Good review. Only critism from me is that there was no mention about the beam characteristics. Apart from that, I enjoyed the review and will definitely give a like for it.
Thanks for watching I appreciate your support! I'll definitely try and include more about the beam characteristics in future, if it helps there's also a beamshots short for this light.
Really dumb question, I'm sorry, but I just want to be sure before I buy... If I set the light to a setting (eg. medium or eco) and then turn it off. When I press the tailcap will it go straight to that last set mode? NIce video! I appreciate you talking about mechanical tailswitches. I didn't know about that.
Not a dumb question at all! I just tried it out and it retains your last used mode, but this doesn't work for moonlight. I'm happy you found the video helpful! If you don't mind the two switch UI then it's a really solid light, hope you enjoy it!
I must not have seen it but what does the tail switch do in Tactical mode? Does fully clicking the tail switch activate turbo immediately or does it remember which ever mode it was in last time? Also does anything happen during Half press?
When in tactical mode the tail switch defaults to turbo, you have to use the side switch to go down to medium, there's no mode memory for tactical it's always turbo first. A half press is momentary on, but if you do a quick double tap of the tail switch you can get into strobe mode. As far as 'tactical' options for tail switch lights go, it's fairly solid, I prefer the way Olight splits the UI between side and tail switch, but for a mechanical switch the TD04 is good. I hope that helps!
Thank you so much for the reply! This actually answers all the questions I have. I too do prefer the Olight dual-switch UI on my Warrior 3s, but I’m liking the look of this light and the value it presents.
@@xbassmaster69x Don't mention it, I love engaging in discussion on gear! It really is a looker, and I have found myself using it as a desk light. I think it would do well in a bag light scenario, or perhaps living in a jacket for walks. I received the Wurkkos TS23 today, which is a tail switch only tactical light, and I have to say it's really impressing me so far too.
I just ordered the TS23 thanks to Prime day! Please tell me you’ll review that one if you haven’t already! Love the simplicity of the tail only switch for that light specifically.
@@xbassmaster69x glad you snagged one at a discount! I'll definitely be making a review video for it, I'm still testing it out and have some videos I need to release before it, so I'd expect to publish it probably late next week. I'm really satisfied with the quality and UI on it, and it's the first time I've seen a light add a glass breaker and actually thought it'd work. Please keep me updated on your thoughts once you get it!
I have the TD01C, TD02, TD03, TD04, and TD05. Of those, I use the TD04 the most. It's not huge for a 21700. I like that you can get moonlight out of it. The TD02, even though it's a reverse switch, you can change the brightness by quickly pressing the tailswitch. If they could incorporate that UI in the TD04, it would be perfect to me.
Hey William! I'm subscribed to you through Paddy, great to see you commenting on one of mine! This is the only Wurrkos I've used, but it's definitely good enough that it's peaked my interest in other lights for sure.
@gearedforward Thank you. I haven't bought any flashlights lately, but I still watch videos about them. Wurkkos and Sofrin make great flashlights. Once I discovered them, I mostly stopped buying Olight's.
@@WilliamsKnifeLife I have more experience with Sofirn but definitely agree! Although I didn't stop buying Olights, I just started having storage panic haha.
I accidentally purchased the newly released green version of this. I didn't need it, really. Though somehow went with it. If i were to be spending a sum for a new light it would be for something with those "buck drivers" built in and whatnot.
What do you think of the TD04 and Wurkkos? Do you like this style of UI?
Very helpful review!
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!

9:00 great pointing out is design basic functionality issue most flashlight rewards gloss over or ignore completely

I daren't open the can of worms that is 'do I need it' but agree buck drivers are definitely interesting!
