There is no better example than Choppy Close of the importance of Origin to Qld careers. Rex Mossop said in replays of his try that he was making a name for himself IN SYDNEY. Now if you were to choose between, say, Steve Rogers and a young Chris Close for the NSW No. 4 jersey, Close does not get a game for either side because Qld could not pick him prior to Origin. Once that rort was ended, GAME ON MOLE.
