La Califfa - Hayley Westenra

This is gorgeous even if the photography is poor, so I decided to upload it anyway. Hayley singing Ennio Morricone's La Califfa. This verion is rather different to the one that appears on Hayley's album Paradiso. The arrangement is much simpler, not much more than Timothy Evans' piano - and I think Tim can be credited with the arrangement too. Sometimes a simpler arrangement destroys a song, but this time it definitely works brilliantly. This is a very beautiful melody that it seems was made for Hayley's voice. I love it, despite the camera shake!

This is so refreshing! Hayley Westenra is so easy to listen to cos her voice is so natural - not fake and affected like some other classical crossover singers! Really enjoyed this!
