Hey! Super fantastic tips. I'm a LinkedIn enthusiast and I really enjoyed your information. I especially like that you mentioned the importance of posting frequently and sharing our UA-cam videos. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it Prof. Do me a favor? Share one of my videos (maybe this one) on LinkedIn to your tribe. I'd really appreciate it! Hope to see you back in the comments again - check out the rest of my catalog - you might dig some of them.
Bonjour from Morocco 🇲🇦;Your vidéo was so helpful for me specially I’m just beginner in LinkedIn and I’m looking to promote my startup thru it Thank you 🙏
Heard that linkedin is getting huge, so really trying to use it more effectively, but no idea how! This is perfect, glad I saw your face when trying to find how to use it :)
Charlie Macke, You're very welcome. I'm glad you are getting into LI more - very smart. Be sure to check out the other videos in my catalog. There's tons of great stuff there!
Hi, just want to thank you for a great video. Was grappling where to start on LinkedIn and at least got some ideas on making a start. Wish you the same success in your consultancy.
Ghulaam, I'm glad this was helpful. Now dive into LinkedIn - don't be intimidated. It is a great place for creatives - many don't use it to it's full potential!
Very Interesting article. Very useful and will surely implement some of the ideas and hope to further discuss other issues on the best use of LinkedIn.
hi mr. Philip.. my name is laxmikant, i am concept sketcher and artist. currently i am working on my upcomming Startup. So, can i use LinkedIn to show and share my idea and business-plan to the investors. And what are the precautions i should take about my ideas and Bplan on LinkedIn...?? thanks...
laxmi, I wouldn't share your business plan, your idea or any other possible intellectual property (concepts, plans) that is "in development" on LinkedIn at all. If you are connecting with prospective investors on LinkedIn that's fine - but only share confidential content or concepts with them offline and ONLY AFTER you have gotten a "non-disclosure agreement" (or NDA, as they are known) signed by them. You need to be protected legally so that no one steals or shares your idea with others (who might steal it). You can get basic NDA forms online that you can use - but I would suggest having it looked at by an attorney to be sure you are covered.
SimpLee Beth, Thanks so much!~ Can you do me a favor as a small thank you? Please share my video with a friend or two! I'm trying to build my subscribers. More to come!
@@PhilipVanDusen I did share your 14 Ways to Create an Iconic Brand video with Lennon Bone, who works with Tim Schmoyer at Video Creators. I don't have huge reach, but I am more than happy to put info in the right hands when I'm able 😊
Walker, I wouldn't suggest it. Multiple profiles is multiple times the work to maintain - on any platform. Unless it is just 1 business and 1 personal account. But I mean if they are TOTALLY disparate - like Financial Serves vs. CatSitting - then yes, do it. But I doubt that is the case.
Then my next question would be: Does it matter to either of your category of customers that you engage in the other activity? Would it lessen your credibility in either profession to be seen also doing the other? If not, I still say keep one profile - two presences are hard to manage and what do you do when someone is looking you up and comes across the "other you" - which would be more damaging?
Walker, It is almost expected that creative people have more than one creative endeavor. I, in fact ask designers am interviewing what their creative outlet is outside of work. Do they have something creative no one can put their thumbprint on except you? I've found it helps people not be so precious about their work while at work - if they have an outlet. If they don't - then my antennae are up to spot prima donnas.
Why would you not have a profile especially on LinkedIn..that's like not having a profile on FB, IG, Pinterest etc. I gotta watch this again, I'm not taking notes. This was soooooo helpful...!!
Yes Philip! I have been checking them out and I can only say a Big THANK YOU for sharing out of your wealth of knowledge. Your channel is a one-stop resource place for me :)
Google search LinkedIn. It is a giant business professional social and networking platform. "Curian" is actually "curated content" meaning content created by other people that you share on your feed.
Watching this 4 years later and it's gold. Thank you.
You're very welcome!
The video makes me feel I have been sitting on a fortune all this long. I need to maximize this social media

If your business is very broad - mine has several disparate niches - would you recommend multiple profiles on Linkedin?
Walker, I wouldn't suggest it. Multiple profiles is multiple times the work to maintain - on any platform. Unless it is just 1 business and 1 personal account. But I mean if they are TOTALLY disparate - like Financial Serves vs. CatSitting - then yes, do it. But I doubt that is the case.
Actually, it's pretty close to that - I do Architectural Software consulting/modeling and Audio Book Narration. Pretty far afield.
Great point - the architects probably see the other sideline as they would one of their own who paints landspaces. Thanks!

A profile on LinkedIn is like a resume on steroids. And yes, you should definitely have one.
This is freaking helpful - Thanks, Philip!
You're freaking welcome!
Good summary!
Thanks Mattias

Wow
I've heard of linkedin but what is it? No one talked about it in grad school.
What is a "curian" from curian content?
I don't own any brand names.
Google search LinkedIn. It is a giant business professional social and networking platform. "Curian" is actually "curated content" meaning content created by other people that you share on your feed.
@@PhilipVanDusen Thank you.
This guy definitely has dropped some acid in the past. Great Video though!!!
Sal, I plead the 5th.
Nicely played, Philip. I see that you have 194k subscribers. Nuff said.
