Honestly sometimes, if you have atheist 1 person who knows what they are doing and bosses everyone else around, you can easily get away with 3 people. 2 mining, 2 collecting resources, and 1 putting tracks down. I know that it counts up to 5 players, but that's because you can pull people from one and put them in the other, if you have nothing to mine, have them collect resources, if you have plenty of tracks, have them collect resources.

You mean path clearing is more important than gathering resources? The priorities of the cutter in the video are structured like a basic needs pyramid. Resources are the most basic need, otherwise your train will run out of tracks. If that basic need is fulfilled, only then you need a path to the next station...
