This is the best explanation of how to use PyMOL movie commands I’ve ever seen!

Chimera superuser that was forced to switch to pymol after 10+years here. Excellent tutorial! Crystal clear. Thanks!

Really appreciate your video! I found that if you click and hold CTRL (or COMMAND) and select label, it only selects label without messing up other residues

Hello, great video! If I want to change the duration of a scene for longer time, is there a quick way to change it? And how to remove scenes from the frame?

Really nice video. Thank you very much. I noticed something maybe I can share it here. The sticks and the cartoons are overlapping. How can you avoid this without making a second object (by copy to new object)?
Thanks a lot again. Great work.

Is it possible to animate the atoms in those residues to show the reaction mechanism?

Hey, thank you for your videos, my pymol skills improved 100 %. I have a question. Can I combine this style of movie with a trajectory of molecular dynamics? Im having a difficult time trying to set this up. If you have any hints i will be glad. Thank you again!

How can I export the movie in the free pymol version?
I followed your instructions and the video only plays for 2 seconds and not 20 seconds, apart from the fact that the video format is not compatible with my PC
    Help me :(

Thank you a lot for this video. I have some doubt about the next "can i go beyond "600"? or let´s suppose that i want to record a video of three minutes, is this possible?. Thank you in advance MM.

It is! Check out some of my virtual reality macromolecules videos. I think I have some animations around 2 minutes. I did buy a supported version of PyMOL (2.0) so I'm not sure if it's possible with every version. Thanks for watching and leaving me a comment!

Mine somehow only saves 3/4 of the total frames? Idk why. I tried 28 second video and exported only the first 23 seconds. I tried making a 20 second video, and it exported only the 15 seconds huhu.

If we change the Dihedral using pymolwiki.org/index.php/Set_phipsi , the angle change is not reflected in the scene. Can you please make a video how to set phi,psi with pymol and save the scenes. Thank You

Great video. Finally I can use PyMOL properly! Thanks a lot!
However, I have a problem. I can't move the labels even though I change the mouse mode to the 3-button editing. anyone knows the solution? I am using an educational use version.

If you're using 3-button editing, you'll need the 3 button mouse for that to work properly. I think you MIGHT be able to move the label with the scroll wheel, but haven't done that in a long time. Maybe try the two button editing mode? When you click, you'll also need to hold control or option on the keyboard at the same time.

is there any option to scroll seen 3 up to be seen 1? or I have to repeat all the sences?

I have not yet found a good workaround to change the order of scenes once you've created them. BUT there is an option to update a scene, so if you're not changing the order too much, you can create a new scene, click on an old scene to load it, and then RIGHT click on the new scene and click update. It's a pretty clunky workaround, but that's all I got! If you find a better way, come back and leave me another comment :)
