Until a few weeks ago, Hutchinson was a member of the MAGA cult and gladly accepted a lawyer from Trump world since they would pay her fees. Keep in mind that she’s still very young and does not have much money. But, when faced with the possibility of jail time if she did not cooperate with the committee, she switched lawyers and immediately worked out a deal to testify.
She recently changed lawyers from one of Donnie's to a new one who is looking out for her and NOT for Donnie.
Why would she lie when she is literally puts her own life and safety in jeopardy by testifying?

How does an attorney for the us have executive privilege when he’s not the president’s personal counsel
It's my understanding that there is some argument about it, but in general a _former_ President and his staff can't claim Executive Privilege without the consent of the _current_ President. Which President Biden has refused to provide. Hence none of these bozos claiming Executive Privilege have a legal leg to stand on. This is the general consensus of legal scholars and Constitutional experts. Trump and his cronies obviously disagree. However there is a complicated legal jungle to navigate in order to be forced to testify, and it can take years to sort out. This is typical of Trump over the years. Even when he's clearly in the wrong, he simply runs out the clock on his cases.

I have the same question. Also as I understand it executive privilege protects the presidency, not the president which is why Trump no longer controls that privilege but the current President does. (See the decision on releasing trump archives made by Biden)

The only piece of hearsay is the story that she heard second hand about Trump lunging at secret service driver.
And that bit is not the most important point by any means. She had first hand accounts of Trump knowing there were weapons, Meadows was anticipating violence but did nothing, and that Trump expected to be at the Capitol. None of that was hearsay.

Executive Privilege needs to be legally defined by the law as specifically as possible. Since the White House Counsel does not work for the "president" and is NOT his personal attorney but works for the governmental office of the White House no executive privilege should be claimed. Technically it cannot be used on several issues as Trump is no longer in office and only a current president can claim this and possible crimes being investigated override the use of EP.

@@johns783 I think OP’s point is Cipollone should be claiming neither attorney client, NOR executive privilege because 1) He was the president’s attorney, NOT Trump’s personal attorney, 2) Executive privilege belongs to the current president, not former ones, as we’ve seen with subpoenaed documents.
3) I’d add that neither apply to hiding evidence of fraud/ crimes & according to sworn testimony to the committee, Cipollone mentioned the potential for criminal charges, multiple times, to multiple people.
Plus you shouldn't be able to claim any kind of privilege jn the commission of a crime!
