- Heard by over a billion people a week as the voice of the classic theme tune 'I'm Always Here' from the global smash hit show Baywatch, and gracing the soundtracks of iconic films like The Karate Kid and Rocky IV, Jimi Jamison was one of the best and most respected singers of the genre.
Incredibly, despite all this success, he had never played the UK before, something that the organisers of the annual Firefest show in Nottingham decided to put right. Jimi did not disappoint - not content playing a blistering set spanning his hit-strewn career, he also chose to steal the show with a performance that many regard as the greatest ever witnessed during Firefest's seven year history.
Backed by an energetic band comprised of young rockers H.E.A.T. and guitar hero Tommy Denander, the full concert was captured on a long sold out DVD.
Featuring amazing renditions of 'I'm Always Here', 'Eye Of The Tiger', 'High On You', 'Burning Heart' and much more!

Jimi's voice was incredible no matter what band he was in. This concert is so amazing, especially because he was 59. He was a superstar and is totally unforgettable. I am in awe of his voice every single day. And, of course, the entire band is simply fantastic. Such great energy at this concert! 💕
Of the billion things on UA-cam, I keep wanting to watch this.
So Amazing !
Same here. Jimi and the band are awesome 😎
Me too, i love my handsome jimi!❤
Me too, I want to see this over and over again🎶🎧🎤💕❤💙
I come back and watch (listen) to this just about 3 times a week while alone in the office before everyone else shows up on the speakers on my desk. Then the earbuds go in and I start over again.. Jimi had a great straight forward rockin' voice, he was one of a kind for sure... Very few left that do it like this..
One of the greatest voices of all time RIP JIMI
Jimi is being inducted into Memphis' Music Hall of Fame on October 12, 2023! Way to go, Memphis!
Im so glad to khow, khow that!👏
That is Great, and one street in memphis has his name too!
So good to hear that. I'm from the uk but was nuts on Survivor and jimmies vocal talent. A massive loss to music.
It’s about time such a beautiful voice. I heard him singing ocapella his voice blew me away.
Soi de Aguascalientes Mexico y en verdad para mi es uno de los mejores cantantes de los 80
Jimi Jamison was the epitome of a rock star. He had it all- the looks, the charisma and that voice. Unbelievable!
his voice puts me right back on the 80's vibes! amazing how was able to care about it to perform at this high level.

I just love the Firefest 2010 concert on UA-cam with our Jimi🎵🎤🎼🎶!! Does anyone know the name of the drummer. Rock on everyone 😎💪❤
Yes and he was NOT an arrogant SOB, he was very Humble and down to earth from what I’ve heard.

I was there. The best Live show in my life.
Congratulations!!🎉 a great show with that voice!💕
❤I can believe that. So wish I should have gone.
Never got to see them live I regret it now.
I'm am so jealous! Must have been amazing
@@ThomasDavis-hj9fz i sorry yo hear that!
I keep playing this concert over and over. Jimi Jamison is so awesome and gone to soon. Thank god for this rock and roll treasure. His guitarist and keyboard player are in totally harmony with this awesome singer.
I watch it a couple times a day. Check the video he did called Long Time it was one of my favorite songs he did in the 2010s
Never heard this one. Loved it! Thanks for sharing.
The thing about Jimi is you can understand every single word coming out of the best voice ever.
I've been told from folks who knew him that that was something that he always tried to achieve in his vocals.
@DB Graves I couldn't agree with you more. I never had the pleasure of meeting Jimi but I could tell he was a southern gentleman from the get go.
I've been told by folks who knew him personally that he was very cognizant of how his voice (enunciation) came across on the recording. He wanted the words of the song to be clearly heard.
@DB Graves I agree. Jimi was a very humble man, truly, deserving of all the honors & accolades that we could give to him. May he rest in peace in Heaven!
Jimi started out doing radio announcements and promos. He spent lots of time as a young boy and youth listening to the radio and practicing commercial announcements and singing along with songs.
RIP Man what a voice. He really lost nothing throughout the decades. Impressive.
Jimi always left everything out on that stage with each show. What a true showman. Totally sad he's no longer with us.💔
Jimi and this guitar player... wtf - a deadly combination... boy that boy can play.... !!
Right!!!
Yes..a Steve Lukather deffo..style..awesome
Damn Tommy Denanders guitarwork is amazing!
Jimi Jamison AND Tommy Denander AND H.E.A.T. on stage together. That's just insane!
I STILL LOVE JIMI JAMISON IN 2023. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THAT VOICE & THAT FACE...💔
Me too😢!
It's 2024. I still love Jimi and his music 🎵🎶😘💕😊
@@user-jq1fw7jj9w I'm still loving him💗 too and hearing his music 🥰🎵
I will never stop loving this special man!😍😍😍
The guitar player was on fire!
Like a bat outta hell! Crazzzzy!
Fantastic!!
his energy at Burning Heart is like: "im the king of the 80's"
No juts was the king of the girsl in 80s the king of our heart too!😍💖
Great lineup:
Vox: J. J. 🇺🇸
G: Tommy Denander 🇸🇪
Keys: Jona Tee 🇸🇪
Bass: Jimmy Jay 🇸🇪
Drums : Magnus Ulfstedt 🇸🇪
Tommy is a great player and a big Van Halen fan, search for his you tube tribute to EVH after his passing it’s a great listen
2023 and i love his voice so much 🤘 greatings from germany ☺️
I think germany was the second house of jimi people love him there!💕
One of my top 3 singers. I heard him sing ocapella what a beautiful voice he had
Dude was a superstar voice! Pipes for days! Still hate that he’s gone. Survivor were at their pinnacle w/ Jimi as frontman.
I heard them in 2012 with reo speedwagon and styx and they where by far better than all of them. Jimi always sang with so much energy and passion for his music. We miss you brother.
DID NT KNOW IT WAS LOVE,!!!! ONE OF THE BEST SONGS IN THE HISTORY OF SURVIVOR!!!!!
Its 2024 i still love everything ablot Jimi Jamison. Ill never get tired of his singing, personality and voice ........😎❤️🎤🎼
I think that's his best performance at this age. Amazing voice and he hits all the notes. The guy is 60 and he's singing as well as when he was 35. I love you, Jimi! I hope you're in Heaven so I can see you and talk to you there!
You are so right. Many singers at his age starts to lose their vocal range. For Jimi is very minimum, still has great singing voice.
It's hard to believe that he died 4 years later in 2014. R.I.P. beautiful Man Jimi Jamison with a powerhouse voice. We all miss You & Survivor... You should have been inducted into the music Hall of Fame...❤
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Jimi Jamison's passing. Rest in peace, brother.
Who don't recognise this voice instantly must have been dead in the 80´s! Fucking great stuff!
Rocktopia needs to reissue this in LP, CD and DVD formats!! In fond memory of Jimi Jamison. What a vocalist, writer and performer.
I agree
How god damn talented was jimi jamison?!?!!!
Best singer to ever walk the planet!
One of the best 80s voices out there. Jimi sang live just like he did in the studio. Amazing singer and so missed!
My goodness that voice, one of the most criminally underrated voices in rock and roll. Everyone should listen to him at least once. Jimi Jamison gone too soon :(
he's almost 60 here and his voice is amazing. You're correct, criminally underrated may be an understatement. Too bad he never got his due
How do we get him in Rock and Hall of Fame???
You're Exactly Right !
Anthem voice! And great pitch!
@@emmem4689 R & R Hall of shame is a farce, forget it, they don't deserve greats like Survivor, Jimi, or Boston.
The band is so locked in... To the songs and timing, never over played and always played as it was written having the while band supporting Jimi's vocals.
And he was 59 when he saying that still had a better voice than a whole lot of other people
Survivor music kicked up a notch with the great musicians backing him.
This is so ridiculously melodically epic as his voice is so Survivor perfect - probably even better than it ever was. This band are on fire so tight and emotionally eighties in their sound. I raise my single malt whisky glass to you Sir AOR Master Jaemison as I watch you tonight. Hope the Angel's took you up - with a voice like that you'd sing well in heaven. R.I.,P
What a fucking amazing voice
Tommy Denander is better than most guitarists out there in fact hes in my top 5 Neal Schon Steve Lukather Gary MOORE Eddie Van Halen
I fully agree! I’ve never heard of Tommy before watching this concert. Not only is Jimi outstanding as usual but my ears gravitate to the soaring sounds & fantastic guitar tone. I’m shocked, I watched the video to see Jimi my favorite singer and found an incredible guitarist Tommy Denander. Jimmi, what a Rockin’ concert!! RIP
He's amazing. Top of the game.
Randy Rhodes said George Lynch is the best, I agree...type in Chicago live Tanglewood, MA "25 or 6 to 4", then watch Kath shred the solo, Jimi Hendrix called Terry the best.💣🔥
Funny you mentioned Gary, that was Jimis’ favorite guitarist. I worked for him for years and told him he should do Firefest. He said what’s Firefest? Miss that laugh Jimi. RIP boss.
Tommy Denander is right up there with Eddie Van Halen, Neal Schon & may I add Jimi Hendrix & Eric Clapton!!!
Can Jimi Jamison be more perfect? (Entire band is great.) Fantastic songs not only with Survivor but his personal CDs and with One Man's Trash - History. Also, Rock Hard CD released in 2022 after his passing, has wonderful music on it. One remarkable and unforgettable singer!❤
The Best singer EVER and these songs are ROCK CLASSICS! THE 80'S RULE!
one of my favorite singers all time
Put in Steve Perry @ Lou Gramm and you have the three greatest leads of the 70s@ 80s
My favorite too 😍!
My dream was to see Jimi Jamison in concert. That won’t be possible anymore… but this listening to this concert with headphones helps.
I also love to put the headphones on for any Jimi Jamison music!!!
I worked with him ! But his music Lives on ! Even on new songs at 2023
This is exactly what I am doing now
My dream that never came true
😢the mine too!
EVERY TIME I WATCH THIS I'M BLOWN AWAY. WHAT A PERFORMANCE AND THAT ENERGY AND VOICE... HE'S A GIFT TO ALL OF US.
im completely sure about that! Jimi was a beautiful gift us!❤
Jimi was definitely a gift for all of us, not only because of his beauty, his voice, his quality as a human being and his beautiful heart, Jimi was great, we will always love him!❤💝💝❤🎶🎤
Jimi sounded as good here as he did in "85". I was blessed to have been able to see Survivor live at the height of their career. My love for them will never waver. RIP Jimi. You are still very much loved 😍 😢
Performances like this show why rock 'n roll will never die.
Im going to be 63 on September 3rd. And listen to Jimi everyday!! Rock on in Heaven Jimi. Love you ❤❤. You always sounded spectacular 🎤🎶🎼🎵💯
Happy birthday, pls keep on rockin! 🤘👍🥳🤗🤗
Thank you 🎉. You too.
What a loss … Greatly missed. Amazing singer …
Crazy combination with Jimi's super voice and Tommy's magic guitar playing...damn that we never will be able to see this live again :(
Not to forget the talented guys from HEAT - doing a great job for sure :)
Jimi Jaminson high vocal reach live. Best voice and performance of Rock.
Awesome Jimi as always , the band kicks arse because half of them are from a Swedish rock band called H.E.A.T , amazing musicians 🤘🤘🤘
Even after decades of performing, his voice is STILL the best!
I've made 10 000 views at least, Jimi lives forever in his music! Listening to Jimi since 2009 or so, born in 90s.
My most favorite singer to this day. He had such a southern twang to his normal everyday voice. When he sang? It was this…
I was lucky to see Jimi in Stockholm at Harry BJ, with same lineup
It's the man behind the music.
What an incredible show!! I wish I could have been there. The band was great and Jimi’s voice is the best. We lost a legend way too soon. R.I.P. Jimi ❤️
Same as Well
Most energized and unique voice in rockland, and it fucking rocks, RIP Jami your Art ll stay forever best performance ete of the tiger ever!!!!
Amazing! Gone too soon. What a voice! What a performance! What a band!
Always a fan what a legend like many here camt help but feel he deserved so much more love from the industry a great talent and seemed like a great all round guy
He was a great man too!😢💖
Man thats probably the greatest concert i have ever heard on youtube and tommy is amazing just like jimi they are the best ive ever heard together. Wow what a concert.
Everyone on that stage has mastered their craft. Their a tight unit!
Concordo, todos os instrumentos aparecem com perfeição.
Acompanhei a carreira desse cara desde 1985, com aquele show marcante no Japão.
Juntamente com Dio, os melhores vocais que já ouví sem dúvidas 👏
For sure!
No drugs, no stupid pride on shallow things...Just the pure voice, guitar virtuosity, amazing Chorus and melodies that touch our hearts
Unfortunately, there was methamphetamine in his system when he died.
@@dereksinclair3796 Source?
Whatever befell any of its members in later years, the fact remains that Survivor was comprised of fantastically talented and professional musicians. Each one is great in their own right.
@laurayounge Wikipedia mentions the methamphetamine, which is also in diet pills. I remember someone interviewed said Jimi was concerned about gaining weight. I don't think drugs were mentioned at any other time .
@@laurayounge The Coroner's report...It's pretty easy to find...
What a legend. What voice. No-one like him.
This concert is magical. It doesn’t get better than this.
This guy was one, if not the biggest, childhood inspirations for becoming a singer. I still listen to him in my middle age life.
I can come back to this performance over and over and I always end up feeling so friggin good 🤗 What an amazing singer and what great songs. Didn't know it was love is one of my all time favourites and this performance is just so incredibly good. Wish I could go back in time and see him live but this is the second best thing ❤
DKIWL is the most amazing song ever that didn't get airplay. Shame on the industry. Perfection in the structure of a song and should have been all over the radio back in the day.
I listen to this almost daily at work, must have heard this 100 times since I found it. Once it is over, I go right back to the begining and start again.. Best is early in the morning and I can listen through the speakers on my desk. Rest of the day is a single earbud, and you lose out on hearing it all..Gone too soon, RIP Jimi..🙏
I'm listening to Firefest now. I never get tired of watching it. Jimi was amazing at every stage of his life. Miss you always 💔🙏❤️
@@user-jq1fw7jj9w yes jimi was a amazing he is my favorite forever! I Love him!💖💕❤
Jimi Jamison, a monster of rock
Jimi was still rockin' in 2010. I'm so glad that Jimi recorded this...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
from the ends of the sky, your voice will continue to be heard, rest in peace because you will continue to rock.
I saw Jimi with Survivor back in 1985. I thought then, what an amazing voice! “High On You” was the huge hit at the time. It makes me so sad that we lost him so soon. So underrated and such a beautiful amazing voice. This live video is incredible. Fly and Rock with the angels Jimi. Your music and voice will live on. ❤️🎵🎶🎵🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶
It's Iconic for them
SOOOO underrated!!!!!! R.I.P. Jimi......The Legend....
THAT was an awesome show!
My God Jimi, that voice ... still supreme ... and that cracking band behind him!
Spectacular!
Along side Steve Perry, Jamie kicks ASS!
This concert was fantastic ❤
Happy Birthday, Jimi Jamison. We miss you! 🤟
Glad I came across this site with the entire concert. Jimi's voice is musical. I recently rediscovered Survivor and Jimi. I can't stop listening to all of his songs and marveling at his fantastic voice and musical ability. Wishing he was still here... 🥰
Jimi the best ever!! RIP brother
Amazing Lead Vocalist Jimi Jamison and the band lead by Tommy
First of all, this band kicks butt. And Jimi wails… what an incredible live singer he was. Great show! And he was fifty-nine when he did this!!! Fantastic guitarist, too.
One of the greatest voices of all time. The band was on FIRE too
What a stunning concert! Jimi 's voice is incredible... so sad he left us.
Gosh!! What a team to rock!! Each one of them plays awesome, they sound incredible.
For such an amazing singer Jimi seemed very down to earth. He will be missed
yes Jimi was always down to earth even when he was at the top he was always the same Jimi his friends knew,
Same voice at this age amazing omg rip, yuor music still lives on
Gone way too soon. Loved Jimi
The best singer
A great loss to the music world. One of my favorite rock vocalists. My biggest regret was not approaching him for a pic or autograph at the melodic rock fest in 2010 , 4 years before his passing. Would love to see this released on Amazon music! Amazing vocal performance!!
Wow, really wow, same voice when he was on his prime. So much energy on that voice makes you want to sing along.
I was sadden to hear of his passing, it's ironic because some years back you're music brought me back from the depths of hell, the words in the songs gave me hope to keep on going, thanks Jimi, R.i.p.
Tommy Denander ripped out the soul of rock gat this gig! RIP Jimi and band!
woh!! great concert!!! top notch band, Jimi was at his top and Tommy definitely rocked it... so good! one of the best rock concerts I have ever heard! RIP Jimi... eternal regrets.
To see him having fun and loving what he did....not knowing in a few years he would be gone,
God Bless U Jimi
most of the mostly softfully rock voice in the history, absolutelly fantastic. RIP Jimi - about 8 years you passed away :(
music of '84, the best.
Such a sad loss I had tickets for his uk visit and he passed a month before he was due to come over
Just watched it again ... best version of Caught In The Game, IMO, high energy and solid rock!
It's such a great set-list as is.
If I could add three it would be: How Much Love, Desperate Dreams, and Fire Makes Steel. Sorry, don't need to hear The Search Is Over anymore ... too much for one lifetime.
God could he ROCK. One of his best shows ever. hugs to heaven JIMI
I understand the audience. I'd be also paralised by this amazing concert.
He did conserve his voice so well! What a great singer he was.
Amazing concert. Simply the best Jimi.
His vocals give me chills every time, what an amazing and emotive singer! One of a kind and a great loss.....RIP
I was just about to comment that same thing.. like I got choked up a little it was so good
The Very best Live show... Beautiful work and sound vocals and guitars.... Amazing.
Ah, the memories! Vital Signs and Eye of the Tiger were two of my favourite (and best) albums of the eighties. And here we have Jimi in 2010, almost 30 years later, singing as well as ever. Such a sad loss. Kudos to the band, also. They are tight, and have that 80s Survivor sound nailed, especially the lead guitarist. This is now on my playlist. Oh, and kudos to Sly Stallone for giving Survivor a leg up with Rocky. Although, with a band as talented as them, I firmly believe they would have still hit the big time on their own merit, eventually. Still, it shows Sly has good taste in music! 🙂
Edit. Just did some research on Tommy Denander. No wonder I was impressed..they guy is a guitar legend!
