If you dont like LZ dont listen to them. I dont care where they got their songs from..they are all unique to LZ. there is no band like them. no one sounds like LZ.
Iv been listening to Led Zeppelin since 1969. Nobody hold's a candle to these 4 men! In fact they do credit the blue's artist that inspired thier songs. Rest in peace-Bonzo
I've always loved The Beatles and Stones and a few other greats....but that doesn't change the fact that Led Zeppelin remain may favorite band by far and certainly the greatest rock band that ever stepped on a stage.
That just shows us great musicianship doesn't come from: sequencers, computer-programmed algorithms, and auto-tuners; but from the "mind(creativity), heart(soul), wrist and fingers(talent)!
I walked up the stairs one evening into my friend's room and his brother was playing the song "Black Dog". The year was 1975. I had never heard anything like that song before in my rather short musical experience. I almost fell back down the stairs. The tempo, the timing, the intensity. It was love at first riff. 36 years later I still can't stop listening to this band
At 10 years old I got into the Beatles - by 11 The Stones - at 12 it was The Doors - 13 = Hendrix - at 14 I discovered LZ - Now I’m 51 and it’s still Led Zeppelin for me.
Lord of rock Led Zeppelin! Grace us with your might love. words of jack black. And still today Led Zeppelin is still being praised by listening to their electric magic of music
Recorded in 1972 judging by Robert Plant's voice, during the houses of the holy sessions, which a couple ended up on Graffiti. That's why his voice sounds quite different on some of these tracks. 1972 he still possessed his upper register but lost it by the end of 1972
Cool story! At age 13, I had heard of this amazing song called "Stairway to Heaven". I hadn't heard it yet, but I just KNEW it wasn't Mom's church music. I listened to the radio every day, hoping to record it, with the family's Hi-Fi wired in to the portable radio. When it FINALLY came on, I remember lying on the floor in my Mom's room, recording it and adjusting the volume so she wouldn't hear it. She kept turning it off, and said "c'mon now". I still hear Mom's voice whenever I hear Stairway.
I like almost every Zeppelin song I have heard but I ahve to admit that I turn the station or move to the next song when certain songs come on . Just beacuse they are so incredibly burnt to a crisp over the course of yrs , and I have been listening for many yrs.I cannot sit thru the orgasm sequence of Whole Lotta Love or sit and groove to Dyer Maker like I did as a young man . But generally , if I hear a Zeppelin tune , I turn up and shut up . This is why I appreciate posts like this
Thought I'd heard every scrap of the mighty Zeppelin in existence....I was wrong and this is great! Thanks for posting!! I hear a Trampled Underfoot feel to this one. Page and Bonzo really stand out.
Baby Mmm baby 'M gonna bring it on home to you I've got my ticket, I've got that load Gone up, go higher, all aboard 'M take my seat, a-right way back, ooooh yeah Watch this train goin' down the track Gonna bring it on home Bring it on home to you Watch out, watch out, man move Try to tell you baby What you tryin' to do Tryin' to love me baby Love some other man too Bring it on home, bring it on home Went 'n a little walk downtown, ah yeah Missed 'n got back late Found a note there waiting An' it said, Daddy, I just can't wait Bring it on home, bring it on home Bring it back home, bring it back home to me baby Tell you, pretty baby You love to mess me 'roun' I'm gonna give you lovin', baby Gonna move you outta town Bring it on home, bring it on home Sweetest little baby Daddy ever saw I'm gonna keep you lovin' baby I'm gonna give you more Bring it on home, bring it on home Bring it on home, alright Bring it on home Bring it on home to you
@PinknessOfFloyd Very well stated and correct. Zeppelin's incredible chemistry was possible only with those four stellar musicians. Take any one of them out and the greatest band in rock history ceases to exist....The billion or so Zep fans all knew in their hearts that when Bonham died it was over. It still makes me sad.
Zeppelin never "stole" a song they just plugged in the guitars and Roberts voice and made it their own version...that just sounded a hell of a lot better
Shame this never made it on an album. It's the best thing I've ever heard from them that didn't. This really shows off Page's creativity with some unusual chords.
Awesome!!! I used to have this boot on cassette back in the 80's and the quality was really bad. I tried importing it to the computer and cleaning it up but it still was pretty awful. Thanks for posting one of my favorites!
Jimmy kept pushing in different directions with every album. Physical Graffitti is their dance album. His wicked sense of rhythm is what most people take for granted.
Damn, what a groove. These dudes were the undisputed masters of the wicked groove. Been Zeppin' for 30 years, never heard this song b4. What a gem, a previously unheard studio track! IMO their studio prowess totally overshadowed what they did onstage from a guitar standpoint - Jeff Beck Syndrome. Phenomenal in studio; but frenetic, imprecise and even sloppy onstage, unable (or indifferent) to bring the dynamic emotional range live. Just my opinion, LZ and JB are my fave grp & guitarist
When Zep first appeared, Page said they were just BASIC and RAW. Some the beats and rhythms (some of them) are not that complicated. They just pound and pound in a BASIC and RAW way. And it works.
Page used these chords in many of his songs. He loved them;you can tell. They lend themselves to quick solos that he could fly into. THis song was its own and probably just got left off the album because the vocals didnt come out as clearly as the guitars and drums.
ya, this is "custard pie" and "the wanton song" rolled into one.. i have never heard this..... and i am a zep junkie.... i was at the last show ever in the US, sunday july 24th 1977 in oakland CA... definitely not their best gig, but an important one in zep history... i love you tube for all the crazy shit that is available....
Does anyone know the Zeppelin song where Robert plant talks in the first minute with no music and i think a harmonica comes in...It might not even be Zeppelin but it was damn good!
@zachmcfatridge Custard Pie has a slower tempo than this and the Wanton Song. I'm not too sure if the Wanton Song came from this, that's just what I think.
It was never intended for you to listen to - it was just a simple live-in-the-room recording using cassette for Page to listen back to later. Stop complaining.
@cainusrising without a doubt, couple years back i saw him open for robert fripp, the man was responsible for most of the grooves that zep wrote throughout their career...absolute genuis...had no idea until i saw him solo
no no i was being hotheaded with that comment and have made that error before I knew what you were trying to say, but true I can't hate on Paul anyday. Oh they were the best rock group and imo the best group of the 70s in terms of lasting impact and the heights they reached back then. I wasn't around so I guess you have me there, but it just sounded strange Grand Funk was the biggest 70s band, but then again I was not alive.
If you dont like LZ dont listen to them. I dont care where they got their songs from..they are all unique to LZ. there is no band like them. no one sounds like LZ.

will i be bullied for saying gretta van fleet?
@@pp_h jew, you can love and hate just as much as you always have. You may even be the best at both.

Will someone let me out of here!!

Led Zeppelin is my #1 band of all time! Led Zeppelin is one those bands where people either love or hate them,I fall into love Zeppelin category

This is great! Thanks so much for posting 'new' Zeppelin! Any time I get to hear zome Zep that I haven't before, I feel blessed.
Percy and Bonz both shire boys, long live the sauce.
Love at first riff. It's the best quote I've ever heard about them

i have the whole set 11cd's from 1968-1980 all studio rehearsals AWESOME!!!!!!
Gotta love that Bonham "Thud" on the kick drum! Great jam!! Thanx for sharing!!

I started out kind of not liking this due to its rawness but its really got under my skin. Excellent!!

This is extremely Physical Graffiti. Like all the songs in one.

Agreed.

Reminds me of what you said, "Sick Again" in particular.

is it just me or is it Wanton song mixed with some trampled under foot... love this so much
Yep. This was 'Wanton' in its incubation form. That chord progression is undeniable. And the time is definitely close to "Trampled."
A little of octave riff from Wanton and little bit of the descending vamp riff from of custard pie.
u talk jazz...
Makes me wonder how many more awsome tracks likes this are stashed away somewhere!
Thanks for posting this. Cool song. Sorry they never released this on album.
Check out John Paul Jones.
Bass line is killer
Bonzo leading the way as usual!
I love these demos/outtakes of Zepp!
What a groove that is....
This evolved into The Rover, excellent!
this is why zeppelin is the greatest live rock band in the world.. they are writing sngs while there playing on stage... perfect

Yeah, Im hearing everything everyone else is. Its like an embryo or something, LZ's venture toward Funk/Jazz Rock, Amazing!
another gem, it'd be nice if jimmy went back in the studio and polished this one up.

Led Zeppelin lands on january 11th in de ahoyhal rotterdam
sadly this was 30 years before i was born
thankfully this is on youtube
Just great just like the tons of other great songs Zep would have had if it never came to a tragic end
Just when I thought I knew all my Led I hear this! Pretty cool hook.
The Wanton song?
so do i, that's my dream since i found out that the best rock groups were born during the 60's and 70's
Jimmy kept pushing in different directions with every album. Physical Graffitti is their dance album.

flipin good groove
This only gets better every time you listen to it: Just like everything Zeppelin ever did.
Just WOW!!
This sounds exactly like an early in the works version of CUSTARD PIE!!
More like the turnaround in Wanton song, no?
Electroelectro I agree, definitely Wanton Song-esque.
Electroelectro It splice into those two.. those chords decreasing went to Custard Pie.. and the groove thingy went to Wanton Song.. :)
This is fucking unbelievable, christ it's damn perfect! The guitar is funky as the devil, not anything i would have expected from old Pagey
It's cool. It's groovy. It's number one. Led Zeppelin~
definitely hear wanton song in this. Nice find!

@mvandeven he formed the band, he produced the records AND he wrote 90% of the riffs and 100% of the solos. they were all equally part of the band
