Stanley Kubrick invited this man to his house and had him break down the filmmaking process of True Lies scene by scene. Cameron is that talented of a filmmaker.

Cameron is such a humanistic filmmaker regardless of how bonkers his audio-visual presentation and high-level concepts are

What makes his audio visual presentation bonkers exactly?

It's ok to be white James, don't be apologetic, everybody has their own perspective on things, you don't have to be indigenous to have an opinion on indigenous beliefs and way of living, and that opinion matters too.

He didn't apologize for being white. It's just better to not just talk and write about people but to talk with them and to actually get their perspectives on the issues you want to make a Film (or anything else) about. Just look at how Martin Scorsese made Killers of the Flower Moon, which is a perfect example of how to tell a story like that, in a not only sincere but also respectful way to the people it's about.
