Building blocks of Personal Brand: 1. Embrace: Embrace your flaws. Share your backstory. Vulnerability is strength. 2. Create: Create value for your audience. Create and curate content for your audience. Write with intention to impact. 3. Grow: Grow relationships.
I agree completely. When we're authentic and honest about who we are, people can connect with us on a deeper level. And that's when we build real relationships.
To all those people who have watched it later in life like me, I belief there is nothing like late or early in life for creating one's personal brand as long as one is authentic. Just get started whenever you realise that you need your personal brand and work towards it.
"Personal branding is mainly the idea, the representation of the best of you. Your flaws, your triumphs, your challenges but also your successes as well." I love this part Tai! So often I've been guilty of not "Embracing" my identity. Authenticity comes at a price of being vulnerable to the world, definitely a tough thing to do yet I will keep this to heart and embrace :). Like you eloquently explained "Embrace your identity, embrace your adversity, embrace your diversity, embrace your whole self. Only then can people know who you are. Vulnerability is an opportunity."
the guy LITERALLY didnt say any already innately understood. This video was a waste, some would say the revelation of ALL the arbitrary dogmas at play with his rhetoric made it NOT a waste of time lol. THe only thing that made this video "valuable" was seeing lcuifer's sway at the world in play.
Definitely a must view for all those aspiring to develop meaningful careers and achieve their dreams and goals. If someone can't get value out of this Tedx talk, then there's clearly something wrong. Take notes if you want the real value from Tai's presentation.
I have found developing my personal brand extremely important. It’s a chance to initially control our own narrative. Then fill in with real experiences that back up that narrative.
Thank you for the tip Tai, I am similar to you except for my age being much older than you. I had a similar shame as you did, but now you've given me confidence to Embrace my identity, from flaw to good version of myself as you explained "Embrace your identity, embrace your adversity, embrace your diversity, embrace your whole self. Only then can people know who you are. Vulnerability is an opportunity.".... Love xx
I watched his speech 10 times, so inspiring, I was so connected with his story as a immigrant, building my brand name in my workplace. Way to go, You are amazing Tai.
This is 10 minutes of the best youtube videos I've watched in my whole life, the explanation so spesific yet in a simple way, thankyou very much for sharing this through your audience, Best regards From the person who have just started
Really wish I had learned about this when I was a student! Now I finally tapped into my personal brand and it makes me feel much more courageous about my career path.
I took a digital marketing class from Tai last year when I was in UC Berkeley - Definitely learned a lot from him & it's great to see him being on the stage of TEDx Talk now. Go Bears! 🐻
Absolutely brilliant! As a foreigner and not a native speaker, I can relate as well. Being a foreigner in a country is tough. I even wrote a children's book about that with a business lesson to be learnt. It is not out yet but watch this space. Fantastic advice. Now, go watch the video!
Very inspiring talk Tai; the immigration stories never get old and neither do the authentic personal brands that can speak to our humanity. In a world of increasing AI-centricity; the human aspect takes on a new shine.
In order to land that dream job, you need a personal brand. A personal brand is the intersection of perception and reality. It is important to embrace your identity, embrace your adversity, embrace your diversity, and embrace your whole self.
a) Why doesn’t Tai Tran consider perfect GPA, college degree or a resume as tickets for a dream job? b) Do you agree with Tai Tran’s perspective that a strong personal brand will help you achieve your dream job? Discuss your perspective. c) We live in a society where there is a marked emphasis on getting good grades and graduating from a top tier university. In your view does that focus need to shift given how the job market is evolving? Elaborate on why you agree or disagree. d) In what way can you be ‘purposeful’ and ‘intentional’ with your personal brand? e) Tran says that the time should be spent connecting with people not only within the industry that you plan to step into but also out of the industry. In what way can your connections developed out of the industry help you in your professional development? f) In your view, elaborate on why ‘we’ should define our personal brand rather than looking towards others to define that?
The speaker, Tai Tran, shares his personal journey from being an immigrant with a disadvantaged background to becoming a successful entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, emphasizing the importance of personal branding. He explains that personal branding is about embracing your identity, creating value for others, and building meaningful relationships, and it can be done with intention and purpose.
✳️Personal brand is not told by you .. it i told by others... ( Voice tone..) ✳️ Embrace yourself... ✳️ Create value for the audience... ✳️ Dont just form relationship , grow them...
Very Practical views on the concept of Personal Branding. Your background does not have to hold you back but elevate you or give you the motivation to create a better brand in yourself today and for the future.

"Use your vulnerability as an opportunity" stucked me in a different way. Embracing yourself really builds motivation from the core. Thank you Tai!
Vulnerable is what you truly, deeply ,innately are to the core of your being. It is your true power, it is your "only" power.
Personal brand is the opposite of inauthentic if built the right way. Love how he explained everything.🖤
