- Flip a switch and she comes to life! Sorry we forgot to edit the front of the video....and....it's a little bit long. But the better to show you how great working with resin really IS! Grab your cuppa and maybe a sandwich....and come into the Messy Workshop with B'sue of www.bsueboutiqu... (B'sue Boutiques) as she reviews some of the techniques as found in the book EXPLORE CREATE RESINATE by Jen Cushman. Susan Lenart Kazmer is the artist that developed ICE resin, and Jen Cushman's book is surely the manual for the class. B'sue is committed to blogging and videoing through the book and sharing her findings with you. Why? Because she loves working with the stuff! Resin presents a wide berth of artistic opportunities for all artists, whether they are jewelry makers, art journalists, mixed media crafters----you name it, resin will help you in your adventures. In this video learn how B'sue mixes the resin for best success, and even how she repairs a few pieces that were less than perfect! Let"s take this journey together, and please share your comments with us at B'sue Boutiques. You can message B'sue through the website (above) or at the B'sue Boutiques Fan Page to get a quick response. Any tips you have are appreciated. We are all here to learn! Need supplies? We have ICE resin and everything you need at www.bsueboutiqu... #BSue_Boutiques
Seriously, I've been watching your videos all day because I am getting into jewelry making and your videos have been EXACTLY what I needed to see. You're extremely knowledgeable and I appreciate you imparting that knowledge on others, you're also a lot more interesting to watch than a few other people to boot!
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart
Video pals: ****I know the dryer is on and the lighting is not good***, We've learned a lot since 2011 about making videos; Please-check out our videos made recently at the bsueboutiqueschannel. As for resin, we don't carry resin any more, you can get it at any crafts store---we specialize mostly in components you can't easily find elsewhere, and we have 8,000 products at B'sue Boutiques: www.bsueboutiques.com As for resins: There are many good ones since Ice Resin came out---which by the way, I still like and often use---but you now have a wide spectrum of choices and most all of them are good.
BSue Bout. was one of the first place I ordered from after seeing her add in a jewelry magazine, and I just want to thank her for all the little extras she adds to each order.Excellant choices and prices.Tks for being such a generous and awesomely cool company, esp in these days of over inflation and companies cutting down, cutting back and making it all about the dollar and not the quality and caring.I will definetly be ordering many more items, you have loyalty and respect.TY,Lisa
Aw thank you Lisa, just going back through old vids and just found your comment. If you haven't come for a bit, you should come again. And also here at You Tube, we have Sunday Play Day now....LIVE!!! at about 4:30-4:40 pm EST every SUNDAY!
I watched this video yesterday, before trying ice resin in bezels and a couple of old watch plates for the first time. My pieces came out great!! Thank you SO MUCH for posting this - had I not watched this, I believe I would have not had the same success. I had made some wire wrapped steampunk pieces before, and had a lot of tiny watch gears left over. Ice Resin holds everything beautifully in place, including little keys, stones, and skulls. I threw in some tiny tourmaline points with equally good results. You have a great teaching style.
She right, anything can be "fixed" lol... in working with resin...."DOMING" Is your best friend!♡♡♡
I ordered my ice resin and now can't wait to get it. :)
You are always timely - even a few years later. 2 questions: will ice resin yellow if pieces are hung outside? 2. How would i “seal” a laser printed image before resinating? Love your pieces, tips, tricks, experience. Thank you.
Jane A. Thomas you should probably put between two Pieces of packing tape, burnish then trim, then resin.
This video is excellent. I love the pocket watch.
Thank you for posting this. Very educational and inspirational!
I LOVE that steampunk piece of art at 13:38. I REALLY want to make something similar for a friend who really loves pocket watches AND steampunk and thats the perfect thing!!
I enjoyed this ... her full detail explanations and comparisons. :)
i love how this starts with: "WHATS A BEZEL!?". hehe!
All your videos are great. YOU are so wonderful! Thank you for sharing your expertise, ideas and your great work. I wish I was RICH so I could but ALL YOUR components at your store! I'll buy a few pieces for sure. Thank you for your generosity. :) Love your personality so much.
Thank you as always for the great tips Brenda Sue. I think I will check out the Resinate book since I had so many Ice Resin flops I stopped using it. Sounds like there are ways to fix them up if they don't turn out right.
You are my favorite film star!!! ♥♥♥
I have this book and it's FABULOUS!!!
Great video and tips! I have the book and am waiting for my Ice Resin to arrive to start experimenting. Look forward to watching more of your videos :)
I think you are fabulous and I am a small crafter in your presence. 💖
I'm loving looking in the trust house.
You are sooo right. That's amazing!
love the steampunk ring!! Got to try something like that. great tutorial. Mandi. xx
I like these ideas.Thank you.I'll be following you and see what I can do in crafts.
Hi B'Sue, great video and you look absolutely fabulous!!! Maybe I'll try the ice resin one day. Keep it up girl, always a pleasure to see you!
it means pressing down hard with a popcicle stick or something that can smooth down the surface. You want to be sure the contact paper is smoothed down or burnished so the image is sealed. I personally just use modpodge on bezel first then put image down and brush more modpodge on top of image. Make sure it is dry before you apply resin.
Hello, I know this is an old video loveliea but did you do a video on resin clean up? - I've found with nearly 2 dozen heart bezels the resin has leaked up and all over the backs.. And I can't work out how to get it off I've tried everything I can think of and ruined over half the pieces.. Any advice or video link to ice resin clean up would be amazing!! Thanks x x
Ps. Holiday blessings to all x
My best advice is to practice until this doesn't happen any longer. Resin clean up is a bear! Sometimes I've just picked it off or softened a bit with acetone and kept picking. I worked really hard to pour slowly in a trickling stream and gauge it, so I never had to become an expert on clean up. I've never had to do a lot. At this time I'm doing more with UV resins as a top coat but let me do a little investigating. Have you heard of the B'sue Boutiques Creative Group at Facebook? Come and join us and ask your question, I bet you will get a ton of answers!
YOUR AWSOME AS USUAL!!! Im almost back to creating
What are the metal rings at 12:23 and the one you used with the bee (love that!) at 16:30? Would love to make open backed pendants but no idea where to source pure metal rings like that. Thanks!
Does the color bleed through with the resin mixture? Does it dry clear on black and white
I've seen ice resin used in other videos and it really is wonderful stuff. :)
This was an awesome tutorial! Thank you!!!
Thanks again B' Sue! =)
I really like the ideas and tips you gave, Woo Hoo!
I love your videos! It looks like so much fun :)
I like your style. I could hang out and craft with you. Cool vid, Im going to try! Thanks
I loved your video. Thanks for sharing.
Very beautiful job!! Compliments!!
B'sue is awesome. That is all.
Fabulous video!
Do you leave the clear contact paper on the back of the open bezel?
im looking foward to work with resin someday ... i was wondering if i place some resin over swarovski crystals would they loose their sparkle at all?
good question. I think I'm going to try with cheaper crystals to test. maybe put them in water and see what happens. it should have the same effect. sometimes it almost makes things look 2D.
Better not to do that. It will 'gellify' all the facets and look kinda strange. It will not be the same at all. @@tabuma
you make me laugh....love your accent and your demos

thank u for sharing!!! i watched the whole thing n learned a lot!
I like your style too, hope you are doing well...going to look you up. as soon as I saw you say, what's a bezel? I subscribed.
i would like to try doing some 3d painting in resin. like this guy paints fish but i would like to use some vary small fish bowls. like the ones given at carnivals when you win one of those Japanese fighting fish. I'm sure most people know what i'm talking about. however, even using a small glass bowl looks like it might take a lot of resin to fill. can anyone suggest a cheaper alternative? thanks so much in advance ;)
Can you tint it?
Yes, Castin' Craft makes a tint and so does Ice Resin. Not crazy about it, but you can do it for sure!
interesting. thanks
B'sue is an artist because she is a little bit messy LOL
I’ll look u upon fb...lovely inspiring video, Lisa Saxon (fb name)
