It really is crazy the difference of contact vs non-contact races. The first time i was racing the Sultan RS Classic, i was having such a hard time trying to break away into the top half of racers, and when i did, it was too late to catch up in the contact races (cause people cant drive, so they just spin you out)...I got to host at some point, set it to non-contact, and was consistently finishing 8 seconds ahead of 2nd place. now im aware thats not always gonna be the case (im most certainly not a great racer in GTA), just happened to be the case that night i was racing it.
Sultan rs classic, the BRAKES. Trash lol. Maybe that’s why you subconsciously go faster with it because u can’t slow down & have to pick a good line without crashing lol. Also it corners like a beast making up for the brakes
Maybe you could try a few higher skill racing techniques like trying not to lock up you're tyres and/or keeping your car straight while braking and turning afterwards (be careful with that one, oversteer can be a bitch especially with the sultan), that should kinda help you out if you're not doing it already, it sounds kinds dumb if you're playing with controller but try to feel the car and it will tell you what it needs, hope that maybe helps out
@@dart8827 I've been trying to find ways to upgrade my turning skills and this comment helps a lot. Do you happen to know any UA-cam channels that give good cornering advice?
@@alexanderjones8679 I mean you can find advice on racing, most will be in game like gran turismo and stuff but you can carry it on into gta, but to put it simple terms, to not lock up, just press the brakes as hard as you can, and when you feel, see or hear the wheels locking slightly lift up, with practice you'll find the perfect pressure variance for the car you use and you should improve a lot.
I would say that Calico isn't such an easy car to drive for non skilled drivers because of its huge tendancy to understeer, making it hard to control in the corners. The Growler and more so the Sultan RS Clasic however are way easier to drive in my opinion
Yeah the Cypher is heavy, grippy and hasn't got any under or over steering tendencies, it's the perfect car to just drive and cruise in. However as a hard core car guy I freaking love fighting the sultan rs and comet s2 around corners and you I just want to drive drive ig
Fabulous roundup, Broughy! Tons of thanks! ..I've been out of tuner racing a few weeks, haven't even driven the Sultan RS Classic! =:0 But yeah, racing aside, just as cruisers, every one of these new tuners is great. I enjoy the Dom. GTT, Comet S2 and Warrener HKR immensely for toolin' around in. I use either of these 3 for all the missions launched from my tuner garage.
I won about 30 races on Euros raising my tuners level. I think this is the most fun car u can drive on in this DLC. Slide at the end of a corner not so fast maybe, but still nice.
A very nice overall summary/review of the Tuners sub-class of cars there, some interesting close results in the top 4 or top 2 especially, and can certainly appreciate all the effort that went into testing everything to provide the community with some fantastic videos of the results!😁👍👏
here's an idea that will probably never happen: R* should create more sub classes like the 'Tuners' sub class. that will make racing a little more interesting than what we have today
I'd love to see you include your thoughts on the handling of each car. I'd trust your judgement on whether something was comparatively twitchy, how's turn-in, stability, etc. I know it's an opinion and not as rigid of a ranking as the lap times etc, but it would be very handy to know
I am hoping that each week I can get all the tuners for free through Prize Ride challenges. I have more than enough money to buy them all, but I’m way too stingy to do it.
Do you test all these cars with max suspension, or middle suspension upgrades? I can't remember exactly, but I think you said at one point that you test all cars with middle-suspension, unless they have the max camber flag that improves their performance when they have the maximum suspension upgrade (Club, Blista Kanjo, Vectre, Previon, etc. for example), in which case you test them with that. I think(?) I also recall all the tuners having said suspension/camber flag, but that doesn't sound right now that I think about it. I'm not 100% sure on any of this though, so if you could confirm one way or the other what suspension upgrade you usually test with, that'd be great.
ive been following this channel for years but haven't been subscribed because the physics of the cars after unrealistic. this update however has gotten me invested since i often dominate in my races, and with the quality of comparisons which Broughy's been pumping out, its safe to say im now subscribed, keep up the good work mate
I consider myself a pretty skilled driver, and I love the sultan Rs classic, I can literally dominate no prob, but whenever I'm stressed or just not feeling my jam it becomes impossible to drive I can definitely tell you it's not a car for everyone, the calico is way more forgiving
I find it to be the complete opposite for me. The Sultan RS and the Vectre feels so much more fun to drive. The Calico's understeer just makes me absolutely furious, because it'll always manage to make me clip into something solid around a tight bend.
Is it just me or does the calico become a completely different car to drive fully modded vs stock, I was grinding my rep using a stock calico to unlock the trade price and I LOVED driving it. Once i bought and upgraded it though it feels like a vastly different car and im not sure I like it. It felt like it had the perfect balance stock but fully upgraded it just feels way to stiff, idk I'd love to hear feedback if anyone else bought and used the car. Either way you are my saviour broughy! Returning to the game after buying it on pc once they stopped supporting it on ps3 i binged your videos to get caught up on the fastest cars and was sad to see my turismo is no where near on pace anymore :'( Edit: After doing a few more races in different lobbies it feels just like my good ole calico again, I honestly think a modder messed with my car in that lobby because it feels much better now and I'm so glad cuz I spent so much on it! 😂 Keep up the great work! ❤
If you're curious what an average driver thinks, I found the Calico and Vectre to be the easiest to handle in Street Races. The Growler and Sultan are much harder to keep from spinning out.
You might have custom wheels that have added too much front-traction bias. It's safest to leave all the tuners with stock wheels. It's easy to mess up their traction balance, more so than with other cars.
Most of the races I join have Catch Up enabled. So which would be the fastest if you’re leading a race with that? I usually choose the Calico as the acceleration out of the corners doesn’t get affected as much as the top speed.
Quick question from the future here. Do the tuner DLC cars still perform the same way did back when you did this video? Or would their lap times be different now with the changes on the handling flags?
different, the changes to the handling flag made them perform somewhere in the middle between this version and the nerfed version whether he'll retest it and put it in a video remains to be seen
It’s going to be interesting when “Expanded and Enhanced” finally releases and these cars get that speed boost. The Muscle Class and Coupe Class are both going to be ruined while the Sports Class will hopefully have some competition with the Calico possibly being the fastest car in the game by a mile… since R* isn’t giving this speed boost to anything else in the game, which is the most R* thing they’ve done.
People sleep on it because it doesn't have amazing speed or acceleration but it handles so well and is very consistent. I've done really well racing with it too though the sultan is faster for sure but easier to mess up with
I've been pulling wins all weekend with my Previon too. The car lacks power in the straights but it feels so planted on the corners that I can carry more speed on them. Frankly, I think Broughy's track doesn't really works as a good representation of the tuner tracks, because the Remus, Dominator ASP, Previon and the Cypher definitely doesn't feels as slow as it's shown here.
@@pedinhuh16 his track is really aimed for testing all areas of performance where most tracks aren't. Also driver skill and confidence are a bigger deal than car performance a lot of people just pick what is fastest when it isn't really the best car for them. My mate kicked my ass with his comet S2 when I was in a Calico and then I beat him in my Remus so if the previon is working for you that's good I haven't bought it yet I'm hoping it comes as a prize ride soon as long as it doesn't need those goddamn sprint races lol
@@Token_Black_Guy one of mine was with the dominator asp and got the exact same time in the comet S2 lol. I love my cypher it's so nice in corners though while it's not as slow as people make out I do notice a big difference between it and my sultan rs classic but the sultan does have a tendency to spin out in slow speed corners if you're not careful
I don't know how and why you based that the best car is sultan. In my personal experience I get good results when I choose calico's car. When I choose sultan,I always finish last on races. So calico is the best.
I noticed a different line through corner five I think where the vectre curb boosts and the sultan doesn’t, unless that doesn’t effect the speed through that sector is like to see that run again 🤷♂️
Dang. Was hoping the tuners would become this expanded update where any car could be modded and open up racing to some ridiculous rides like a stealth super car taxi with a mean performance but looks like a regular taxi or a sports forklift. Not this weird pocket universe within the game.
Great video but I would NOT recommend the sultan rs classic for street racing... Or for any racing!! It can not handle bumps at all and it is very hard to hit corners, without it over steering. Basically, if you can master the sultan rs classic. You can drive any other car on the tuners list with ease
You drive the cars look getting a lot of grip. How did you do that? And how did you tune the cars? My favourite car is rx-7 in real life, but zr350 is hard to handle
@@FormulaOneFan98 a Mazda rx7? And a Nissan Silvia? I really like these cars, but the most underperformaced car in this dlc is the pfister comet s2, i mean a 911 beaten by a “old” toyota, nissan, subie and cars like a 2020 supra and much others cars considering whole game
Recently used the Prize Ride Growler for races, & yeah...just Broughy said in his Growler lap time testing vid, I can't attack the corners with much confidence... I had to slow down every corner, more often so than the Calico, just so I can keep it straight, yet it doesn't have the acceleration to make up for it like the Calico. Despite the car's performance in the top tier, I'll likely fair better with the Euros & Jester RR of the 2 tier against the top dogs 'cause of their consistent traction.
I've collected 5/7 mixtape USBs (i think) but IS THERE an option to just play the entire buncha' songs instead of playing one up until it becomes repetitive and annoying, then switching?
Here are the best cars I use for each street races. Business end: Calico Beachfront runner: Calico Up your alley: Sultan RS classic Home street home: Sultan RS classic Country pursuits: Sultan RS classic Back at the rancho: Jester RR / Previon / Cypher High Society: Jester RR
I've got destroyed on beachfront runner cuz there's a Chinese dude put 1 lap and non contact race, he used jester RR and I used Calico gtf no chance whatsoever
I still think the Cypher is somewhat competitive. It's light, handles super well and has great grip and acceleration. It is possible to spin out if you push it hard enough but it's very easy to manage. It lacks in top speed unfortunately so it's only really viable in tight corner races but it can definitely hold its own. You could argue the Vectre covers the same role while being faster but the Cypher feels still much lighter than it. Also I think it has the best brakes amongst all tuners.
Alot of people say that they hate the calico in the corners but I bomb corners with it, I won the vectre today from the price ride so I'm gunna start trying that out, I got like 160 mill but I hate not getting my cars free or atleast discounted and/or on sale
If you're a keyboard driver. The Sultan RS Classic is a lost cause. I've tried learning how to drive it for a week and it's just not worth it. Calico and Vectre are the most consistent to drive for sure.
i noticed the cars may handle different with different types of spoilers and splitters. somehow for me i find it better to have the stock bumber on the GTT for example cuse others cause understeer somehow
It's weird how the top 3 in these results is exactly the opposite of how they perform in actual races. The RS Classic is my favourite, but in nearly all races, the Calico will dominate. In tracks that require good handling, the Vectre usually comes first. Unless everyone else is below your driving level, it'll be a hard time trying to win in a Sultan (assuming they have the other cars).
When you say full upgraded, what suspension do they use? I thought I remember you saying on one video that the max suspension is actually worse for the tuner cars?
@@LuckySlushy most of the cars had very boring customization and the new"business" is absolute garbage. Rockstar sure knows how to disappoint the players

I think the brakes are pretty good lol
@@dart8827 I play on Xbox One
I agree, but I find it’s just a matter of getting used to them
The Vectre is the easiest car to drive in my opinion. The top speed isn’t great, but the handling and acceleration is a dream

Fabulous roundup, Broughy! Tons of thanks! ..I've been out of tuner racing a few weeks, haven't even driven the
Sultan RS Classic! =:0 But yeah, racing aside, just as cruisers, every one of these new tuners is great. I enjoy the
Dom. GTT, Comet S2 and Warrener HKR immensely for toolin' around in. I use either of these 3 for all the
missions launched from my tuner garage.
TL;DR Calico is IGN's best choice, lol
Cars for Gaming Journalists to drive
I still find myself winning most of my races using the Jester. I will admit that I need to practice a lot more with the Sultan. Cheers Broughy!!!
I won about 30 races on Euros raising my tuners level. I think this is the most fun car u can drive on in this DLC. Slide at the end of a corner not so fast maybe, but still nice.
Not gonna lie, I completely forgot about some of these cars lmao
Your work is amazing, you deserve millions of followers!
A very nice overall summary/review of the Tuners sub-class of cars there, some interesting close results in the top 4 or top 2 especially, and can certainly appreciate all the effort that went into testing everything to provide the community with some fantastic videos of the results!😁👍👏
Thanks for the testing! Now i got some acknowledge for picking the right car!
here's an idea that will probably never happen: R* should create more sub classes like the 'Tuners' sub class. that will make racing a little more interesting than what we have today
Ya like older super Cars
I'd love to see you include your thoughts on the handling of each car. I'd trust your judgement on whether something was comparatively twitchy, how's turn-in, stability, etc. I know it's an opinion and not as rigid of a ranking as the lap times etc, but it would be very handy to know
I bought the Vectre for the ULP contact missions surprisingly, and it's doing me a lot of justice in tuner races
I am hoping that each week I can get all the tuners for free through Prize Ride challenges. I have more than enough money to buy them all, but I’m way too stingy to do it.
Same! 😅 Their cost is just a drop in the bucket but I just can't bring myself to pay full price...and that's with nothing else left to buy.
The lowest for all these cars is best, with the exception of the sultan

Just curious
ive been following this channel for years but haven't been subscribed because the physics of the cars after unrealistic. this update however has gotten me invested since i often dominate in my races, and with the quality of comparisons which Broughy's been pumping out, its safe to say im now subscribed, keep up the good work mate
Wow these cars are pretty fast, it would be a shame if they were suddenly nerfed or something wacky like that
Been waiting for this video for a while thank you
Finally got around to playing this expansion. It's the most fun I've had in GTA. Feels like I'm in Fast & Furious.
Saving me so much time and money. Thanks again Broughy ! I’ll have my rs classic for racing and comet s2 for cruisin
Rs classic is not a good racing car
I consider myself a pretty skilled driver, and I love the sultan Rs classic, I can literally dominate no prob, but whenever I'm stressed or just not feeling my jam it becomes impossible to drive I can definitely tell you it's not a car for everyone, the calico is way more forgiving
I find it to be the complete opposite for me. The Sultan RS and the Vectre feels so much more fun to drive. The Calico's understeer just makes me absolutely furious, because it'll always manage to make me clip into something solid around a tight bend.
DAMNNN same
I can't believe they made the s2000 and rx7 fd so slow. IRL those cars are most capable track cars out of the bunch
You say that when there's literally a Cayman, a 911 and an A90 Supra in the bunch
@@Johnny362000 yeah that do be kinda true tho 😳
Now that I think about it does GTF in the name calico gtf stand for gt four because remember the calico gtf is based off the Toyota celica gt four
Returning to the game after buying it on pc once they stopped supporting it on ps3 i binged your videos to get caught up on the fastest cars and was sad to see my turismo is no where near on pace anymore :'(
Edit: After doing a few more races in different lobbies it feels just like my good ole calico again, I honestly think a modder messed with my car in that lobby because it feels much better now and I'm so glad cuz I spent so much on it! 😂
Keep up the great work! ❤
Thanks for an updated video on this!
If you're curious what an average driver thinks, I found the Calico and Vectre to be the easiest to handle in Street Races. The Growler and Sultan are much harder to keep from spinning out.
Then why can’t 90% of Calico drivers actually drive properly? They’re always absolute fuckbois.
Much love, thanks for everything you do!

Thanks again for all your hard work. Great job as always.

Thank you so much for your work!
Awesome video and this helps a lot. 👍
whenever i drive sultan rs classic i get to oversteer and crash calico is really great with stock spoiler
You might have custom wheels that have added too much front-traction bias.
It's safest to leave all the tuners with stock wheels. It's easy to mess up their traction balance, more so than with other cars.
@@CognizantCheddar Wheels don't change the grip bias, the only thing they affect (in some cars) is how the car reacts to bumps
Honestly i would have loved a 4 way lap comparison between the top4 all in one screen
Thanks Broughy!
Most of the races I join have Catch Up enabled. So which would be the fastest if you’re leading a race with that? I usually choose the Calico as the acceleration out of the corners doesn’t get affected as much as the top speed.
pick a car that doesn't rely on straight line speed then, like the vectre
You Got My Support.😁👍
Quick question from the future here. Do the tuner DLC cars still perform the same way did back when you did this video? Or would their lap times be different now with the changes on the handling flags?
different, the changes to the handling flag made them perform somewhere in the middle between this version and the nerfed version
whether he'll retest it and put it in a video remains to be seen
It’s going to be interesting when “Expanded and Enhanced” finally releases and these cars get that speed boost. The Muscle Class and Coupe Class are both going to be ruined while the Sports Class will hopefully have some competition with the Calico possibly being the fastest car in the game by a mile… since R* isn’t giving this speed boost to anything else in the game, which is the most R* thing they’ve done.
Where are you hearing that this speed boost only applies to tbe Tuners
R*: "I'm about to end these cars' whole careers."
_Releases The Contract DLC, with handling flags for all the Tuners._
What would be the laptime on foot around this track? Curious after watching the "Cycles" video
It's just under 6 minutes. I tested it in the very first Cycles video iirc.
@@broughy1322 Thanks!
All these top 4 cars and I’m still winning with the Remus
People sleep on it because it doesn't have amazing speed or acceleration but it handles so well and is very consistent. I've done really well racing with it too though the sultan is faster for sure but easier to mess up with
I've been pulling wins all weekend with my Previon too.
The car lacks power in the straights but it feels so planted on the corners that I can carry more speed on them.
Frankly, I think Broughy's track doesn't really works as a good representation of the tuner tracks, because the Remus, Dominator ASP, Previon and the Cypher definitely doesn't feels as slow as it's shown here.
@@pedinhuh16 one of my fastest laps was with the Cypher
@@pedinhuh16 his track is really aimed for testing all areas of performance where most tracks aren't. Also driver skill and confidence are a bigger deal than car performance a lot of people just pick what is fastest when it isn't really the best car for them. My mate kicked my ass with his comet S2 when I was in a Calico and then I beat him in my Remus so if the previon is working for you that's good I haven't bought it yet I'm hoping it comes as a prize ride soon as long as it doesn't need those goddamn sprint races lol
@@Token_Black_Guy one of mine was with the dominator asp and got the exact same time in the comet S2 lol. great summary
I don't know how and why you based that the best car is sultan. In my personal experience I get good results when I choose calico's car. When I choose sultan,I always finish last on races. So calico is the best.
Read the description
I noticed a different line through corner five I think where the vectre curb boosts and the sultan doesn’t, unless that doesn’t effect the speed through that sector is like to see that run again 🤷♂️
Dang.
Was hoping the tuners would become this expanded update where any car could be modded and open up racing to some ridiculous rides like a stealth super car taxi with a mean performance but looks like a regular taxi or a sports forklift.
Not this weird pocket universe within the game.
They should bring Penumbra FF, Jester Classic and Elegy Custom to Tuner class, where they can compete more. That class would fit good for these cars
I completely agree, the style they have suits Tuners way more and they are too slow in Main Sports class
Good stuff, Broughy
Great video!
I tried looking at the spreadsheet but still dont understand the best mods for the jester rr. I love it but mine understeers alot
thanks broughy
Great video but I would NOT recommend the sultan rs classic for street racing... Or for any racing!! It can not handle bumps at all and it is very hard to hit corners, without it over steering.
Basically, if you can master the sultan rs classic. You can drive any other car on the tuners list with ease
You drive the cars look getting a lot of grip. How did you do that? And how did you tune the cars? My favourite car is rx-7 in real life, but zr350 is hard to handle
I hate that ZR-350 is such a bad car in this game, lots of wheelspin, and very very low grip.
Zr350 is a disappointment
Yeah this must be the fastest in tuners class and the RT
The ZR350 & RT3000 should of been way faster than what we were given.
The crazy thing is I used to watch videos on cars to buy now I have all of them lol
i wonder whether street and pursuit races will be opened up to other classes
I've collected 5/7 mixtape USBs (i think) but IS THERE an option to just play the entire buncha' songs instead of playing one up until it becomes repetitive and annoying, then switching?
I was surprised! I assumed calico was best. My go to car has been the dominator ASP
Here are the best cars I use for each street races.
Business end: Calico
Beachfront runner: Calico
Up your alley: Sultan RS classic
Home street home: Sultan RS classic
Country pursuits: Sultan RS classic
Back at the rancho: Jester RR / Previon / Cypher
High Society: Jester RR
I've got destroyed on beachfront runner cuz there's a Chinese dude put 1 lap and non contact race, he used jester RR and I used Calico gtf no chance whatsoever
Is it me or the calico is the best when custom cars are disabled ?
It's the fastest without mods and can even compete with custom vehicles
that would make sense. The Calico gets less of a benefit from upgrades than the other top 4
So whats the best car around a lap but offroad for rally races? Still the issi sport, or is the calico or the new sultan any faster?
I still think the Cypher is somewhat competitive. It's light, handles super well and has great grip and acceleration. It is possible to spin out if you push it hard enough but it's very easy to manage. It lacks in top speed unfortunately so it's only really viable in tight corner races but it can definitely hold its own. You could argue the Vectre covers the same role while being faster but the Cypher feels still much lighter than it. Also I think it has the best brakes amongst all tuners.
I love the ZR350 too much and to see it in 15th place... I'm basically disappointed by Rockstar Game, but that doesn't mean I'll ever ride it again!
i brought the s2 i still love it even though it in 8th
Thanks dude

If you're a keyboard driver. The Sultan RS Classic is a lost cause. I've tried learning how to drive it for a week and it's just not worth it. Calico and Vectre are the most consistent to drive for sure.
Everyone uses the Calico anyway. Had a sports race recently and everyone used the RSX, fun
i noticed the cars may handle different with different types of spoilers and splitters. somehow for me i find it better to have the stock bumber on the GTT for example cuse others cause understeer somehow
You're placebo-ing yourself
It's weird how the top 3 in these results is exactly the opposite of how they perform in actual races. The RS Classic is my favourite, but in nearly all races, the Calico will dominate. In tracks that require good handling, the Vectre usually comes first. Unless everyone else is below your driving level, it'll be a hard time trying to win in a Sultan (assuming they have the other cars).
For me the easiest way to learn a cars handling is to fool around in the city in first person for a bit. You have to become one with the car 👁️
When you say full upgraded, what suspension do they use? I thought I remember you saying on one video that the max suspension is actually worse for the tuner cars?
