Out of every singer, I think Halsey makes the most sense to put out a makeup line. She does her own makeup for everything and often does it really creatively for her own album covers, mvs and such. She does her makeup in a very non conventional way so even though i think it’s not really a day to day type of brand, it’s really nice and makes sense for Halsey.
Yes because Halsey is so colorful and bright and her songs are awesome, and she is so beautiful and a very nice person, love her as an artist and a person ❤️

@taylorjohnson9321 You mean it’s uncommon for white eyeshadow to be worn day to day. But there ARE people who experiment and think it’s fun to play around with makeup and they’d like the option of white. Halsey’s entire line was this very point - makeup has no rules, have fun with it!

I bought almost $300 worth of these- lips and eyes- and I actually really love them. All the colors blend out beautifully, and I didn’t know exactly how to use them at first, but then I watched Halsey use and explain them. With her art background, they’re meant to be used alone or moved to create other colors. I use them directly on and then blend them out with a brush, or I use a metal mixing plate/palette to create a different color, then go in with a brush. They dry down and do NOT move. I actually used the pink eye shade, Dionysus, just on my hand, and forgot about it. Went to bed, and woke up with it still there- thought I had a bruise 😂
Anyway, if you use them the way Halsey actually explains to, they work really beautifully.
which is better for a beginner, the shadow sticks or the eye paints?
I’m very confused about some of these comments. I’ve watched several reviews of this brand, and everyone seems to be having similar issues. So, I don’t think it’s fair to say “Oh, Halsey’s an artist, and she knows what she’s doing. You’re just using the products wrong.” I’m a fan of her music too, but I don’t want reviewers hyping up a product if it’s subpar. At the end of the day, people watch these to see if they should spend their hard-earned money. If the product is bad, we want to know!
buuuut you have to inform yourself about it meant to be used. But I agree, that if it doesn't work for a lot of people its a problem of the product, no matter who made it.
everyone i’ve seen that had an issue loved it as soon as they tried again. happened with me too ! the eye paints are sooooo pigmented and when i first tried, it was a whole ass mess. now though, i use the products almost daily, for fun artsy eye looks !! you can definitely blend out some every day looks, but this line is really good for editorial looks. :))
It's a product that does require expertise to use. Cream products are hard to use. As for the price, I think it is okay compared to Kylie or Haus.
I’m so glad soph actually talks about the price in her reviews. I see a lot of reviews from bigger creators like NikkieTutorials and James Charles which talk about the quality and that’s important and I’m not hating on their videos, they’re also really good but they never talk about the price points of things but Soph does and I just find it so useful. Her reviews are always so honest and trustworthy!! Love you x
I like that Soph's pallets are priced affordable. I have found you can usually find a product just as good as the high end products at a lower price. Love you Sophie

I really appreciate you taking the price into consideration when evaluating products, it’s something that a lot of creators don’t talk about, but it matters to the majority of viewers and people buying the product(s)!
Actually Halsey is a makeup artist herself, and an artist in every way: music, paint, artistic makeup!
I wish influencers would educate themselves on the brand & their products so that they are more informed when giving a review. Imo it makes for a better review. It really grinds my gears when influencers don't review products based on what they are intended/described to do. Like for instance when a influencer hates on a light- medium coverage foundation because it isn't full coverage.🤦🏼♀️
@@ashg2895 I think Sophs review is more for the "average" make up wearer. Which personally helped me more than if someone did an art piece in their face😅 You're right, it would be nice if they did research, but i think this review is more a review of the products as sort of "everyday" products rather than art supplies if that makes sense.

I doesn't matter, the products are over priced, the packaging is cheap, its not worth the money unless you are a Halsey stan, in which case you'll buy it anyway.
The liquid lipstick packaging (and acc the product itself) is like a straight up dupe of the L’Oreal Les chocolats liquid lipsticks

i love love love halsey but i think it seems as though your paying more for the name rather than the quality and something different..
Completely agree and for products that already exist that are cheaper and probably perform better tbh. Yes, aesthetic and story will draw you in, but if the quality is meh and you’re charging high end prices, you better bring it with the quality and performance of your products. Unfortunately, I’m not seeing that with this brand.

I think that is the issue with a lot of these celebrity make-up brands. They’re able to charge so much because of the name. It’s already an over-saturated market so the product better out perform cheaper products to make the price tag worth it. You will always have those who will buy the celebrity’s brand product because of who they are. I feel like the reason people are saying for celebrities to stop coming out with their own brand is because lately it seems like every time you turn around another celebrity is coming out with their own brand. I would rather purchase a collab from a celebrity with an already established brand where the quality is already known.

Hi soph, I’ve recently realised how much more aware you are of other people which is such a breathe of fresh air, I have mobility issues and issues with my hand which means it’s a struggle to do simple things so this packaging I would not at all be able to hold and use, I sometimes struggle with my brushes and sponge let alone that tiny tiny lid! Watching your videos really help my make up and let’s me shut off too! ❤️❤️ ps pinky is just adorable 🥰

Thanks Soph for your honest review! I have seen so many cool, creative looks with these products that are not wearable on a normal basis. So I love that you are the first one who is honest about applying it and using it as a "normal" person and not an artist. These products are clearly cool and artists will love them, but clearly the mass will not. And that is fine.

I always appreciate an honest review! I was pretty excited for the idea of this brand and at least it's something different. It feels very original to me in terms of the types of products she launched with. I don't love that the blue eye crayon totally creased, especially for the price! I did really like the look of that cream highlighter you tried - a really natural glow!
I personally think it creases because of the “base” she did at first, she also put a bronzer on top of that and then she put the shadowstick, it has never creases on me, any if the shades 😫

I’ve never seen foiled compostable bags before. Compostable bags are starch based so they can’t be foiled. If they are it’s only part of it. Does the website say they are?
@@abbiet2444 It says they are fully compostable on the foiled bags itself. Well that's what other reviewers read on the back of it or something. But I haven't ordered from the brand myself. 🤷🏻♀️

I finally gave in and got your highlighter palette Soph! I can't wait until it gets here, if its as good as the highlighters in the BH Belgian waffle palette ill be in love. I'm still new to highlighters and haven't found many I actually like yet. But the 2 in this video definitely looked nice but not 30 dollars kind of nice...
Your base looks gorgeous
I like the matte eye paint. I have mine in smell before rain. I use mine as a base and put a shimmer on or use other shadows on top. I love it it lasts all day. The lip paint is so dry on me but I’ve been putting a gloss over it and it looks so pretty. I like the eye crayon for my inner corner. I wasn’t crazy about the lip liner. My lips can dry out easy and it made them flakey.
