February's episode is being taped next week and it's with RepYourWater's own Garrison Doctor. Garrison just so happens to be an Umpqua Signature Designer as well. Drop your questions for Garrison (February fishing related or not) down below!
Greetings!! Much love and respect to Rep Your Water, much love and respect to Tanner, Ivan and all at Trouts!! My question is, when are we gonna have a Trouts and RepYourWater collaboration hat?! 😉😘
When using a euro nymphing set up, what is the best way to attatche leader to fly line, with still being able to change out leader easily? I tied a nail knot, but when I wanted to switch to a different diameter leader.. I had to snip n retie my nail knot. Is there a better way? Snip but section of leader and tie from there? (May caise more bumps when going thru guides). Leave thr loop to loop? Or just make more money and buy spare spools? Thanks for all your insight and advice.
There's always anglers up early on the tailwaters at Deckers. Is there a significance in success being early versus when it warms up.. What's more affective during this time of the month if you're up that early. Size, color or having does having a specific run help.
Where do you put the weight on your rig? If it's a beaded fly, do you put that on your first fly or last? Would you put splitshot between flies? Thanks guys
Do you have any tips for tying tiny flies onto tippet while you are on the water? Is the secret just to not and have your nymph rigs pre rigged in a warm home? Also what is your lower limit on fly size? Finally in you ropinion do you think that the fly size is more important or tippet size especially in the colorado tailwaters we all enjoy?
Are you for or against tippet rings? Lol also this was your first podcast that I watched. It was great for some background noise while tying some flies
February question. Does anyone use battery operated socks to keep your feet warm? I see that simms sells a boot foot wader that might be warmer. Explain why you would or would not use the boot foot wader? I can keep my body and hands warm but i get cold toes after 3-4 hours. Tom Bonnot.

Question for Garrison: As an avid bird nerd, do you use your aviary knowledge to improve your fly fishing game, or is it mostly so you can tell me about the blue billed hooted swallow you saw on the water when we get back to the lodge?
My question for the Doctor is, can you design a tattoo for me and I will head over to dead drift tattoo and get it done. My other question not for the doctor but when will Charlie Blackmon be on the show. And a question for Ivan, what hat were you wearing? A new Trouts hat?

I miss the original 5 flies that you filmed on the rivers. Definitely not the same in a studio.
I think you over thought this.
