Ian Thorpe a mid distance racer and had just raced in the 400m Freestyle (and won gold btw) had to go up against Gary Hall Jr. The best 100m freestyler in the world......AND THORPE OUTGUNNED HIM!!!!! I don't know how, but he became a sprinter for a moment and shocked the world, best part of all? The Aussies toppled the undefeated Yanks and sent them packing haha.
One of thos rare moments when literally the entire country is watching.

Siddle's hat-trick is still a bitter-sweet moment because it was then followed by Strauss, Cook and Trott batting for what felt like weeks. And Australia lost the series.
