbin on the masked singer singing Tic Tac Toe. Shocked me so much! It is on UA-cam. I fell in LOVE with his voice. Had no idea he could sing like that....and I need more of it.

I came here from another video that got me crying and I’m still crying goin through with your video. Just how much this song’s musicality *gets* me. It is sooo emotive in every aspect. And knowing a little Korean also makes the Korean parts hit harder than the English translations. Like 안아줘 just means “hug me” but when said in Korean just hurts me with its desperation.
So Seo Changbin was actually a vocalist when he started and a vocal coach told him to try rapping and he was just naturally that good i guess 🤷🏽♀️

The first ballad from them I checked out was Felix's solo Deep End, it's very simple but omg the lyrics and the emotion he put into it, it made me so sad immediately, I felt nauseus, it's really that good but still simple. I write romantic books and I added it to my writing playlist

I find that the only people who say their stuff sounds the same, are accustomed to groups who have a completely different sound on every title track. *Stray kids dont do that, the kpop industry told them they make noise music and thats all they are. So, stray kids have decided to give the world a "Stray Kids Song" as the title tracks and main Bsides. Otherwise, they would have much worse to say, and whether they like it or not, they cant have SK not support them. They need the invites for interviws, photoshoots, and variety shows. In kpop, theres much more to surcival then music. The other... They have only ever heard their title tracks and MAYBE their main Bsides. Probably not even all of them, because back in the beginning, they did other styles for their title tracks, and they just didn't do as well.. and this was before international even started to happen and they were korea only, even then, they had to stay in their box even though their boxlx was considered unlistenable. They had it rough. Because they still hadnt built up their fandom and they were being pushed around by the korean punlic who was like "STAY IN YOUR LANE!.... WHICH WE HATE!!" PLUS, if you actually pay attention to Sclass, they are now purposefully, sometimes at least, teying to give the GP Exactly What they hate about SKZ. That was S-Class... and the lyrics back that up. They even included an NMIXX changeup because netizens had literally bullied NMIXX out of doing it then got mad they stopped. They basically wanted to punish them all by making them listen to a song they hated the entire promotional period. There were 3 VERY AWESOME AND MASSIVELY POPULAR, Made to be title track songs, on their 5star album. They made that song just to get back at everyone who tortured their company over their music. Not because they felt they had to, they just needed motivstion for a "clear stray kids identity" song. Lol Because, And they had fun doing it! But it was also because they KNEW it would grow on people, and help bring in new fans, its was just too different not to. Besides, the amount of positive feedback it got from international people listening to skz the first time was insane. America LOVED IT. So... they were right to have made it. Of course, as always. Lmao Also, They have the WIDEST RANGE OF genres in all of the 4th gen and perhaps even all of kpop. Over FIFTY genres in their music. To say thwir music sounds the same... that just means that the person thinks they have a discography of 50 songs.... but its like 220 all together. So, when we hear someone say that, we simply know its highly untrue. In fact, i wouldn't even say their title tracks "sound the same" as you said, theirs a syyle there that simply proves one tjing... no matter who is sitting in that room with 3RACHA, and no matter who THEY decide to give some credit to. THEY, according TO Them and JYP, since debut, are the onez behind the music. And you can tell, if it was anyone else, there wapud be a disconnect between at east SOME of their music. Their isnt. No matter how different, theres something VERY MUCH 3RACHA about every singe aong. Even if just one 3RACHA member was leading it. The results of ALL their music, is from the members themselves. Seriously, their words, jot.mine. they are VERY vocal qbout this, as is JYP himself. Makes me feel like theres a reason they feel the need to aay that all the time, maybe people dont belive it, or maybe.someone is trying to undermine their involvement from within the industry and causing problems. Because i have LITERALLY watched them make a song, only to have another producer put their names on it last, yet they arr very vocal about who produced it. Its... an unfair world. Point is though!!!...When a group actually has full control, someone is always going to be.out to try and take the credit, over step their involvement, undermine the kids talents, and profit off of their wndless hard work. I think thats why they let us see them make the music soxoften. That way no matter what, there is evidence. (Brcause according to them, they have to work with the company od what songs go on each album, but at the end of the day, its all their music so, again, that changes nothing about the end result... they have a sound, because they are the main men in conteol of creating it all. They are happy to accredit the few people they TRULY work WITH. they have 2-3 main friends that they allow to have i input that aids in the development of the song. However, a lot of the names we see in the credits list, i have watched bamgchan happily explain that they were running a partiular machine, or working the board for him, or they werre in a diffent contry and a new recording studio and the guy insisted on runking the directors spot with chan in the passenger seat, one time, he even said that because of a internal problem that had nothing to do with SKZ, a just who was helping fun tech had to be given production credit on a song. Ita q messed up industry. Still, they like what they make too much to ever let any of that get them down.. Back to the topic though, they never stick to a sound. If you look at the genres used in the title tracks, yes, hiphop and differentforms of EDM come off very prominent. But if you really liaten, you notice all of them have different sub-genres, and completely different concepts, overall sounds. Heck... they eveb use different song formulas IN THE TITLE TRACKS. People think they dont, but they are also the same people who will be listening to the new title track and expect aomething to happen and it doesnt. Example... the "kpop drop" that kpop haters said all groups did. Skz came out with Thunderous and literally laughed at them. Sclass.. what even is the structure.to that. Japanese title track Circus, that ia STILL one of the most insane formulas. VENOM, not a title but you see what im saying about titles and main bsides. They really DONT have a "formula" unless "rap verses, sun bridge, catchy malodic rap chorus, and different arrangements for the structure than any other group out there" is a formula.
I think its so funny when peoplle say they sound the same, when they can even guess what is going to happen next in a new song and act all cockt like "heres the drop" and it doesnt happen. Thing is, stray kids have vows to eachother that no matter how popular a genre they get into on an album is, they will NOT stuck to if for thensake of pleasing people that qouldnt support them if they did something else. So if something is reminiscent of something else they have done, i guarantee, they have multiple motives for it. Continuation.... lore connection and they wanted people to be able to watch the MVS for that lore line and have it flow togrther well, or, they were very experimental for a little bit and they either had to go back to something FAMILIAR in order to keep the kpop tabloids from deciding they "lost their identity"... its actually kinda hilarious though, the kpop world just hates SkZ, because MOST kpop artist SOUND THE SAME, and the koment they try to chsnge, they get attacked. Look at New Jeans and at Aespa with their OST, its not wven Their song and they got hate for divergimg from their path. Stray kids found a solution. Instead of trying to show your diversity in your tirle tracks because thats all the hateful people who onpy pretend to care about you listen to, save the diversity dfor the fans who actually support you Use your title tracks for three purposes, catching people attention amd making them look deeper, Growing on listeners the kore they hear it instead of making them hate it the more they hear it (stray kids specialty) and to keep everyone off your back by giving the true haters something they hate so much they dont even want to be near it enough to send hate, and then for the rest of the GP, stay in your lane and avoid the "they lost their spund, they lost their identity, and thats what matters i Korea, AHHHHH! Lol anyone who knows kpop sndnis being honeat with themselves, will be able to say, whether they like ANYTHING skz have done or not, that they are their own group. They are unique, they are experimental and innovative, and yet no matter how many genres, concepts, or how much growth the6 have in their.kusocal identity... the songs they hear (titles and main Bsides) are very much Stray Kids. And in kpop, that IS important. Sad truth is, people love to say " i like them, but...." fillowed by, "all the music i hear (one time ans only titles) sounds the same (because i dont know that if i were to listen again it.would be very different to my mind)" ... seriously, Heyday blew me away. The first 5 times i played it, it went from just a mess for my nrain, to clearer, and clearer, until it was AMAZING and i have never experienced a song that changed in the way my brain heard it and broke it down, in my LIFE. you just gotta actually give them a chance, so when someone says that, i kuat feel bad for them, they will never know the true genius that is a sticky stray kids song. Lol anyway, the other one they will say is "I like them, but all of their music is too different and their albums arent "consistent"... which just means, i want my groups music to have the same exact vibe as my favorite song from them, but you know, nothing like it at all. I want them to surpise me, but stay yhe same. I want it to be a bop, but not noisy, and i want them to stick to their identity snd sound but never run out of new bangers and NEVER DISAPPOINT ME. So, yeah, Stray kids just... aren't consistent with their sound.".... So, half have a problem with them for "being too Stray Kids" and the other half for "not being consistently Stray Kids".... They must have a fixed identity and always crush it, and they need to be always new. Kpop will always hate getting what they ask for, simple as that. And they know they cant make everyone happy, so, they just decided to make themselves happy. And hyproxy, the fandom that ACTUALLY support their music and them. Who cares what someone who will never buy your album thinks (they would have heard more than the tirle if they dis lol) and who cares what someone who only streamed your new title once and then stopped supporting you completely because they didnt like that one song... when all you do is only aim to you try and please people who only case so long as you are EXQCTLY WHAT THEY HAVE INSTRUCTED TOU TO BE, and the moment you change a tiny bit or have one title that isnt a hit you fall from grace and literally can never get it back again. Whe you can have a fandom that ways, yeah, this alhum wasnt my style, but I see why they did it and i love them for that, i bet the next one will for this half of the famdom and i cant wait!!" Plus they sre who they are, no characters and no "who arr they really" because they make the music, we already saw their must vulnerable side, so they just decided.to make the group their own story and just be themselves. That made them human, and.locable, and made us care very deeply. They dont have to depend on the General public, but at the same time, the genral public really cant say anytjing other than."they are too noisy" while we all laugh knowing how many songs lile THIS.
P.s. Not sure if you are open to another ballad by the boys but suggesting Youtiful off 5Star. It’s a song of encouragement for Stay, was was #LoveStay from two years ago (I think). They have a few other emotive slowish ballads (Lost Me) and some that lift with crescendo part way through such as Scars and Voices.

Bangchan said in radio too that hyunjin basically made whole song bc it was too good perfect didn't need that much for edit or smth !!

Right? No offense to other members, but can we give credits to those members that officially credited without being questioned? And why it has to be Chan? He's not came in SKZ by default though. I get that fans wanted the limelight goes to their bias, I get that Hyunjin is heavily involved, so does Chan? He's literally the first arranger, try to have other instrumental under this topline that's not made by Chan, and see if you can get the outcome that STAYs familiar of.
