This was the best reaction video to the conference that I saw, and I have viewed many of them. Thank you.

What would an STR conference for parents of gay/trans kids look like? It’s hard to know because Schlemon is extremely equivocal when he talks about interacting with gay people: I’ve listened to two of his interviews on Andy Stanley, but I still don’t know what specific advice he would give to the parents of a gay child. Imagine him giving some (unspecified) advice at a conference to hundreds of concerned parents, all of whom have gay or trans children, just like at the Unconditional Conference. Maybe call it the Conditional Conference? Now estimate the results of that conference. What percentage of all those gay/trans kids are going to return to the bosom of the church? How about an even bigger conference to include the concerned parents of 50 to 80 percent of children who are leaving the church without even being gay?

Perhaps it should begin with prayer between the parents. A little Bible knowledge wouldn’t hurt either

@@musicappreciateYou can’t go wrong by telling Christians they need to pray more. And read the bible more. Do you pray and read the bible enough, you think? How’s that working out for you?

This is for you Mr. Stanley

Andy needs to go back and listen to some of his Dad's sermons.

Or, put the camera where Greg is looking. Surround it with pictures that make him smile.

I am glad though that the pro-lgbq people at the conference were nice but 💯 feelings are not how we determine truth.

Andy Stanley uses the word "traditional" to mean "typical." His approach is either at best inaccurate or at worst intentionally deceptive.

It's great that more people are talking and comparing Andy Stanley to scripture. I pray that he repents. He has pretty much always been off.

Andy Stanley loves to depict the church as always in the wrong and as embarrassing and he praises and holds unbelievers up.

I wish Greg would look at the camera. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I pray God will open the eyes of those who sit under Andy Stanley's "teaching", and twisting of God's Word. He is pure evil.

I think you're being generous and fair, considering your trad perspective. (I'm not really sure what my perspective is..I'm not gay, or liberal, or young) However, let me ask the questions that leave me on the fence. I'm not being a smart-ass, I really have questions:
Why is homosexuality the major abomination, the hill to die on, the Christianity- excluding sin, the deal breaker?
What does Jesus say about the unpardonable sin and how does that relate to this conversation?
Does anyone ever "go and sin no more?" Are we even capable of that?
If you are a Calvinist, how do you explain the cognitive dissonance between sanctification and total depravity?
If you're a Calvinist, and you think the elect are called, how is it that these gay Christians are not called?
As far as Pastoral response is concerned, the traditional trend seems to be:
    1. Vehemently deny the affirmation of a homosexual "lifestyle," even though we all know it's not a lifestyle, but an existence that is real to many people.
    2. Try to pray it away.
    3. When that doesn't work....sucks to be you.
Essentially, that is no Pastoral response.

      Hi Amy.
In regards to your first question, see the following:
      www.str.org/w/is-the-sin-of-homosexuality-singled-out-
      www.str.org/w/homosexuality-worst-sin-all?
Regarding "go and sin no more," the obvious answer is that no one is capable of perfect righteousness at this time. That's why we need Christ, and why believers are only found righteous in Christ. It's also why the Christian life is one of sanctification. However, this is never an excuse for continual, habitual sin, especially when we pretend that our sin isn't sin at all.
Regarding Calvinism and the unpardonable sin, you may wish to call in to our weekly broadcast or submit a question on our website for Greg Koukl to answer. Alan may eventually do a live Q&A on Instagram, as well, but that will likely be in the new year.

@STRvideos Thanks for your response. I will read the resource you suggested and see about calling in. I ask these question mainly because I am returning to the Church with a fresh look at various doctrines. I'm trying to educate myself and find a 'good fit' for me.
